Wall Girts- roof purlins 😉 lol it doesn’t matter. When I started my company I would get asked every single project that question. Red iron is quick and easy good choice 👍
I found through the years there constants about sheds that are not subject to change. They are never large enough no matter how big it is, consequently the bigger the shed, the more stuff one crams into it because sheds abhor an empty space and there are never enough electrical outlets in it. Other than that I'm sure you'll enjoy your new shed all the same.
I know this very expensive to do, hope you go with 2" closed cell foam insulation. No condensation problems which can happen behind batts. Over time it will pay for itself and increase structure intercity 3x according to Spray Jones.
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer thanks for info, but I highly suggest you look at Spray Jones youtube channel. Anyway it's great to see your shop going up and much success
I hear ya paul...however the water table is way way too high here where the shop is going in....I'd have to spend $8k at least to build a pit...v/s 3k for a lift and no water problems. If I were building in a dryer spot it might be something I could do
So great seeing the frame of your mega shop going up! This project was along time coming! You go from one hugh project to another, your farm is really taking shape. Great Job Josh! Wooooo! 👍
Great to see the footage of the Mega Shop! On a future livestream or video, can you please discuss the Genetics of your herd? Like will you use the same bull from your dad or a different one? The effect Cody had? Southpol cattle introduction? Will you be doing AI. Like that... Love your videos!
Hey Josh! Could certainly tell that this was not their first rodeo putting one of these together! Once the exterior shell is up, then most of the interior can be roughed in... and the final details can be decided upon as needed. With no wood involved in the construction... the steel should last for a very long time! It will be interesting to see how it gets filled up with stuff!
@@kdegraa Nature DOES seem to abhor a vacuum. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha! Unless one is positively ruthless about constantly cleaning out the clutter... they do fill up fast... leaving little, narrow, winding trails that are prone to what I like to call, "Crapalanches"... stuff that falls down because of being stacked too precariously high! I hope that that does not happen here! Shelves along the walls and/or forming aisles might be a partial solution.
@@martinmeltzer2696 getting rid of crap is the key. However Stony Ridge Farmer has a propensity to have many pieces of farm equipment in his care at any one time. It’s a shame when this equipment is left out in the open for long periods of time. So a big shed for storing equipment is good to have. I guess he will not be getting rid of his smaller sheds and will be able to store equipment in them.
What equipment are you putting in the butcher shop? Food lion has auctions in Salisbury every quarter on grocery store equipment. Everything they've replaced in their stores.
Hey Josh, you going to put a bed in your office for the late nights there at work? What about a big walk-in freezer for the butcher shop? Glad you're bringing us along for the build. It's a huge project you have going for sure. Just be careful and don't get yourself hurt working there all alone.
Great to see a red metal frame building in America instead of timber frame it’s probably stronger that’s how we build in Ireland and we don’t even have tornado s.
Glad to see the building going up Josh. I think it would’ve been a lot nicer and more custom and you could’ve had a home and a shop all in one with R&R buildings in Illinois. Understand why you did this, just thought I would mention that. Happy building.
Ralph...we arent' done yet buddy....all has yet to be revealed ....however I love the R&R builder channel..it's great...but we arent building wooden structures here ...just wooden framing inside.....he's thousands of miles away from me....however...you don't know what the future holds just yet...hang tight buddy there's 4 more years of construction to go here!
Looking good josh the buildings gonna be a fun place to have tool tuesdays and Friday feasts lol. Also seen that rain and I bet that was a blessing for the farm to. Be safe buddy and enjoy your weekend.
So glad for you....having a nice shop with a concrete floor is a game changer. We're glad you didn't go with "Mega-shed" for the name, because then there would be problems as that's what Mrs. Piney Grove named our building! 🤏 🤣😂🤣 Whooooo....or whewww! 🐄🤠
Hey Josh thank you for the video and it sure coming along the building going to be nice when it's done then you can work on putting that wood stove in there and working on popcorn I think that should be your first project in the new shop woo
I have a buddy that does garage door installs, he’s quite the character and he’d be good to have on video. If you don’t already have a door guy he may just be of assistance.
Finally👍🏻
Hi.... Josh nice to see you, thank you for showing your video homestead 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 🌱🏡🎥👍👍👍

Congratulations Josh on the start of your Mega Shop. God has truly blessed you and your farm.

lol....this aint a shed brotha this is a massive structure....once finished I'll have over 10,000 sq feet of usable floor space! Cant wait!
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer in a few years it won’t be enough.
Shed.....lol..this is beyond a shed.
Purlins on the outside of the columns, our shop has them between ,Hmmm that is less welding for the manufacturer
not sure how they would ship them if they were pre-welded...interesting thought
The columns have tabs welded to them that the purlins bolt to
Whooooo!!!!! one of the beeter vids you have done....love this!
It is so great to see the shop go up! I know you are excited!
Thanks Tony! Come on over and see it sometime!
