When you said, "have they never seen a woman?" I couldn't help but think of Dr. D, David Schultz telling Gene Okerlund, "I went looking for a WOMAN!"
Jessy is a good man through and through .
He even tried to help his fellow workers by starting a union .
Absolute Respect to Jessy .
I don't care what anyone says this was the best era in wrestling.
Nope. Cena ruthless aggression
@CheapJabroni baha just no, jabroni
I agree the late 80's in the WWF was the golden era of professional wrestling
Without question.
@@CheapJabroniNice trolling.
OMFG that rope spot where Ray Traylor crotches himself, is absolutely PERFECT.
If Jessie had succeeded at starting a union Owen Hart would still be alive today. Thanks a lot Hulk Hogan.
2:55 check out the crowd reaction to koko’s top rope dropkick. That’s one of the main things I miss in modern wrestling. If this match happened today, the fans would be sitting on their hands.
Bruh that was a legit drop kick and and legit crowd reaction
Yup. Nothing means anything in today's wrestling cause it's all a spotfest with 0 story pretty much.
I think a big reason why the main event is so good is because of the respect Hogan had for Andre and also because they are all such great workers
That crowd stood on its feet after Koko hit that dropkick from the top rope. Awesome!
Never take a snake's gender for granted. I was told my pet snake (named Damien, obviously) was male, but when she turned six she suddenly started laying eggs all over the place. Gorilla knew whereof he spoke.
Your memorial for the parrot was very touching, guys. :D
🥇 congratulations 🎉
but the parrot is still alive
The fact that Jesse wanted to start a union would suggest he wasn't out for himself.
heh... but who wanted to run the Union? Jesse. Always look for the power grab and who stands to benefit :).
Also, during the Mega-Powers celebration just before Savage catches Hogan hugging Liz, there's a moment where Savage is in the corner taking in the cheers of the crowd when Elizabeth is trying to get his attention and he acts somewhat aggressive as he heelishly shoos her away. It wasn't just the Hogan Hug that dropped hints of future events, it's the little subtle moments in that corner that caught my then 15yr old attention.
Noting that Bossman was TWENTY FIVE YEARS OLD in this match.
He looked about 45000 years old
The end still frame with Hogan's music playing is Is genius
Jesse looks like a pirate referee
He was doing his best Hogan/Superstar remix 😂
10:30 LMAO!!!!
Way to end the show fellas! We all knew what was coming and you didn’t disappoint. Nice job
Savage socked Hogan in the eye.
You have me and my kids in stitches
This channel is great - a proper laugh.
Love the Sim City music for Frankie.
Andre isn't transfixed he's yelling for Jessie to count.
Wow I finally get to see what Mark and Peter look like. I thought Mark was going to be a giant and Pete was going to look like Enzo LOL 😂
Wait- This ISN'T Enzo's shiw????😢
😂 When they were describing slick's friends lmao
😂you guys are having way too much fun lol
"Rigid." best line ever.
Jake's theme tune was like a more upbeat version of Sycho Sid's.
That ending!!!!
I'm really enjoying the channel. This is basically how me and the chaps that I work with pass the time discussing the madness of wrestling. I watched the Stone Cold / Booker T video and we had had the exact same conversation a few days earlier.
I’ve said it before you guys should work your way through every Raw/Smackdown/Nitro episodes and do commentary videos on all of them from the first ones. You’d be making videos for years to come and you’d have more and more people watching your hilarious takes.
My favorite part of SummerSlam 88 was the Powers of pain debut I love the powers of pain👆 they were scary
The snake spot troubles me quite a lot. Poor thing must have been overwhelmed with all the light and noise and getting chucked about.
The better Demolition Vs Hart Foundation summer slam match was Summer Slam 1990 as it was 2 out of 3 match
Died when I heard the SimCity on the SNES music.
Hand on her ass at the end was Perfect!!!!😂😂😂
Slick Pimp Walked so Stokely Hathaway could run and then fall over.
4:43 no you're right, it's like a Michael Mann film
Great wwf wrestling summerslam 1988 was ive got this as well on tagged classic dvd good video upload 👍
Virgil get over here and clean my shoes...calm down Ted 😂
Summerslam 88 immortalised in the WWF Superstars Arcade game ("no one beats......Megabooooookkkkkssss")
🥈 👏👏👏
✌️
How Boss Man hits the ropes and doesn’t take the ring over with him I’ll never know. That’s a big boy right there.
