Hi Jane and Stew, Pat was a charmer, I saw a cheeky wee wink in there when he was instructing Jane on the pony and trap driving. Great video guys, can't wait until the next episode.
Always happy to see people enjoying the Irish spirit! I have many cousins in Ireland and consider myself blessed to be related to some of the kindest, most charming and insightful people…the people of Ireland!
Some fabulous scenery and locations in this episode. And what a lovely surprise to get to drive the horse and carriage. Looked like a moment of real joy x
Thank you for showing one of my favorite places and activities. ❤ I didn't drive the horse and trap or jaunting cart, but what a Fun and Beautiful ride. All the drivers are a wee bit of a flirt I believe. Or maybe I had a relative of Pat's in 1990. We went up by trap, but came back by boats on the three lakes at the Gap of Dunloe. I highly recommend this for anyone!! As a side note, while riding our horse and trap, we saw them filming an Irish Spring soap commercial. It was a fine, bright and lovely day. I'm glad your trip was amazing too, and good on you Jane. 👍
The van barber is a good idea. Great way of saving on the cost of a shop. We love those days where unexpected things happen. Makes for an exciting trip. Do you think you will go back to Ireland at some point?
Thank you so much 🥰 It wasn’t hard though - Ireland just kept on giving everyday. One of the best places we’ve ever been to for sure. So beautiful and we were made so welcome. Jane ☺️
Ohh Jane what a wonderful experience and what a beautiful place to do it 😎 absolutely wonderful! You deserved the ice cream and what better excuse can you have 😁 Loved this vlog, thanks for sharing. Em 💜
Nice scenery. Hard to find just the right spot! Important to feel ok though. Pleased you got rid of your rubbish in the end. Castle sounded interesting. Brilliant experience with the horse and trap. Well done. Earned the ice cream!
You brought back some great memories of my own trip there yrs ago w my mom. It was her first and only time she was able to make it to Europe…we were able to see many of the places that you and Stew have been to…amazing time!
Loved the pony and trap ride. You have made Carol very jealous. It will be on our must do list for when we go to Ireland again. Glad you got some good weather and the scenery was amazing. Looking forward to seeing the Ring of Kerry 😀
Beautiful scenery as you drove. Nice to see the sun come out for you at times too. Interesting re the litter disposal issue. Interesting facts re the old door and beds too - hadn’t known that either. The highlight must’ve been that fantastic treat of driving the pony and trap - a rare chance! 😊
Thanks Sue yep we always learn something when you speak to experts and the ride probably was a one off we were so grateful for Thanks for watching and above all commenting - hope you are well and getting into planning mode
@@getawaygeese I’m good thanks. Been a hectic start to the year (preparing a house for sale) but things are beginning to ease more so planning is definitely on! 😃🚐👍🏻
@@getawaygeese I’m not moving myself (that’ll be in the next year or so - fresh start). This is a rental house I’m selling after having a nightmare tenant and realising I’m not cut out to be a Landlord 🤣🤣
Fantastic, Pony and trap, what great fun, lucky you. The " whistle sound" at 6.12 is a Sika stag "roaring" as it would be rutting season (mating) He was declaring that this was his area. The two deer at the castle were sika hinds. I wish I was a bit younger to be able to go to Ireland as you have shown how wonderful a country it is. once again many thanks for sharing. ATB
we was there not long after you ,there had been a lot of rain and the car parks were under water at ross castle lovely place though and we managed to drive through the gap but we was told the local council dont encourage it as seen on your video the views are spectacular and well worth seeing
That’s the great thing about van life isnt it. You never know what the day will bring. We are on another trip at the moment and yesterday we popped into a cafe for a coffee and ended up on our hands and knees crawling through a tunnel in a cave 😂😂. Jane
Jane looked as if she was having fantastic fun in the pony and trap, it looked terriffic. Am really enjoying your Irish trip ( Irish myself, live in Dublin) Looking forward to your future eposides.
Hi Guys, cracking episode yet again. I hear you might be back doing the North West Coast this year, if so, look us up, I'll give you as many top tips as I can, It's a beautiful spot, well worth the effort, I can also give you a quick guide of North County Dublin if you happen to be coming in off the ferry in Dublin. Watching you guys here from our overnight stop in Carlingford, County Louth.
Thank you so much. Ive screen shot this so I remember. I reckon we have 2 more visits to finish what we want to see. So will be grateful for any tips. Keeping our fingers crossed it will be this year ☺️ amazing place. Jane
@@getawaygeese great to hear from you, yes the North West and North East coasts are magical..... You could literally split the country in half and run from Galway City, northwest up the Wild Atlantic Way, then over the Glen's of Antrim, Mournes, then down through the North East towards Dublin....sure give us a bell when and if you fancy before your next trip.... Stay safe and looking forward to your next videos!
Jane you arrested a natural( a tip,put vaseline at tips of your nostrils, when near horses or others allergic too, I have similar allergy, works a treat). My grandad was known as Jock,he was a jocky and had a horse and trap. Jane you were super, mom's gap is beautiful. Ross Castle is my fave place in Kilarney, so beautiful. I hope ye got to the stone circle on Kenmare,a lovely place. Loving this series.
@getawaygeese nettle tablets and nettle tea are good for natural antihistamine too. Oh it does, we absolutely love camping here. Always finding something new.
I think in the UK your waste collection is included in your council tax, here it's not. We pay private companies to collect our waste. Before waste collection was privatised there were bins everywhere but some prople dumped their waste in them to avoid paying hence public bins are in short supply now. Nice video as always.
Yes opposite approach and from what we saw the place was generally tidy so we sort of got it by the end - just wish there were more for those touring but it didn’t really get in the way
Hi Stew & Jane, what a laugh brilliant vlog, I reckon one eye on Dolly, and 2 eyes on Pat, what a rouge 🤣 you guys are doing a brilliant job showing the best of Ireland...I also see you shared your Clonakilty pudding with life is to short 🤣, sharing is caring, your Clonakilty subscribers.....🤗
What a fantastic video once again love coming with you on your travels so entertaining and informative about your whereabouts, safe travels looking forward to the next one 👍
Great video glad you liked the pony and trap. Unfortunately an American couple died in 2018 when the trap went down the embankment
Yes we read that just before we went on 😱 How awful. We were on the quieter bit thank goodness. Jane ☺️

Thank you glad your ok - one of Janes best memories
Wow the horse and trap looks absolutely fantastic, what an awesome experience.
Thanks for watching and commenting - it was a lucky encounter with Pat who just made it for her
Stew… my first rule of van trips is that if there is grass in the middle of the road then it’s not a road! 😂
Yes and we have found if there is grass it’s more likely to be an adventure 😂 hope you are well

Ah I see so that’s bloody stressful then but also a relief I guess
This was so awesome and I think Pat was flirting with you, Jane.
Lol I had one eye on him - stew - no wonder Jane was loving it - he was brilliant
Pat was great fun - even though I kept calling him Pad 🤦♀️🙄😂 jane

Thank you for watching and taking time to comment
Remember going up there 30 years or so ago. Walked up the pass though - just started work so short on ££!
Thanks for watching it was a great place I still wanted to go up the gap mind you in Harry 😂
Stu the sound you heard was a elk I believe. We have elk in USA and I have heard them. They sound very similar to that sound.
Ah ok then it probably a stag then as no elk in Ireland - I thought it was a bird of prey to be honest 😂
Love your videos, my favourite couple😊
Thanks so much 😊
Jane that looked fantastic fun. The scenery was stunning. Take care Gill
Ireland just keeps on giving doesnt it !! Jane ☺️
