Very well designed, great job! I would recommend offering a variant specifically for the GoPro track enthusiasts. After seeing your GoPro, I’m sure the road racers would love that point of view and confidence that it will not come off at the track.
Matt, I live in Texas and took ownership on my Model 3 in Nov 2018 and didn't like the bracket Tesla gave us for the front plate so I elected not to use it...ever. Yes, a gamble since front plates are required in the state of Texas but many get away with not having one. However, here it is nearly 4 yrs later with the front plate still off until last week my wife was stopped but luckily given a warning for not having it on there. Needless to say my wife was not too happy she was stopped but was more perturbed by the fact that I didn't put it on. Resolved that with a quick order via Amazon for your SnapPlate and I am extremely pleased. Yes, I know there are other options out there but I loved the fact that your design included the ability to mount the plate in 3 different vertical positions.
So far so good. Not sure why Tesla just didn’t buy this design from you. This was the cleanest and easiest to install plate. I have no regrets buying it. Thanks!
Thanks! Tesla needs something that's cheap to produce and can withstand any amount of abuse from car washes to people plowing snow with them, but we're happy to fill our little niche!
You are to be congratulated on your design. Other 'solutions' are clunky, funky or junky. You provide a quick method to install or remove without any harm to the grill or paint. I live in a '2 plate' state that does no enforcement. If it did, I would certainly purchase your product. Although it is expensive, I believe it is worth it.
@@NVRick1 We talked about it, but ultimately decided it's not worth it. By the time we got a patent and then took someone to court in 5 years once it's issued, we'll have spent all the money we made. The market here is just very small. We'll just enjoy it while it lasts.
In my state, license plates are required but not enforced, much like yours. I only need them when I get a safety check. I will be ordering a model 3 soon and I’m definitely gonna buy your product! 😉
This is absolutely brilliant, Matthew! I don’t know how I missed this video, I try to watch all of your videos. If I didn’t have my plate holder stuck on my paint protection film, I would consider it. I would never put the factory mount directly onto bare paint, it would definitely ruin it. My front plate acts as a front parallel parking bumper guard, that’s why I like the permanent protection.
Thanks Mitchell! One of my early prototypes actually used the factory plate holder exactly for that reason, but I moved away from it because you had to modify the plate mount and use small pieces of adhesive where it still touched the paint and it was just too DIY-ish for most. Instead I made it stick out away from the car. We actually had a customer with our first reported parking accident with it last week and thankfully, his car came out fine.
I was literally about to buy one because the design is so simple and effective, instant "I gotta have this!" feeling. Then I realized I live in state where its not required. So now I'm sad. Maybe I'll get one just for when I travel to the cape for rocket launches, since my license plate reads SpaceX, and can show it off on the front as well. Amazing design sir!
Darn it!! I was waiting to get home to buy one, but it seems you're out of stock! Kudos on such a great product! I was waiting for something like this to release since I didn't really like the design and look of both the Bandit and the Law.
@@EveryAmp Okay, so I got it today, and installed it, along with the safety screw on the side. Thank you for the quick delivery BTW. Looks like I have installed it correctly, now just need to drive around a bit. I hope it works well.
In California most Teslas do not have a front license plate even though you are supposed to have one. I just pull out and use the Snap Plate when I am using public meter parking
Great execution and very clever. The one question I have is that, considering that its 3D printed. How well is this going to stand up against high heat, thermal cycling, and UV. It is an external piece after all and I can imagine the flex region fatiguing after some time.
It has been solid in our 3 months of testing, but we've definitely not tested every situation. It's made of PETG plastic which is pretty resilient. We're giving it a 180-day warranty, to make sure it can survive a winter of abuse.
Matthew, I think you need to add some rubber bumpers to be stuck behind the back of the top screw holes. I’ve found out the hard way that the screws protrude a little tiny bit out of the license plate bracket and someone backed up into the snapplate and it flexed fine and did not break but it left two dimples/scratch holes in the paint directly behind the top screws :(
When I tested it at ">80mph" it was quite a bit greater and I was surprised by how little it flexed at high speeds. I'm sure there's a speed where it would touch, but you won't find it on a road that requires front license plates. The turbulent air from the truck was definitely the limiting factor, but we've been testing these for months with no issues.
I would agree that most vehicles which don't have a built in spot for the front plate is ugly. However, unlike the other Tesla models, the Model 3's front nose is just too plain and in my opinion looks great with a front plate. Great design though, but like with other plate mounts, it's hooked onto the cars plastic air intake fins. This might be a stress point. Sadly, I already used the OEM plate mount on mine, but I might use yours instead. I do like how it's easy to install and much less expensive than most of the competition. Hopefully some of the other Model 3 UA-cam channels will review your plate mount, because I think it's a game changer!