I know right? I was always in awe of how well he moved around the ring at a high speed...his agility was better than most guys half his size
@@samspurgeon4222I first saw him as a slimmed down version at Wrestlemainia 7 against Hennig and I was blown away at how fast he was he was probably faster then Perfect
Demolition were excellent . Far better than The LOD
Demolition was a GREAT team and criminally underrated! The Hart Foundation obviously was great.
Demolition was OVER rated! They were over like nobody's business and looked like auto mechanics in bondage gear. They had no right being that over
Love the Hart Foundation combo move where Anvil does the powerslam and then he powerslams Bret from the 2nd buckle onto the oppo afterwards........ We didn't see it anywhere near enough...... They set it up in this vid but don't follow through with it.... I think they only time they do it on PPV is vs BrainBusters at SSlam 89.
Im fairly sure they did it at Summerslam 1990 against Demolition
You definitely do still see tag ropes, I don't think they ever got rid of them in WWE (they did in AEW ). I notice them in use most in recent times in matches with the Usos, or Sami Zayne and Kevin Owens. They don't ever address the tag ropes, and I don't think they enforce having to use them, but you do still see them in a lot of the tag matches in the WWE.
Elisabeth's rose dress in this match is so pretty and glam. I'd hate to have to rip it or take it off as well. Well, and to have to go down to pants in front of drooling neckbeards and mouthbreathers.
Oh, I loved the ending to the main event. I first watched this slightly after the fact, would've been after WrestleMania V (so, spring or summer '89) as a 14yo, and with his parents in our living room, in a sorta laid-back, albeit still conservative '80s household. When Liz took her skirt off, my dad cracked up. I'd not been _allowed_ to watch wrestling just a few years before this. I don't know if it was because it was too violent, or there was some social stigma attached to it, or what; however, most of my friends were into it by this point, so they watched this event with me. But at that moment, my parents just sorta got it, understood wrestling as the silly, innocent kind of cartoon it actually was.
Wassup with Superstar Billy Graham's shirt??? Ray Traylor, " Big Boss Man", was one of the nicest people I ever met. Koko was one of the toughest guys in the locker room. Ask Steve Kiern. Don't mess with Koko. I saw Boss Man with Hogan at Thompson Bowling Arena in Knoxville in 88 and that was the first WWE show there after Continental folded and before Cornette set up Smokey Mountain Wrestling in 91. Andre made 500k $$$ for this show. Transfixed on Elizabeth's bits. This did not age well. lol
"Rigid." Needs to be on a t-shirt
Big Andre loved dropping them h's... "Ulk Ogan!"
Ah the 80's....by the Goddess I miss those days.... well what I remember of them honestly.. LoL
love summerslam 88 great video guys
Ventura covered his arms because he had lost miscle mass by that time. Same reason Savage wore long sleeves in TNA.
Great laugh to this as always 😂🚀
Something that bossman and slick have in common is that prisoners would hate them both. Correctional officers and human traffickers are hated by prisoners.
2:39 that’s his clients.
"Repressive giant police state monster" 😂💀
🥲 The Frankie thing kind of made me chuckle and tear up at the same time. I understand Frankie died in a fire. That hurt me to hear. I know that Koko loved that bird like it was his kid. I had birds as a kid. I kinda get it.
Boss mans head not rolling off tho
Hogan would sell for Andre because the consequences of not selling for Andre would be painful for a long time.
Hogan always sold for Andre because he was afraid not to.
Tiny little Koko
Great!
La mano di Hogan sul culo di Elizabeth alla fine è da antologia
LMFAO You hear these guys laughing and making connections as to how a pimp (Slick) knows a cop, and Bolsheviks- THAT is what I miss about wrestling. As a kid, it's all magic. As a teen, you start to crack jokes with your friends about the ABSURDITY of wrestling. Like why did the IRS wrestle in the early 90s. Hes a tax man!! What did he do, leave the office and go straight to a local arena to fight? 😂
Likewise, wrestling is a competition or "sport", but why did wrestlers feel the need to occasionally go to their opponents houses and beat up their opponent in front of their wife and kids? LMAO!!! Why was there a wrestling convict in an orange jumpsuit performing in an arena full of cops that work security?
Dibiase should have been legit champ at some point in this era. Maybe from one ppv to the next.
Different times/different approach to booking + It was a babyface fed.
Piper, Andre, Ted, Bad News, Rude, Perfect...... In a parallel universe they could all have had title runs.
Dibiase should have won the 89 Rumble though 100% no doubt. He cheated by buying a number from Slick and came in last... It would have been the perfect way to rehab his character after being foiled by Hogan & Savage for a year.
Can somebody name the song in the intro luv it!
