Bought a Polaris Ranger 570 full size for the property. It’s lightweight for a side by side (1000 lbs) with a large dump bed. I agree with you about the Kubota, just too heavy and slow.

Hi Josh, you should check the way you installed the attachment brackets, they might be upside down, they have what we call in AUS rivet or avdell nuts on them. they are a crush nut so when installed the nut needs to be pulled up towards the bracket not away or they can stretch the crush area and come loose.

I put a Strongmade basket on the front rack of my 2015 Rancher. It's been great for hauling the chainsaw, gas can, etc. I'd like to put one one the back rack, but half of the year I've got a boomless sprayer on it to spray out the lane and fencelines. It sure is handy around the farm. I've thought about a utv, but upwards of 15k is more than I want to spend. I bought the rancher new. I keep up on the maintenence and it has been 100% reliable. Thanks for the video!

Washer orientation doesn't matter at all, but I am still the same way! They must go on correctly. The flat side with the burr goes toward the work/away from the bolt head or nut it is adjacent to.

Downsizing from a SXS to an ATV actually is an upgrade. At least it has been for my farm. There have not been very many instances yet that I have wished I had the SXS. The ATV is more versatile. I went with Strongbox for my ATV rack boxes and they are well made. Minimalizing has been a good thing for me. The ATV is more capable for most things for my use.

These ATVs have basically been banned in Australia. The Japanese brands gave up and only a couple of Chinese selling them with a roll over bar. The ban came in to try to reduce the number of roll over incidences resulting in injury or death. So in the USA the government forced the installation on little tractors of anti pollution systems to save the planet. In Australia the government banned little ATVs to try to reduce the numbers of people killing themselves on ATVs.

Realistically an ATV loader is a terrible idea. I believe with the loader it's not recommended to exceed 5mph and with the price of the loader and fourwheeler it went on buying a used skid loader would be far more useful. In my mind skid loaders are the best investment any farm could make.

I have been hunting with a friend that has a Honda Pioneer side by side. It is very handy. I just can't afford one. I have a small operation close to 100 head of cattle (about 40 cows, about 30 replacement heifers, about 35 calves and a bull). Also, I can't believe you only weigh 210#. I'm 5'8" and I'm 205#. I still lift everything by hand and I'm getting tired. And I walk all over 140 acres to irrigate. Hopefully our quad gets fixed soon.

So it sounds like you prefer ATVs over SxSs for farm work… do you also prefer ATVs over light tractors for anything for which there are equally capable attachments for the ATV and the light tractor? I ask because I am considering a small property (20- 100 acre lease for intense rotations of pigs followed by chickens and possibly micro greens for winter fodder to raise year round) and while a tractor is useful, there are workarounds for almost everything a tractor is needed for to use an ATV…. And a red ATV costs 6-12k, but a new tractor is 20k and way up…. If I can do everything for the first two years with an ATV it saves me from spending a lot on a tractor until I need need one instead of just want need one…..

It has a few upsides, removing unhealthy or dead trees that harbour diseases, undergrowth that enables predators and reduces fuel load. He could get some goats to help maybe

Jo....I manage the forest my friend....and I'm building a farm..not a wildlife preserve...however, the amount of wild life that's come to the farm since I started managing things has doubled. There are geese and ducks on the pond...the creeks are full of life and the trees are growing awesome.....some folks think that managing a forest or farm is simply leaving things alone and not touching them...it's just not true. Trees are the most renewable resource on the planet.....don't let anyone tell ya different.....we cut down 3 trees and allow one to grow ....if we don't thin the forest the trees will never reach maturity...they'll simply fall over in a domino affect destroying the trees around them. Remember...this isn't the desert...it's NC there are hundreds of thousands of trees on the property
