Your old boyfriend did not dump you. He set you free to face the challenges from which you needed to learn. And look at where you have excelled. I admire you, Lisa. Your mental strength and determination amaze me. We should all have it together as well as you.
After my 28-year marriage ended in divorce, I thought life for me was done. I was a single mom to a 15 year-old, went to college and worked full-time. A few years later I reconnected with a friend from my past and fell in love with him, walker and all. He is now in a motorized rehab wheelchair full-time and needs much assistance from me. We are so happy and life is full again. We have survived a home fire and have a wheelchair accessible van once again. Oh the places we go and the things we enjoy! Disabilities do not define a person. You GO GIRL ❤🎉
My wife is a c4 injury she is my greatest friend. When we were young we biked all over her on a hand cycle and me following along on a two wheeler I would push her up grades and we would “race” down the other side. We raised a family and have enjoyed a great life together now we are older and limited but I would not trade our life for anything or anyone. My bride was injured when we met we have 3 girls and 11 grandchildren. Girl you rock!
The one thing I never thought about with UA-camrs but I have learned after seeing so many hiking UA-camrs is the effect being a UA-camr has on your hike. You mentioned towards the end of this video that it wasn’t too long of a hike. I participate in a veterans cycling group that is run through a non profit to help disabled veterans with physical and mental disabilities. Many of the riders use a bike that pedals with hand power rather than leg power and during my first meet up with the group, I kind of felt out of place on an upright cycle. Everyone likes to fit in when it comes to groups. When we started the ride we quickly came to our first incline that I found to be quite a challenge for my legs but I was in awe at the adaptive cyclist hauling ass up that hill and left me playing catch up. Anyway, I am hitting the road next week to start my adventures, it was originally planned for December but I am having problems in my back that quite possibly could eventually lead to either assisted walking or a chair. I told my brother the other day that I need to go as soon as possible while I still can. Between my cycling group and your inspirational journey, I realize that my possibilities are only limited myself. Thank you.👍
Hi Lisa, thank you for sharing especially about your private life I know it’s tough sometimes a person with a disability. Some people don’t look at you. Don’t look at your disability before they even talk to you in 2018. I had a major truck accident and lost my right leg above the knee, but not only learnt, I had fractured skull brain damage 550 mm of my spine. Fused up with to titanium rods 15 multiple breaks in my ribs, my right lung exploded and had six blood clots in it, but fortunately the doctors could do keyhole surgery and so it back up my right leg had skin graft which was an issue in the beginning. My right hand was under a truck wheel for an hour and a half now we’re going to remove my fingers and I told him no way, not only that when I get home I had to get my house completely changed in the bathroom etc etc life was cruising along, and then my wife of three years six months decided that she could not live with a one legged man packed stuff and left It was a bit scary at first, but fortunately I am a pretty stubborn bastard within three months of having an accident I was independent in the hospital the doctors told me I was going to be in hospital between 10 and 12 months I thought to myself no way I’m gonna live like this. I work so hard in the gym. They released me for months one week and one day I had to do three psych test to get my car license back within seven months to the day. I was back driving a car which was so good. I have a left hand Excelerator and a wheelchair hoist so my wheelchair can be on the roof of the car I’m happy to say I have two dogs and life has good. I also ride a motorbike three wheel canam ryker and November last year I bought a space pod camper which I had to modify a little bit so makes it easier for me so I can go camping. I just want to thank you for your inspiring life and stories that you share with us. Lots of love and appreciation , Cliff from Logan City Queensland Australia 🇦🇺
Greetings, I am a disabled veteran. I have degenerative arthritis in both knees and my right foot. I have about 20% mobility. I mostly use a wheelchair and occasionally a walker. Retirement is coming up in about a year. You have convinced me that I have the ability to hit the road and enjoy nature. Maybe not in a van, but I was thinking a class a toy hauler or a class c toy hauler. That way I could carry my wheelchairs and walker. Thank you for the motivation and inspiration. You are great.
