Not sure if you meant that as snarky as it sounds, but it shouldn’t be an insult. Farming is difficult, and near impossible to do without a supplemental income. This lifestyle is disappearing, we shouldn’t be shaming those who are finding a way to make it work
ua-cam.com/video/jkupcoZb6ag/v-deo.html Here's a link to the video I did 2 months ago telling you how I earn a living. Hard work, dedication and intellect pays off in this world, anger, resentment, jealousy and hatred doesn't my friend. I'll pray for you buddy....we could all use a little prayer
He's been very clear on this. There are a few farmers who are very clear that content creation is a big part of getting their books in the black. Content creation is just the latest utilization of technology. Add content to your choring and you could create this revenue source eventually. Admittedly I don't have the discipline for either :)
Honda Blubicon.... Love that color. Can't beat a Honda either. ATV's are so underrated. Maybe other channels think they won't garner the views or maybe they haven't discovered the beauty of using an ATV. I gotta figure out mounting some GMRS hand held radios to mine though. Picked up a couple waterproof models with external mics.
I have all my stuff in a trailer that I got and it is set up for fencing and other things I need on the farm my atv is still normal other than a 2 in lift and one size bigger tires been three years now works out great I still take my atv riden with family and friends all I got to do is back it in the shop and unhook it and go out on trails. Trailer was 1800.00 dollars well worth it.
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer Yep, but it will last a lifetime. I have one I've had for 20 years. Surfed in it every weekend for 15 of those years. Serviced it one time, and now its still in my top three favorite watches. Have fun with it. Love the channel BTW.
Very timely video. I was just thinking a few days agao I need to do something better on my ATV because I've just been using a crappy motorcycle bag and bungee cords and I have to move very slow or things jump off it.
The two in the front bumper are still usable but they need more light anyway even if all three are working. A twelve inch light bar is usually enough and a small one in the back comes in more handy than you would think.
I pulled the bulb out of the top light after I put an Apache box on the front rack. The other headlights in the bumper have hi/lo, and that has been plenty for me. I was planning on getting a light bar, but after riding it like it is, I decided I didn't really need it. A Q-beam for the acc plug was a better option, as that lets me point the light 360 degrees and doesn't have to be mounted.
I got both the Triton rear rack and the Kolpin front rack after watching one of your videos last year about two red Honda's. I love the Kolpin front rack, it works great for hauling all of my portable tree stands and sticks out for the deer season. I have a Yamaha 700 Grizzly and both racks fit great on it. I might have to look into those Rino Grips, I have something similar but they do not clamp down.
I would suggest blue thread seal for the nuts, Keep an eye on the honda tube/rack on the back as mine has been welded a few times and I made a 40oz drink holder for the left hand front rack with a slot for the otterbox clip for the phone. I do love my motorcycle type twist throttle. The biggest upgrade was very soft grips to help with the bouncing impact on the hands.
Maybe you can think of a way to make the basket that sticks way out in the back where it can fold/roll forward to make it easier to hook up the Reese hitch and so on
You might want some more lights on it. Maybe a little light on the back as well to see the spreader and what ever else you have going on back there. The 3 point is nice to have a little service light back there. But I do a lot of winter stuff and it gets dark here pretty early in the fall and winter. Nice outfit though !
For me, I would slide a tool sleeve in the bucket to have tools on hand at all times. God knows we need them when we don't have them 😡. We use atv's also and these are useful products. They just need some farmer touch-ups.
electricity is hooked up....just trying to find the time with all the projects on the farm....it will take me a couple days to run power up to the lights
the problem with trying to unreel poly wire is that you've gotta really watch it...and almost need to walk with it....my buddy greg judy has come up with some interesting attachments ...basically just pipe that holds the reel
@StoneyRidgeFarmer yeah we have tried all kind of gizmos attached to the gator. Works sometimes, makes a mess other times. Wait a minute, I just described me! Haha
Stoney that a bad idea never put your bang bang that way unless you don’t have trees or bushes that’s a good way to wreck your bang bang ‼️ you need to put bang bang ‼️ front to back only. Just beware
lol...yep they're called Side by sides lol....picking at ya buddy.....if ya want a cab and a roof, for a few more bucks you can get into a side by side like the pioneer
I only tow one little trailer around the farm and sometimes a wood splitter....it's pretty easy to hook up, but the rack does get in the way. This ATV is dedicated for seeding and chores now...I have 2 other's for use around the farm towing stuff
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer got it. Time to talk to the Department of Finance to release funds for another ATV :) We have 26 acres, but less than 4 are accessible, this is a 100 year old overgrown/abandoned farm, so it's ALL briars and brush to clear :)
do yourself the biggest favor anyone could do....HIRE A FORESTRY MULCHER!! Man...I got started on this property clearing with a DR brush mower and chainsaw....3 years later I hired a forestry mulcher company to come in and he could get 5 days work done in 1 hour!! It's so worth it!! Look into getting a forestry mulcher contractor in for a few days and you'll never regret it!! $5k worth of mulching would be a year's worth of hand work!
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer you pretty much nailed what I'm doing. I'm not looking to fully open, going for a 'food forest thing,' but I have my DR and saws.. I hired an excavator to open a roadway down the property, so I can only imagine what a mulcher could do.. I'm jotting this note down for when I change my mind and go for the gusto :)
You did what ??? " I put the bolt on so when i cut i can get the bolt off. dont like how you have to drill in to the rack ,With these racks and baskets ,This would reduce the weight of wht you can carry safely .As now In Australia we can not buy new atvs from the big brand names , as they have to be fitted with roll frames .
No but your supposed to be using this Mega shop for all of your farming ventures not a toy house . Just look at what your putting on line. Yes I would say go ahead back to town and maybe you can get back together with your wife. She is the only good thing that you ever had in your life. Don't screw it up
Srf don’t forget to tell everyone that your 1st generation farm is funded by your pension and UA-cam …

