I can't believe Prince Philip is played by THREE Game of Thrones actors
He was Daemon the Rogue Prince, Edmure Tully and the High Sparrow
Please can you reconsider the ridiculously loud music that comes on at the end of your clips
Yeah, it's way too subtle. They should make it louder. 🗣️
Alright grandpa chill. Get a juice back or something.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
DANIEL AKA KEVIN !! 🙄🙄🙄🙄🥱🥱🥱
Agreed. It's obnoxious (like most of the others who've commented on this thread). Volume normalization or at least a fade-in would be fine.
Blunt: "To be quite blunt, sir .... "
Philip: . . . . . . .
I like the fact they have Blunt Clearly look stressed at the end after Philip walks away. He’s excellent at hiding his true thoughts and intentions, but it doesn’t mean they’re there..
In this scene, with the leverage Blunt had over Philip, it was ludicrously strong, BUT that doesn't take away the sheer, polished, brass cahoonas/balls it took for Blunt to deliver it to Philip. If Blunt didn't have the leverage, I very much doubt he'd have DARED threaten Philip in the slightest, for it would have been a death sentence, I'm sure.
IF the threat took place. this is a drama after all.
@@mariahoulihan9483 I was referring to this scene.
@@SceneArtisan then don;t write like its REAL then.
@@SceneArtisan death sentence..lol.. where is your mind? are you British.. we don't live in Russia you know.
@@mariahoulihan9483 I suppose you think: "In this scene" qualifies it for being real?
I remember and admire this scene for it serving as a very well-written illustration of brinksmanship. That's to take nothing away from Blunt's treachery. Rather, it highlights how carefully we need to handle even those who we believe have no..."out".
He who lives in glass houses or castles should not throw stones
Sam West is such a brilliant actor. Love him and how he champions the arts.
I never liked Thatcher but I respect how she stood up in Parliament, in 1979, and coolly revealed Sir Anthony Blunt as the Fourth Man.
British spies are often forgiven for helping the Soviets before WWII ended BUT the Nazis & Soviets invaded Poland at the same time,
it was pre-arranged during talks for the Ribbontrop - Molotov Treaty. A non-aggression pact that made many western reds abandon Soviet communism.
So when you hear "I helps Russia because they were the only chance to defeat the Nazis" know that Russia was allied with the Nazis - for the first 2 years Britain fought Germany.
Yes, not many people realise that.
For every thousand TV programs
repeating ad nauseum the crimes of the Nazis,
one might chance upon one
detailing a crime by Communists,
yet the list of the dead, tortured and maimed
by Communists
is probably a thousand to one
against those of the Nazis.
/
exactly why we dont need any western reds
That's right. They used to even trade together quite a bit. Like entire trains full of raw materials and foods. When the nazis attacked apparently Stalin couldn't believe it and he disappeared for 3 days.
@@OffGridInvestor He couldn't believe it because his Intel told him that The Nazi's had no Winter weather gear. It sounded extremely dumb to him because if you read about the WWII Eastern Front...it pretty much was. Even Napoleon couldn't beat Russian Winter.
The moral of the story is.....be moral...always, even if you believe no one is watching.
That's the very definition of character.
Keep coming with the crown videos ❤please
I second that
I like this partnership Tobias Menzies and Samuel West, they are brilliant
love what he says in the beginning. crawl away!!
The scandal is still being covered up today.
I mean his dead already so there is no point to talk about it
@@adventuresconjuan*he's or he is
Whoa he was involved in what? 😂😅
And you know because you were there?
Samuel West played the same role in Cambridge Spies!!
yeah, it's like Michael Sheen playing Tony Blair, or Ian Holm playing Napoleon, in three different movies each.
seems to be the British thing.
@@nitzky8936 and Peter O'Toole playing Henry II in _Becket_ and _The Lion in Winter_ which were unconnected productions.
It's funny hearing the phrase "Believe you me" uttered in such a posh accent
I had a great aunt here in Australia, it was like the Australian version of "keeping up appearances". She used to bang out a few "believe you me". Her mother was the daughter of an exceedingly rich gold mining CEO. I kind of wonder if she didn't pick it up from her mother who was from an upper class background.
It's archaic, and posh people are generally conservative about culture, including language, if not other things. Chaucer, Shakespeare, and others occasionally used the v/s/o ordering for imperative emphasis, which is why it is still used.
A wonderful actor. I liked him better as Siegfried.
Hi, can someone explain what is happening here?
Google the Profumo Scandal.
As in Anthony BLUNT .. in more ways than one ..
Please tell this Yank what’s been insinuating
Google the Profumo Affair. Prostitutes, Senior government ministers, Soviet spying etc.
Since when did Blunt look that good? He was a weasel.
Siegfried Farnon! ACG&S
Blunt was threatening him with painted or drawn portraits, not photos.
and how do you know this. I loved the way he put Phillip in order!
@@andrewskerritt3688 2:00 Philip makes it clear that they are drawings. Blunt doesn't indicate that he has any photos, just subtly threatens to release the portraits.
BTW, I posted this because the video's description claims "Anthony intimidates him stating that compromising photos of a former member of the royal family linked to the Profumo Scandal may come to light."
@@andrewskerritt3688 I remember much of it from years ago in the news. I was a child but got hold of a copy of the News of the World when I wasn't supposed to. i read about it all. I was quite young and Mother was horrified. Dad for you.. bought it every Sunday morning. lol. I also recall reading about Jackie Kennedy.. before JFK was assassinated .. and her overspending as First Lady.. they did a huge piece on it.. what she was spending on clothes in Paris fashion houses and on the doing up of the White House. all big news at the time.. early 1960s. I also remember where I was when news of Kennedy's murder was aired.. watching a newsflash with my parents at home in England. My Father sank into a chair from standing and clearly said to my Mother.. God help us all now that that man is dead. It shook the world.
@@dlxmarks a FORMER member.
@@mariahoulihan9483 And that's the other problem with the video description. Which former member of the royal family was mentioned in their conversation? It was all about threatening Philip.
What did Prince Philip do?! Oh, pray tell here!
He was behind the two way mirror. He liked to watch.
@@Concreteowl NO evidence whatsoever of that. He was so devoted to Her Majesty our Late Queen that I doubt it very much. VERY much.
@@mariahoulihan9483 He had affairs.
And the sad thing is.....The yanks (and most probably alot of british ppl) think this is all real.....
Who are "the yanks"?

How utterly boring these gents are. Puffed up personalities in expensive suits. Bah.

Good for Blunt for putting Prince Philip in his place!!!!
you know its a drama, right.. NOT a documentary?
Anthony Blunt was definitely a questionable individual, a slimey character. But Philip was an arrogant asshole, so it’s refreshing to see someone shut him up and bend the knee a bit in this scene.
Questionable? An outright traitor
@@johntomlinson6849 True. Yet the whole thing was hushed up for 20 years to avoid scandal. Not necessarily this one, but at least the scandal of someone living in Buckingham Palace being found out to be a traitor.
Boy, isn’t that the truth ….every word you said. The public doesn’t have the real portrait of who Phillip was at all. His arrogance/ elitist personality was utterly disgusting.
certainly not. A very admirable person for all his faults@@gracie3174

Oh my god, i know what this is about. Prince phillip was inloved with stephen ward and that stephen ward had sexual pictures and fantasy of him and that is what these drawings where about. That is why stephen killed himself. Stephen had a love affair with prince phillip.