Oh there are so many options for vehicles out there! And for mobility aids to help those of us that need it explore the outdoors. I hope you’re able to hit the road in style soon enough 🤙
Hi Lisa and everybody! Isobel Lake. Got it. Thanks! Absolute bucket list goal. Can't wait to be doing it! Never been in that part of Canada. Everybody is right with that guy not knowing what he let slip through his fingers. Sorry for your hurt. Like you said though, "Right where you are supposed to be." That saying helps me make sense of things too! Was wheeling around the White Mnts. of NH. just yesterday. You're rubbin off on this future vagabonder! Peace!
Love to see how your channel is evolving and growing! My husband and I just celebrated our 40th anniversary as an inter-abled couple. It can work ... but it's a journey for sure. Take care of your shoulders! :)
Congratulations on 40 years!! Outstanding! Oof, I’ve already had 4 surgeries on my right shoulder. I wish I could say I was bionic now but that’s not the case. Sticking to “gentler” sports like biking, swimming, and paddling these days.
You are so amazing and beautiful. As someone else said, that guy didn't dump you, he set you free. My father was in a wheelchair so I do understand the"looks"and whispers but you are so amazing. Never let anyone tell you that you can't, you can do anything.

Hello fellow Canuck. I love that you are doing this channel. This is a fantastic idea for showing so many people all the possibiliries in a wheel chair. You know ... the former BF is too young to realize that over time activities and interests change , therefore what he thought were important common ground relational activities, are actually only temporary , relatively speaking. The things that i used to get involved with ten years ago are no longer a big deal these days. Having the right person in your life is . Sure common interests are awesome , but emotional maturity is more important . Someone down to earth.... someome realistic ...... someone positive. Sometimes you just have to meet a lot of friends before you find your significant other .
that individual did you the biggest favor, it shows that they didn't want a relationship with someone who has any kind of disability, I am a wheelchair user and I see the looks, the ignorance stupidity of those unable to appreciate the simple luxury's of walking, standing, running, reach for things, getting into place not so user friendly, and so, if people could only experience what we go through for a week, they may change there outlook, at least for awhile, you got the looks, the determination, and a positive outlook, even when you feel unsure
Oompa Loompa is the one who lost out! I love your outlook on life and focus on the positive, you are right where you're supposed to be! Happy Trails and keep the videos coming Lisa! 🙌💖
Seeing the sign about the low-mobility trail and assuming it was in Canada made me take a look to see if there are any US national parks with low-mobility trails. 10. There are 10. That’s something I never thought about. Your comment about those trails being good for people who need to stop and rest a lot really caught my ear. Thanks. And yes, I am a VanCityVanLife Subscriber and came here after seeing you on his channel. I think you’ll be seeing a lot more subscribers come over .
I have sure felt the support from Chrome's subscribers, thanks for being one of them! It can be disheartening that there aren't as many low mobility trails, but there are organizations making a big commitment to improving accessibility in the outdoors, and I'm grateful to be around for this time. Cheers!
That hill did not look like nothing, that would be so difficult! You are unstoppable and truly inspiring. Very interesting to see an accessible trail and its strange there aren't more around! Now that I realize, I don't think I've ever truly seen an accessible trail.

For the first time we watched your video with Bob. We have to say that you are such an inspiration and courage. There's no excuse for not reaching for the stars. You are an incredible gal. God gave you challenges and you are jumping over them. We complain about our life when something doesn't go right. You have really inspired me and actually you have a gift. Many blessings ❤❤❤❤

Well my guess is that guy couldnt deal with his internal intimidation. Amazing people often have to deal with that. Thankfully he didnt waste any more of your time and hopefully you can find someone worthy of your amazing character. If not, you might come to find that nature and good friends can often be much better companinonship then mediocre romantic relationships. I was introduced to you when I watched your interview with Bob. Had to check out your channel to soak up some more amazing inspiration. Thanks for sharing your inspirational life on You Tube!
You’re an inspiration to many…I’m a 56 year old man who loved to hike it really broke my heart when I could not take those long walks anymore. Back problems and nerve damage etc. I will never stop loving the outdoors since it saved my life ! I hope to see more adventures to come !
