I bought a 2021 CH-R. We drive a lot and put 120,000 km on it already. Such a reliable car, not one issue and great gas mileage. No regrets with this car.
Thank you so much for this honest apraisal. We've ordered one, pick it up in two weeks time and, since signing the contract, I've been going through the usual "oh-my-god-have-we-made-the-right-decision?-did-I-research-enough-beforehand?" roller coaster. Now I'm reassured. Cheers Steve
I own a 2021 CH-R Dynamic 1.8 and I love it. Would definetely recommend buying one.The bonus is when you get your car serviced at a dealership they put an additional years warranty on it , up to 10 years.
I have the 2018 CHR XLE Premium. I LOVE it. No problems with it so far. Thanks for your review. I call it my Goldilocks car because it's not too big and not too small. It's just the right size for my needs:) Cheers!
My 2018 will be six years young this month. Red/White XLE. I only have 45.7k miles on it. Got the CVT fluid flushed at 30k. Will get the CVT filter done at 60k miles or earlier (age?). No issues with that problematic K114 - yet... I have an Arduino box with CANBUS - I use a rocker switch to change drive modes and DON'T have to use that stupid menu 😁
Man my husband T boned another car. The other car was making a u turn in front of my husband. My husband was doing 47 mph. When he hit the other car. It totaled the car. But my husband is ok. We feel blessed and feel the CHR protected him. It is a strong car and we are going to get another one. We have the CHR Limit 2019
I just bought previous week xle premium 2018 1.2t manual with 50k klm and is the smoothest car I ever drive very very happy with my choice I am in love with the car!
Got the C-HR 2 litre hybrid GR Sport earlier this year, very comfortable even with the slightly stiffer suspension set up & very relaxing to drive, also pretty nippy & also frugal at the same time. It's the only car so far where someone has asked in the carpark what is it 😂
@@SteveCorwood I upgraded but not to the CHR like I wanted... they told me that 2022 was the last year to have them. They are not making them anymore. :(
I love the futuristic design of the exterior and I will be seriously interested in the all new model when it's in the showrooms in the UK which is imminent I believe.
I love my C-hr. I understand it is a scion with a Toyota badge. It is super reliable, low maintenance cost, excellent fuel economy and more. The hybrid is better than gasoline only engines, so consider yourself fortunate.
@@SteveCorwood oh wow, that's impressive😃 I drive just alone usually and I think maybe it won't be enough space for all my things there... but 6 entire souls in this car, dude🤪
I really like the design of the car, I think before the introduction of the 2023 model it was ahead of its time, and still holds up in 2023. I really do think this car gets too much hate, more than it deserves. I think ppl are being ultra-picky. As they say, you either love it or hate it. If you're the type of person that likes to be independent and separate from the crowd this is a great option. In terms of speed, disregard its "slow" badge that everyone loves to slap on this car. Its an exaggeration that is unfairly leveled at this car. It will be perfectly adequate and suitable for 99.99999999% of average drivers, which is most ppl.
Why the hell can’t we get the hybrid version of the CHR( I call it the Celica High Rider) in the U.S.⁉️ I love Toyota but they do some real stupid mess sometimes.
Looking for a new car as we speak, the appeal of a Toyota and the looks of the CHR puts it high on the list, the Important thing for me is comfort and a smooth ride(My back is knackered) . I have a Qashqi that has been great, hired a T Cross to see what that was like, a very disappointing experience and I guess all the VAG cars will be similar, so will have a close look at the CHR and the Hyundai Kona. I appreciate the review, I much prefer the honesty of the end user.
Too bad you can not get that awesome 2024 C-HR. I don't care much about the GR version, but the one below rocks the box. So many features in the 2024 model. And OH, they put a real switch for drive modes. I think the 64-color ambient lighting a bit kitchy. I like the full camera rear view mirror - no issues when passengers are in the back. Not sure what the thing is on top of the steering wheel column on the 2024 - for the auto parking feature? - distracted driver safety sensor?
Recommendation on your second car is definitely a Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid! Lots of positive reviews on UA-cam. Should be available in June, but check with your dealer in your area. Always make sure you drive it, ask all your questions, and do not rush into buying any car b4 you are sure. If your wife knows more about cars, then take her. Do not get emotional with the salespeople. You will get taken advantage of!
Thanks for the feedback, I’m most definitely not trying to be a snob, I am a CHR owner and this video highlights the exact opposite. It’s a video that highlights that you should buy a CHR.
One thing that really bothered me about C-HR is the sound isolation. It's so horrendous that we can even hear it in this video, and I'm kind of struggling to hear what you're talking about. It's mostly due to the poor isolation of the floor. CVT also contributes to that.
Blind spots are definitely there but it’s compact and for reversing the camera is great. Inside is a little dark but I never gave it that much thought until you mentioned it. 🤣 Thanks for watching 👍
don't buy. The car has issues with the transmission. 50 miles, I had to have the transmission replaced. Luckily it was under warranty. Now 4 years later...more issues with the transmission. If you have one...get an extended warranty or trade it in asap!
100% agree on North American models. serious bearing defect in the K114. Unfortunately for us US folks is that Europe and the rest got different transmissions (With the 1.2T and 1.8 plus hybrids) and got a great car.
