I love there right now. It is really boring sometimes because everything is atleast 25 miles away. But my most favorite place to visit is definitely the falls in Minnehaha county. And you get to see the little shack that Louis and Clark made way back when.

I agree with the list, as I was born & raised all over South Dakota because my dad worked for the state in land/wildlife management. Once I grew up & got hitched, we moved to Mesa, AZ. I’m back for retirement in the beautiful Black Hills after 20 years in the Sonoran Desert. Anyway, the list is great, but I’d also add a cave tour to the list. There are so many in the Black Hills. All are fun but the bigger caves are the ones federally owned: Jewel Cave & Wind Cave. Ask around once you get here about a private cave that will fit your family’s needs if you want something different. They are all much cooler underground than if it’s a hot day outside, so bring jackets if needed, 💜
I have been to all those places. One place that you missed is the Falls of the Big Sioux river in my hometown Sioux Falls. I would recommend Falls Park over the Corn Palace although if you're traveling east to west you can visit both very easily.
Hot Springs, SD, towards the south end of the Black Hills. Former Victorian spa town. Walking tours of the town, antiques, hot springs water park, Battle Mt , enclosed Mammath dig where even kids can participate, near wild horse sanctuary, beautiful drive into WY. We could easily spend two full days there.

I was born in SD and I took my daughter to each of these places this summer (2021). I’ve been all around the world, but SD is among my favorite things laced to be. Close to where my family homesteaded in 1880, the Ingalls also homesteaded near DeSmet. You can visit where she used to live, ride a covered wagon and even camp there overnight. Currently, you can visit the very top of Crazy Horse Monument and touch the face. I’m happy that you enjoyed visiting a place that I have great memories as a child and as an adult with my family.
I would add a few more must sees and they’re all in the Black Hills area. Deadwood is historic. It’s classic old Wild West town and it’s kept up beautifully. During the summer evenings it’s a place to party with folks coming from every corner of America. Another area is Spearfish Canyon Scenic Highway. I think the most beautiful stretch of highway in all of the Midwest. For people watching this video that are going or have been to south Dakota I recommend taking a ride on the historic 1880 train from hill city to keystone
No mention of the Mammoth Site or the Mitchell Prehistoric Indian Village? As a South Dakota native, I can state with absolute certainty both those places are infinitely more interesting than the Corn Palace.

Can one manage to drive a RV through parts of Custer or would it be too hard?
I would definitely check clearances for Needles highway, but the other roads would be fine. There are RV sites in the park if I remember right.
Shouldn't have a problem with any size RV. THANKS EUGENE WEAVER
Stay on US16A through CSP, don't go up Iron Mountain Road or Needles, can do the Wildlife loop Rd if your RV isn't too big but a little sketchy, okay a lot sketchy with an RV. Have fun, beautiful place man!!
you can go almost anywhere through the park with an RV. Some places are a little more challenging than others. Even though I have seen older smaller tour busses on the needles and iron mountain, along with RV's, I wouldn't make the trip with one. Too, nerve wracking and stressful. Not what you want on a relaxing vacation to our state.
Growing up we saw a couple of tourist who tried to take small RV's and oversized vans to the Needles. They didn't make it!
I have been to all 7… did you do Bear Country? My favorite place for sure is Deadwood!
We'll have to check that out next time!
You forgot the Welcome to South Dakota sign on I29 in the northeast corner of the state. It's especially popular amongst North Dakotans.
Haha
very inspiring family story
Love this state born and raised seen all of them check out Sioux Falls also Spearfish Canyon in the Black Hills is awesome lots of waterfalls.
I agree Spearfish Canyon is beautiful!
Beautiful Dakota for sure... Great family, thanks for taking us around
South dakota has one of the best politics in the country. Your quality of life enhances ten fold by moving to a state like this. Most people will never understand unless they moved there
Do tell?
FANTASTIC, thank you Sr.
For people watching this video that are going or have been to south Dakota I recommend taking a ride on the historic 1880 train from hill city to keystone
Love this suggestion!
No mention of the Mammoth Site or the Mitchell Prehistoric Indian Village? As a South Dakota native, I can state with absolute certainty both those places are infinitely more interesting than the Corn Palace.
TOTALLY AGREE!!
Have been to all but the reptile place. I'd add Spearfish Canyon and Deadwood to this list.
We recently paid a visit to SD pre pandemic. Had a great time, stayed in Hill City, SD but did visit Badlands and Mount Rushmore before moving on west. We drove past Wall drugs but didn’t know that it was a must see tourist destination. Next time. Thx for sharing and safe travels
Oh man! Been there. The Corn Palace is number eleven in the top seven. Lackluster!
We just returned from our trip to South Dakota and we didn’t go to the reptile place but we did stop at the Dignity Statue in Chamberlain SD. We did visit 6 out of the 7 Top things to do and we had a great time. While we were there we also visited Deadwood. Weather was great and fun times in South Dakota.
Awesome! Glad you had a great visit.
Great faces great places
Lake Oahe is paradise found!
Planning a five-day trip to SD and found this video helpful. Thank you. Seems wild and crazy and fun to sell your stuff and travel. Best wishes!
Have a wonderful trip!
Aberdeen Storybook Land at Wiley Park a must.
You're the second person to mention that. Definitely on our list for when we go back!
Duuuude love the editing! Adopt me
We were for 3rd of July. Did everything in your list an more
Nice!
We retire next year. We always wanted to see Mount Rushmore. We're hoping it will still be there!
Why wouldn't it still be here?
That's a dismal outlook. Better be careful. Threats to Mount Rushmore are taken very seriously!! It's a sculpture of great magnitude!!!
We use to stop at wall drug all the time going out to the Minutemen sites
Then there is the national music museum in vermillion s.dak they have the largest collection of musical instruments in the country and 1 of the largest in the world.
I have a connection to the 1 that started the national music museum cause 1 of his sons was married to my cousin
How did you not include Spearfish Canyon on this list?
Jewel Cave & the Mammoth Site
Don’t forget Jewel 💎 Cave
I've lived here in South Dakota for 19 years of my life and I think rapid city is one of the best places to be in South Dakota
Except for the cell phone reception stinks out in that area if you dare to venture outside of Rapid City much.
You guys should plan a trip to Kansas
We have actually been to Kansas, but didn't get too much time to explore. Tried the barbecue and it was amazing! We'll have to go back though someday.
@@OurMillionAdventures ya you guys should come back when you have more time to video your adventure