I am 63. Had open heart surgery about three years ago. Now much better. So have been considering vanlife for the future. Have been looking at vans to buy. Watching this video inspired me to look harder and move faster to get the van. Thanks!!!
Can we just talk about the video dedication to get such great angles going down hill and having to climb back up to get her camera 🤯🤯🤯 this girl is BAD ASS!!!!
You are amazing and beautiful! My Ford van looks like yours, but it's electric rather than gas. I went through a few months when I lost strength and a lot of sensory input from my lower legs and feet. I was diagnosed with a rare progressive sensory, and autonomic neuropathy under the umbrella of muscular dystrophy. It's a hereditary variant, that can be triggered by other unknown factors. I don't know if, or how it will affect my walking in the future. I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing and hope nothing changes for the worse. I recovered somehow, but still have mild relapses now and then. It was just enough to scare me and give me a taste of what challenges others face. You are an inspiration. I hope I have a chance to meet you someday.
I would love someone to share stuff with. That fact that the person you were with could not discover the same stuff and have adventures with you. That dude really missed out. That's life tho, we all miss out on some stuff but can gain others.
I saw your interview with Bob wells. You are an inspiration to everyone with a disability. If you come to the RTR in Quartzite AZ in the beginning of January. I would like to meet you. Keep up the adventures Bill the VegasWanderer61
So glad that person dumped you. You are living life to the fullest. If there isn't a website already. You might want to consider putting one together that lists what everyone finds when they get and see the trails. Happy trails.
Bless you young lady! What a wonderful video and full props to you. Respect off the charts. Inspiration. You give hope to all humans everywhere that we can overcome anything.
Your videos are very inspiring because you have been showing an amazing ability to turn a passive into an active and flexible life ,where you are i control and not the weather or any other man-made obstacles. Many thanks for sharing your abilities and adventures with us. There is so much to learn and to follow from UA-cam videos, indeed!
Just saw your interview with Bob .. really great guy! I used to work in a hospital ER, ambulance, and as an orthopedic tech. I've always had a great deal of emp/sympathy for people with disabilities. One of my friends from the past had an accident on parallel bars and became paralyzed from the chest down .. we had some great experiences (we weren't a couple) before her accident (back about 1975) so before the internet, fb, etc. It was great to finally connect with her again on FB .. and remember some of those memories again .. shortly after that she passed. Fast forward to about 1990 or so and my wife and I met a quadriplegic who had been shot .. he met a girl who took good care of him and they married. He was the main man who organized and implemented a large food bank in Arkansas and later in Kansas? .. filling a warehouse with donated food from various places. Many people came to the store and bought food at a good discount. Later he moved on to other projects. I just wanted to leave you with those two memorable people .. life flows like a stream forward .. things happen .. use the greatest asset you have .. your mind! Watching you climb that steep incline brought tears to my eyes! I subscribed .. you never know who you will meet around the next corner of life .. or what life has in store. You're a champion!