More SimCity SNES music ☺
Thing is, Elizabeth's character was so pure.. She may as well have been 100% NUDE right there. LOL
Another mission for WWE's Most Wanted - the bottom half of Miss Elizabeth's dress.
I don't think anybody would want it now....😂
Can you imagine how much DNA has been deposited on that thing by now
@@JoesUncleBosey I'm pretty sure if you threw it from a ring now, you'd have to toss it like a frisbee....😂
The idea of non-binary snakes had me laughing a good bit there... Hell yeah, I'm all for Gorilla "queer ally" Monsoon haha
We were royalty as kids and didn't know.
Are you lads going to All in tomorrow?
Marc is mate! Pete's over in Japan watching DDT
The luster
There all of Slicks Girls clients of course lol
Weird take on BossMan here...... This match is as good as it gets for him?
That's wild! His title matches with Hogan were great....The whole Twin Towers/Mega Powers thing was main event for 4/5 months....... Then he got to put the nightstick to Dusty......... His face-run was superb also..... Amazing work-rate for a big man too.
A friend and I would make this joke during the Elizabeth's little walk of shame where everyone is transfixed on her, we'd yell out "A WOMAN'S BARE SKIN" as we're both alluding to Andre the Giant being far more animated in his reaction to Liz as he's pointing at her and making the most ruckus while the other heels are just looking on in bewilderment at the sight of a woman.
🦜 Sim City Super Nintendo music.
When you know you know
Sherry was sexy but
Liz was absolutely stunning
She was in a different league
Not Gorilla turning WWF into the World Woke Federation for Damien 😭😭😭😭 the GOP would melt down today 😂😂😂
The skirt was transformed into a boomerang
Jesse should have disqualified Macho & Hulk for touching the referee during the count.
If you want to count something said by commentators, count how many times Jesse and Gorilla say, 'absolutely', during WM6. Its pretty much every other word on the PPV. Luckily its my favourite PPV so I don't care, but they say it a hell of a lot!!!
Pretty much every PPV from around this time one of the comms gets into a mental rut of saying the same phrase over and over again.... LOL
Jesse:
"Absolutey"
"Positively"
Monsoon:
"It's a happening"
'Right in the kisser"
@@airfixx_8952 I'd love to see an official count of all of these phrases/words!
🥉 🤷
Every time I look at demolition I think I will never understand how they got so over. They look like guys that should be working at an auto parts store or something. Like they like to wear bondage gear after their shift
I know what you mean, Ax especially always looked like your mates dad after a hard night out!! But despite this I think they worked really well, they got that balance right where you always thought they could be a threat, but they could also lose to anyone so their fights were always hard to predict - they just made it more interesting than those you know would win every time.
😊😊😊😊😊😊
frankie is still alive ..... wtf
Elizabeth looked fine. You guys are making something out of nothing.
Didn’t Frankie die in a fire 🔥 ?
Elizabeth is just one of those people in wrestling who was an absolute sweetie, but also completely out of her depth.
She was too pure for that world. Loved seeing her on the mic in ICW.
Shame the DM kid didn't get the push he deserved .
He was the best 👌 ever .
The British Bulldogs and the
Hart Foundation could of been in amazing matches ..
What do you mean could have been? They feuded for nearly a whole year.......
@@airfixx_8952
Didn't know that .
i'll have a look .
Cheers kid
All the best 👍 .
It always struck me as weird seeing "Mega powers" Scrolled on hogan's ass
I'd have loved it if he was so egotistical that Macho gets this New Robe Made and Hogan just wears the same tights as usual 😂
Like he didn't even dress up cause he knew the belt was coming back 🙄
That happened later... I think Survivor Series.
Slick was supposed to be a street preacher not a pimp
RIGID
Elizabeth was a trad wife before trad wives.
To be fair. Frankie probably out lived most of if not all the wrestlers from that show. Parrots are known to live upwards of a hundred years... 60 to 80 isnt uncommon in Captivity if cared for proper.
You don't think he's a team player because he attempts to organise a union?!
2:00 - "Both of them are as good as they'll ever be in this match."
Mmmmm, nah. Big Bossman would get even better as his WWF run would go on. I'd say he hit his peak of pro wrestling ability somewhere around 1992 or so, after he finally turned babyface and slimmed-down considerably.
However, yeah this is probably the peak of Koko B. Ware (whose middle name is still a mystery to me....🤔🤔🤔) and both his pro wrestling ability *_AND_* career.
It's sad though that ol' Koko Ware never managed to really be anything beyond a glorified jobber during his WWF run. They didn't even let him have a brief reign as WWF Intercontinental Championship or WWF World Tag Team Championship.
Haha....sim city music