@@EveryAmp Understand totally. Congrats on a great product, bet you'll sell more than any other model. Love that it is light and minimal yet very durable.
I considered it initially, but decided against it because dirty foam can still leave scratches and the surest solution was to just make sure it doesn't touch.
We're slowly sharing it. This video alone grabbed more attention than anticipated and emptied out inventory. We're adjusting our manufacturing line and scale of supplies to accommodate. Once all the backorders are filled in the next week or two, we'll share harder. ;)
I saw from the on-road footage that the license plate bends back from the wind. Are there any problems with it rubbing on the nose of the car or otherwise damaging the paint?
Touchless washes are generally fine, but touch washes aren't safe for this or any other similar license plate mounts. SnapPlates have patented breakaway features to sacrifice themselves before there's damage to the plastic grille, but if touch car washes are your priority, the factory adhesive or screwed on mount is the only option we can recommend for you.
This is *awesome*! I just ordered one last night. I also just got my Tesla about 3 weeks ago, lol. My temporary paper license plate runs out on February 8th, and I should have real plates by then - any thoughts on whether this will arrive before February 8th?
It should work fine for any frames that have four holes. The ones with just two holes on top would work, but I imagine they would be pretty floppy. I tested it with a big rubber bumper protector on mine, but I just couldn't handle the bulkiness.
Both work well and are assembled in the USA by Tesla enthusiasts. It really just depends on your preference. We're biased, of course, but we think the SnapPlate fits the aesthetic of the car better. Both are sturdy enough to get the job done, but we've taken a different approach with our breakaway plate mount design to reduce the chances of your bumper or grille getting damaged in a car wash or minor parking accident. You can see more about it here: ua-cam.com/video/1rmQ7mU3Cic/v-deo.html
There are so many variables between bumper heights and shapes and speeds there's no way for us to say what's going to happen, but you should assume if you bump a car something is going to be damaged. That said, we've had several reports from customers who walked out to their cars and saw their SnapPlate was broken and when they checked their Sentry footage, saw that someone had backed into them. In those cases, there was no damage to the car, they just needed some SnapPlate spare parts for $25. I'd consider that a win.
It could. From what I could gather you guys have to drill your own holes in the plates or most cars have holders that don't need holes? What hole dimensions would work for you?
You should send one to Brian at i1Tesla to review, he's got a ton of followers that would love this product. One suggestion though, add a small foam bumper behind the top plate bracket. So if the mount is pushed back and touches nose, it won't scratch the paint.
Thanks for the suggestion. I considered that actually, but decided I'd rather maximize the clearance since dirty foam can still scratch. It would be a pretty easy add for anyone who wants it.
We're looking at around a week or so right now. They're selling faster than we expected, so we may have to pause backorders soon. Thanks for the order!
We're very responsive over email, but just don't have the capacity to staff a phone center. Here are all the Model S options: everyamp.com/product-category/tesla/model-s/ Is yours the original black nosecone or the facelifted model?
@@EveryAmp Thank u for youre fast response. It is the updated nose that came with the car. Not the bubble nose. The nose came with the car. I did not buy the facelift.
@@EveryAmp I looked into all the aftermarket plate holders and finally decided on the plastic taped on crap from Tesla. Figured it would cause the least amount of damage if it ever got clipped. And I'm waiting for the vinyl plates to come to NJ :)
When I was designing this I originally wanted to integrate some kind of bumper protection into it at least for parallel parking type situations, but it ended up just so big and ugly I felt like the cons outweighed the pros. I'm a big fan of the vinyl plates too. That would be my first choice if I lived in an area that enforced it.
I tried to go minimalist and give it just what it needed. Are you seeing a problem that it is causing? Things looked good in our testing: ua-cam.com/video/e6XW9KLTsIg/v-deo.html
If you sold the STL file then those of us with 3D printers could print our own while still contributing to your work. And you wouldn’t have to provide a warranty.
We actually intended to just share them on thingiverse at first, but after talking to Kenriko (who was in a similar situation with his vinyl wrap templates) we decided against it for now. In Kenriko's case, people took his files and started selling their own kits and then attacked his company by leaving bad reviews on Amazon and elsewhere. It's unfortunate that a bad minority ruins things for everyone. We know copycats will eventually come with a cloned product, but they're going to have to do the work to clone it rather than just take it.

Will it fit on a Mustang gt
It will not. SnapPlate is vehicle specific. Thanks for the question!
Mine is stuck, how can i take it out
Send us an email at contact@everyamp.com so we can see what's going on and get you taken care of.
Good job
How long do backorders take? I just ordered it but it says it's backordered.
We're looking at around a week or so right now. They're selling faster than we expected, so we may have to pause backorders soon. Thanks for the order!
Would it work on a Chevy Cruze 2015?
Since all of the Teslas are different, I'd say there's no chance it will work on any other car.
Very nice!
Anything for BMWs?
Not currently. What's your request?
Will it be available for Model Y?
Yes. We're taking pre-orders right now. livingtesla.com/shop/
I have a Model S 2016 September.. Do you have one available? I wished you had a phone to call!
We're very responsive over email, but just don't have the capacity to staff a phone center.
Here are all the Model S options: everyamp.com/product-category/tesla/model-s/
Is yours the original black nosecone or the facelifted model?
@@EveryAmp Thank u for youre fast response. It is the updated nose that came with the car. Not the bubble nose. The nose came with the car. I did not buy the facelift.
I am not seeing a difference between the first and second pictures on the link u sent to me.

Love it!!
Wow. You’re a god
does this mess with the radar at all?
We haven't seen any issues. The plate is in nearly the same place as the OEM plate mount.
I bought one and accidentally threw out the screw case. Smart.
what would happen if the plate was sideswiped?
All bets are off in the chaos of an accident.
@@EveryAmp I mean would it rip the grill off with it do you think?
Hard to say for sure. It would be a race between the grille or the latches breaking first.
Genius
The back support arms seems too short. Should't they go all the way across the back of the license plate?
I tried to go minimalist and give it just what it needed. Are you seeing a problem that it is causing? Things looked good in our testing: ua-cam.com/video/e6XW9KLTsIg/v-deo.html
.stl?
Maybe one day, but we just spent a bunch of money on a patent and are in no hurry to give it away at this time.