You’ve lit a fire under my old bones. Truly you are an inspiration! Love to you and wishing you many more perfect days. I saw your van tour on Chromes channel this morning and just had to come pay you a visit. Keep Chrome and crew in your life, he gathers great people around himself and you are definitely great people. Peace 😎😊
You're a great inspiration to me. You have challenges and you set a course and a plan to adapt and grow and overcome them. I understand quite a bit of what you are going through. I'm disabled too, since 1988 when I was 17 years old. I had a traumatic head/brain injury and whiplash which left my right side paralyzed. I've had a fractured jaw and a fractured larynx, collapsed right lung and a fractured right ankle. And I was in a coma for 3 weeks and in 4 hospitals. I was on life support for 3 weeks also. I've had therapy to help me walk again and learn everything all over again. Since I had a fractured larynx I have had 3 surgeries on my larynx to help me to be able to speak louder and to sing in Church. I miss singing and sounding good. Well none of the surgeries helped at all. Hmmm...oh well.. I am still able to volunteer and help/work at a Classic cars and Hot Rods shop.I started out with yardwork and landscape maintenance and things have gone very well since then. My boss has taught me how to operate his tractors and equipment and now he trusts me with all of his equipment. I've been there since 2005 and it's been great. Since my whiplash from the wreck and the paralyzed right side, the damaged nerve in my spinal column has been and is leaking fluid. This fluid is putting pressure on the nerves which are for my left arm to function. I am still able to volunteer and help with some things, but I have to take things slow and careful to get things done, but I do get things done just slower than everyone else. I have scoliosis and I've had a back injury and so I use a cane when I'm not working to help with walking. I'm disabled and slower, but I still have a zest for life and I consider work fun and therapy for me. And since I have very few friends I enjoy being busy with chores and volunteering, staying busy. Again I thank you for your kindness and sharing your story, you're a great inspiration to me. Always the best for you. Glass is half full or overflowing. I have been to British Columbia, Canada in 1990 with some of my family. We went to Gibsons Landing and then we went by boat over to Keats Island for a week long family camp, from Focus on the Family. Canada is a nice place. Take care and safe travels. Keep smiling 😊🤗🏞🌄🧭⚘
.. wellllll... I try not to 😅, .... despite always being in discomfort and varying levels of pain all the time, I always try and keep a positive attitude. I laugh at myself quite a bit 😮😅,when I am busy and I forget to do something else because of a brain fog moment. I try and imitate a fog horn at the coast and I make myself smile and laugh a little. Take care and safe travels 🇨🇦⚘👍🏼

Dog gone you Lisa that hill climb was awesome, thank you Bob for finding this woman
Yes thank you Bob and thank you for being here!
Just subscribed. Great job on your video with bob. Much love from homosassa fl.
Thanks for finding me 🙌
Of course look forward to watching all your videos. Your a inspiration.
Lots of love and appreciation , Cliff from Logan City Queensland Australia 🇦🇺
wow you've had quite the life. I'm stoked you have a Ryker and camper now, those things must have been life changing
Greetings,
I am a disabled veteran.
Peace!
Take care always from a new senior fan from bohol Philippines.
I was there a few years ago. Now in Dumaguete.
@@senseofstile enjoy your stay. Take care.
i admire your spirit.
Just found you thru Chrome Vancity Vanlife. Admire your spirit an mind set to not give up. Your special
Thank you so much for tracking me down, I hope you enjoy the channel
That's a beautiful trail & lake😍.
Thanks for takin' us with you.🌻🌻🌻
Glad you enjoyed it, it’s one of my favorite places.
@@Keepinitwheel306 I just saw your mini-clip of you paragliding, surfing, mountain biking and I gotta say you are a wonderful dose of positive life-loving energy!
I've got a few disabilities, but not gonna let em hold me back anymore. I'm almost done building out my camper… just a "no build, build"😄. Maybe I'll see ya down the trail! ✌️🏼🌻🐾 Well, headed west in the states anyway. Not sure my old lady bones can handle the cold in Canada. 😂😃
I started out in my SUV so can totally appreciate a “no build” setup! I don’t handle the snow or cold well either so I’ve become a snowbird and love it!
You are one incredibly strong woman!! My husband and I greatly admire you and what you have achieved. Keep going girl!!
thank you for the kind words
❤I am so thankful to have found your channel. Thank you for sharing your adventures, you rock, girlfriend!!!!
Welcome!!
"Fear thoughts." Love that term. Perfect. I'm going to start using it.
Haha I think I actually use that term again in my next video…it should be uploaded in the next day or two *shameless plug*
I’m new here I’m so impressed by you. Your an amazing inspiration 😊❤
Welcome!!
Wow! What a beautiful spirit and person. I was so touched by your positivity and grace. Thank you for sharing and giving me inspiration in my own adventure. Bless you and keep being a strong beautiful woman!

It allows us to admire and better understand those who share your condition. You have renewed yourself with a remarkable vision. Be proud of it. Your message deeply resonates in the hearts, as evidenced by the many comments. Bravo, Lisa, and thank you so much for sharing.Sincerely, M.L.