Amen Josh, the amount of energy you are wasting with jealousy is crazy, put that energy into bettering your self !

Crazy to think what jealousy turns people into....
It's good to see somebody living on the land and enjoying it. Also taking care of the land and making it healthier than you found it.
thanks Dave!

That makes a lot of sense!
The blue lock tight looks pretty red to me 😝
it was actually kinda purple
Im going to get that bucket holder for my side by side because my ol lady alway takes a bucket with us on rides
There’s a coupon code down there in the description. Please help yourself
11:42 Strong Made is made in the Usa, in Louisiana.. I have their 550m rack it's nice..
I have strongmade racks and a receiver hitch on my rubicon. They are made in Louisiana and custom fit to the rubicons.
Fun watching you get rigged up on your new ATV.
Looking good. This will definitely carry everything you need on a project.
Thanks for sharing! Great content! Had a cringe moment when the drill bit hit the plastic lol. Sometimes you just got the get it done!
Hey Josh thank you for the video and if I had a four-wheeler I do it the same way you did it too woo
Love the SKS007 Dive Master watch.
thanks!! Jeeze those watches are expensive now! Was $250 now $800 or more

You need to get a scrap piece of plywood or something to use as a backer, to prevent the damage from blowing through with your drill.

I am not seeing any lights in your shop yet Josh. Is there a timeline for getting the electricity hooked up?

Good video
Strong Made racks are American made.
BAM!! Thanks!
I have Strong Made too on my Honda 420. Love them and they are really stout.
Strong Made makes some beefy ATV hitches too
Josh what's the weight rating for the bucket haul?
ya know...I"m not sure, but I wouldn't hesitate to say 30-40 lbs ish....probably on the website but I'm not sure
Looks like the shop light installation isn’t finished.
lol....not 100% but I'm putting up all the lights today!! Woooo!!!! I get busy and set things to the side too much!
I wonder if they make an adapter like the bucket haul that would hold an electric wire reel for rotational grazing.

How do you like the Solectrac? I’m wanting to buy one before years end for my small micro farm
I like it, I think it's great for what it is! No complaints what so ever! It is expensive though
Tires arent on backwards they maximize the ability to get unstuck.😊
lol...when backing out right bhahhaha....love it!
Love your attitude!
Was hear. Wooooo
How long are the bolts for the bucket hold after you cut them?
Gdam!! Guns a blazing brahhhh peeeww pewww
well...maybe not all that buddy....just hunting and farming lol

How is your farm so clean?
I clean up after myself...and it's a constant battle lol....we also rotate the cows and try to avoid making mud holes at all costs
Worst place to drill is in the tubing…it weakens the tubing and it’ll draw in water and rust from the inside of tube…
