Well done Len! You were mentioned in today's Inaugural address by Madam President Paula-Mae Weekes. Len you were our guide several times when we came up on our pilgrimages to see the turtles each year. You were always our favourite guide and your passion and enthusiasm was infectious. You are an inspiration and a blessing for these magnificent creatures
You can go and volunteer. There is lots of programs around the Carribean that you can take part in and help. I am in Costa Rica at the moment doing just this. I decided to come after watching blue planet 2 🐢😊
This feels like I am watching a short film but it's actually a true documentary based on how we have to care and protect these animals because I am pretty sure they deserve the Earth more than humans
This takes place in my country and not only do these guys help protect the turtles when they are laying their eggs but they also help the babies when they hatch since they are so vulnerable to predators as they try to reach the ocean. I’ve stayed near the beaches several times when I was younger to observe both the egg laying season and the babies hatching season and both events are marvelous to witness. They are amazing creatures and I’m so glad that guys like him are looking out for them ☺️
I live on the beach where I see loggerheads laying their eggs. They struggle to reach a spot above the tides (only to encounter animals and even humans who take advantage of their extreme vulnerability). So glad for growing awareness to save these creatures (at 110 million years, among the oldest on earth).
I never thought that this guy is the narrator of blue of bbc earth.. This guy is awesome, legendary voice and a good samaritan.. Loveyou from Philippines
2 Reasons. 1 : The unnatural light that is coming from the right 2 : The horrible UA-cam compression that happens especially for dark scenes making the video a pixelated color banding mess
Thank you thank you so much Len Peters for helping to protect these amazing creatures and also for educating the community and youths. 🙏 Looking at the wonderful work you are doing I feel so proud to be a Trinbagonian! 🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹 Protect the leatherback turtles!
That poor turtle 😂. She just tryin to lay her eggs man! Imagine giving birth while dozens of strangers stand feet away snapping pics and recording the whole thing lmfao
Great work. Love how he go against the stream and made people ended up respecting him and his work The animal is majestic. Hope the species will thrive
My sister sent me another video about this magnificent leatherback crawling on a beach full of people. I saw some comments about the video people thought it to be photoshopped so I came here. All I can say is wow, just wow what a beautiful and unusual looking creature!!! I agree, more needs to be done by humanity as a whole in order for this species to thrive. Btw I love Blue Planet and this narrator keeps you coming back to watch more of these majestic animals.
One time when me and my cousin went to Los Cabo’s we came across a sea turtle that was like 2-3 feet big and it was like half buried and so we pushed all the sand off of it . And in like 15 minutes it had made back to sea with 3 other baby turtles 🐢 ❤️❤️🐢
It’s so sad to see when my country used to be one of the place for these beautiful giant leatherback turtle to lay their eggs during before 2000. The population drops drastically. Would love to see this beautiful creature again here one day.
In the last 2 months, there have been dozens of nest hatch on our beach here in the Philippines. Locals now protect the nest with enclosures until they hatch.

Sometimes those poachers do it to help their family. If there are better ways to support your family, the poachers not longer poach. At least the ones who are not evil, and are simply self interested whom I'd guess make up the vast majority.
1982Lazarus You are doing something bad because this action helps you more than it hurts. If people are given better options, most will take them. If you give people the option of family or turtle, they will pick turtle. I know I surely would. You and I are both lucky that we live in situations where our lives are comfortable enough that we can have insignificant discussions about turtles on the internet and not have to worry when our next meal will come or if we will be able to provide the basics for our families. It’s a feel good thing to us because either way we have little to gain or lose.
The old man wouldn't like it if a leatherback turtle just walked in his house and started to narrate about him taking a dump.