What wonderful words, thanks for sharing them with me 🥰
A wise person said, “If you’re not doing something to make someone’s life better then you’re wasting your time.”
You, my friend, have just enhanced and inspired countless people. You have done a lifetime of good in just one video. ❤
Wow thanks! Huge compliment !
Love your video. Wonderfully shot and so transparent and vulnerable and freaking strong of heart and spirit. Glad I saw this today. I appreciate you in this world so very much. Keep on keeping on. You ROCK.
Oompah Loompa guy must have been dropped on his head as a child. You are amazing. Your story brought a few tears to my eyes. Cheap RV dude said you were a badass and was right. You're a catch.
I love that everyone is also referring to him as Oompa Loompa! I giggle with every comment.
Thanks for listening to good old Bob Wells and for tracking down my channel 😀
You're unstoppable. Love it.
Wow, thank you!
You are an inspiration!!! The only thing that will limit you, is yourself. The old boyfriend didn’t deserve you…. 🇨🇦☺️
Snow and sand limit me but that’s why we have snowmobiles and ATV’s ;)
Thanks for tuning in!
Strong willed woman. May God bless and keep you safe. Cheers from oregon.
Imagine if you had not been dumped you might never discouver your power what you are capable of. The lord works in misterious ways his miracles to perform. Youare amazing. Take care, nature talks to those of us who are willing to listen.
You know I can watch this video over and over and get something different out of it each time.Because of you sharing your strength and maturity, and your ability to edit a stellar video some of us can get up and say "F'em" and get out live , really live. Thanks
aw thanks! in case you DO get bored of watching the same video - I just uploaded a brand new one for ya!
Beautiful woman, beautiful soul, beautiful human being. Thank you for sharing your story.
Thanks for watching!
You’re so right, I like your perspective. I’m content on my own until I meet the right person so no worries for me
that individual did you the biggest favor, it shows that they didn't want a relationship with someone who has any kind of disability, I am a wheelchair user and I see the looks, the ignorance stupidity of those unable to appreciate the simple luxury's of walking, standing, running, reach for things, getting into place not so user friendly, and so, if people could only experience what we go through for a week, they may change there outlook, at least for awhile, you got the looks, the determination, and a positive outlook, even when you feel unsure
I think you’ll be seeing a lot more subscribers come over
.
Stumbled on your channel through another & you rock,as others have said his loss your gain, speaking for myself, some not all are not afraid of your disabilty, but you independent I can spirit, they're are I guess intimidated by your can do spirit, just be you & rock it in your own way 🤙🇺🇸
It was funny, the cameraman and I had the same reaction at the same time. I was like "ah shit she's booking it!" I'm glad you are enjoying yourself and happy that nobody holds you back.
Cameraman? You mean me? 😂
I film everything by myself.
@@Keepinitwheel306 No when you were first trying out the mountain bike coming through that trail someone else was recording.
@@gregldailey oh yes, that makes sense. I forgot that was in there. That was my brother laughing at me.
@@Keepinitwheel306 You were ripping it, that was totally awesome.
It felt so good to have the wind in my hair, so to speak!
Hello Lisa, appreciate everything you share, I’m watching Friday, October 25 9:30 PM. I’ll watch for the next one until then peace and chicken grease😁👍👍👋👋😎
I'm so glad Bob introduced you to my channel. Its just getting rolling so stay tuned and thank you for the positivity.
I just found you on bob wells channel, cheap rv living and i was so inspired by you. You are a beast, no limits for you! Most people with out dis abilitys dont do what you do! Its refreshing to see ur journey, be safe lady🫶 and screw him, he wasnt who god has picked out for you🤗he's 10× better than that dead beat! 💯
Awesome video as usual, your van door gave out the sickest beat at the beginning
@@Suki_the_half_blue haha I really need to get some lubricant on that thing. Thanks for watching!
