  • As the 1 year update video with this car is currently the most popular video on my channel, I figured there might be a few people interested in a follow up! So here is the 2 year review of living with our 2020 Toyota C-HR Limited.

Switching into SPORT mode gives this car a pretty big power/speed upgrade, unfortunately, the next time you start the car, you need to turn it on again. I'm pleased with the power it regularly has, SPORT makes it more fun.
    Good video.

I'm in the UK, I have a 2 litre Hybrid. Mine is the same colour as yours but not the black roof. In the UK it's referred to as the 'design'. The CVT auto transmission takes getting used to but I love the car. With a combined 184bhp, the 1.8 litre offers 140bhp combined, it can accelerate quickly ideal for overtaking. My record mpg is 80 but there were a lot of descents down long hills so with regenerative braking and power harvesting just going down hills that figure was exceptional. Average town fuel consumption I would say is around 45-55. The only thing I find a little annoying is when going past parked vehicles on both sides of narrow roads the info panel between the instruments flashes red the bleeps and I'm getting a 'brake' message on the afore mentioned panel. No doubt this can be cancelled somehow but when I first had the car the warning is only shown for a few seconds and is distracting
The sat nav tends to lag giving turn indications late and the voice gives to much info. Apart from those niggles I love it. One other point in two years its done just over 10.000 miles and the front tyres have 4mm of tread left! I'm not a fast driver, the dealer informed me the CH-R is heavy on front tyres.

I drive in Germany an orange edition with hybrid engine 2.0 since 2020. Number of times I was faster than more powerful cars when kicking it flat is amazing. All of this while keeping it in eco mode. Mirrors not folding happens also, I noticed it happens almost all the time in winter, is parked outside so maybe that’s why. I just disable self folding when temp goes below 15 C and is ok. Blind spot is default in all new Toyotas and saved me from many troubles. Diamonds I love, piano black is nice if you clean it every day 2/day :)))over all, after 3 years I still feel is the prettiest car in the parking lot. Despite living in Germany with lots of bmw, Audi & porches around.
So don’t think twice if you want one. Just test it and you’ll see. Hybrid model is highly recommended

Can the back seats fold flat and is the back large enough for camping and sleeping?

Back seats do fold almost flat. It depends on height but it's not a super big car so probably wouldn't be comfortable if you have more than one person.

You get about 36 cubic feet of cargo space with the back seats folded down flat. Test drove a 2021 CHR Nightshade Edition.

Such a shame it's not hybrid. Here in UK love mine because of having 55mpg on motorways driving at 75mph and in town too with general driving.

In Asia we only have the 1.8l and 1.8l hybrid. Luckily our gas is very cheap.$ 0.70usd/ liter

I like the car except it just seems so dark and dingy in the back seat also blindspots put me off .