I am currently watching your video with my niece who is also wheelchair bound
and likes camping in the woods and taking long trails in the wood
I Have converted a wheelchair for her to use in the woods
which she enjoys a lot
We believe that people should not judge someone else for what they cannot do
But try to find a solution that can make it possible
We also have deep respect for your perseveranse
Have FUN and be SAVE
That’s great to hear you were able to create a chair for her. Well done 👏
The accessible bathrooms throughout trails are such a great touch
I was so excited to see them haha
Well my guess is that guy couldnt deal with his internal intimidation. Amazing people often have to deal with that. Thankfully he didnt waste any more of your time and hopefully you can find someone worthy of your amazing character. If not, you might come to find that nature and good friends can often be much better companinonship then mediocre romantic relationships. I was introduced to you when I watched your interview with Bob. Had to check out your channel to soak up some more amazing inspiration. Thanks for sharing your inspirational life on You Tube!
Thanks for reminding me! And I agree with what you said I am also glad he didn’t waste more of my time
You’re an inspiration to many…I’m a 56 year old man who loved to hike it really broke my heart when I could not take those long walks anymore. Back problems and nerve damage etc. I will never stop loving the outdoors since it saved my life ! I hope to see more adventures to come !
I hope you find a way to get outdoors again. There are many options for mobility devices these days.
You do so amazingly well, I can only imagine how strong your upper body is. Again, thanks so much for sharing your adventures.
Thanks! Large pipes kinda come with the wheelchair...I don't mind :)
I am 63. Had open heart surgery about three years ago. Now much better. So have been considering vanlife for the future. Have been looking at vans to buy. Watching this video inspired me to look harder and move faster to get the van. Thanks!!!
Right on!!! Get after it, Vanlife is the best life for some of us 😀
The sky is the limit honey, you can do what ever you set you mind to do don't ever let nobody tell you any different
Can we just talk about the video dedication to get such great angles going down hill and having to climb back up to get her camera 🤯🤯🤯 this girl is BAD ASS!!!!
I loved every second of it but thanks for acknowledging the effort 😀
@Keepinitwheel306 your amazing!! You deserve all of your desires ❤
Hi just found your channel and thank you for sharing. Looking forward to watching your videos. ❤️👋🏻😀Sask. 🇨🇦
Heyo 👋
Welcome! You’re one of few people that will understand where the 306 comes from in my UA-cam name 😀
I would love someone to share stuff with. That fact that the person you were with could not discover the same stuff and have adventures with you. That dude really missed out. That's life tho, we all miss out on some stuff but can gain others.
He came into my life for a reason…. to ignite my adventurous soul!
WOW she is so cute.
I saw your interview with Bob wells. You are an inspiration to everyone with a disability. If you come to the RTR in Quartzite AZ in the beginning of January. I would like to meet you. Keep up the adventures

@@Keepinitwheel306 I hope so it's fun and educational
So glad that person dumped you. You are living life to the fullest.
If there isn't a website already. You might want to consider putting one together that lists what everyone finds when they get and see the trails.
Happy trails.

It was awesome to see you hiking that trail. I can only imagine what it means to be able to have access to nature in this way. Thx for sharing!
Realizing I could still access the outdoors absolutely change my life! Thanks for watching
I like how are you worded that “ life flows like a stream forward”, it’s so very true

You are inspiring! We all have some kind of limitation in life. Your spirit is infectious.
Indeed we do! Many people’s limitations aren’t visible to others either.
Thanks for being here.
Some years after this shitty experience you made more experiences than many "normal" people have and will do their whole life.
You are great. 👍
Aw thank you
You're a great inspiration to me.
Sounds like you don’t let things slow you down much at all, right on!
.. wellllll... I try not to 😅,
.... despite always being in discomfort and varying levels of pain all the time, I always try and keep a positive attitude. I laugh at myself quite a bit 😮😅,when I am busy and I forget to do something else because of a brain fog moment. I try and imitate a fog horn at the coast and I make myself smile and laugh a little.
Take care and safe travels 🇨🇦⚘👍🏼
Yeef! After seeing you ascend that incline, then watch you free-wheel back down, I thought "HEY!! You forgot your camera!!" (face-plant) Still, you went back and got it or we wouldn't be seeing this. Anyway, really nice vlog! I'll be watching for more!
