"we bow to no king" This always reminds me of the King of Gondor, son of Arathorn. Yes, the meaning does change, but that's why I love it so much. Aragorn: "My friends, you bow to no one."
See, I thought that was a reference to A Song of Ice and Fire and how the North views the politics of the south. We know no king but the King of the North and all that.
As you walk into a busy inn, you hear the sound of music, it sounds extremely familiar, a sense of deja vu starts to creep up to you, you're mesmerized by the song, it almost has a hint of magic in its melody. You look around, trying to find the source of the music. A tabaxi waiter comes up to you. "Welcome to the Come On Inn!" He greets, but then notices that you're focused on listening to the song, he smiles. "Ah.. The song fancies your interest, huh? It attracts a lot of customers. One day, no one remembers exactly how many years ago it was, a bard came into our inn, has been telling everyone about his heroic acts ever since. He hasn't left the inn all these years, says he's waiting for someone. Do you maybe know anything about who he might be waiting for?"

And their song was heard over the hills, throughout the kingdom, inspiring and uplifting. As they marched across the land, their enemies fell to their knees, for they were unstoppable, with their song, they overpowered any force that came their way.
Okay, now I need a version that's slower, more bitter, and a little sarcastic. A dark reprise. Like someone is standing alone in the battlefield in the aftermath, surrounded by the bodies of enemies and allies, grieving all of them as dearly as family members, and is overcome with how utterly *pointless* it all was. Men fighting and killing and dying, for some imaginary thing called "glory". Like the person used to sing along with all their comrades, chest puffed out and full of pride and valor, and now everyone else is dead and they have nothing left -- nothing but the song. Please? *puppy dog eyes*
Streets of Gold is essentially this, where the bard has fallen to despair as all his comrades are long dead and he feels anguish as he walks through the world they helped save
I listen to this song and a flood of memories of friends and adventures of the past come back to how I miss my friends and the adventures we had, thank you for a great song.
This makes me think of a few random people from the present getting dumped into this past fantasy world and got stuck with this tribe with weird culture, food and dances. As they get dragged into the middle of a battle, caused by a long going war, they have to work together for their survival, and bond. After the battle, all the modern people are willing to fight for the tribe's cause, and are all partially experienced fighters now and know what they're getting into. They decide the next battle would be at the "Gates of Hell", and the Protagonist [who has been trying to get the present people to get along with the tribe from the beginning, being modern himself] starts singing. The present people give the beat [the claps], while a teenager who has been 'captured' while playing the guitar [and therefore still has it] was one of the first to have wanted to be friends with the tribe [being the youngest one there, innocence ya know] and starts playing the guitar which blends in with the...polkas? Idk, those instruments at the beginning, forgot what they're called whoops. And it's supposed to represent harmony and bonding and evolution, as they slowly get out of their shell while singing and the present people start to hum/sing? and the guitar guy sings along with the protagonist [the higher pitched echo at the end] and all is well. And at the end there would be either the protagonist or the leader of the tribe saying: "We're here." Just an idea, but wouldn't that be neat? EDIT: also, the protagonist would get the idea to sing after the leader asks what a 'Traveller' is, and gets the urge to explain in the best possible way humanity can
God DAMN, I had chills throughout the entire song. I don't know how you managed to make an amazing theme song that applies to basically every fantasy game in existence, but I applaud you for it. I'm probably going to be listening to this on repeat for days.
"Each verse of the song is a different fantasy game universe, can you guess where the Traveler has been?" Where has he been seriously? Obviously the world of darksouls, path of exile and guild wars but where else?
The first one, I think, is The Elder Scrolls-perhaps specifically Oblivion. The second part of the first verse is Dungeons and Dragons. And I think that at least part of the second verse is the Diablo universe Also nice name+pfp xd
PhoenixQueen77 you can see where verses end and begin in the description and the problem with thinking that the first verse is elder scrolls is that it would include the line “won by the bond of the party we made” even though you never make a party. Actually you do in elderscrolls online! So if every line is a different game it would be sing for the lost for eternal affairs (arena, find a lost king) sing to raise our spirits in great despair (Morrowind. Cure a plague) Through the ashes of oblivion (oblivion) Quick and unseen like the dragon offspring For we owe no depth and vow to no longer (skyrim, Dragonborn and civil war, from the stormclock perspective) Every war has its cost and we’ve paid Won by the bond of the party we’ve made (elder scrolls online. The only game where you win a war with a party)

I always think of this song as dedicated to the "Traveler" from Critical Role, but having heard this come up during No Man's Sky, I love this song even more.
Great opening song. This was the first Aviators song I ever heard, and I feel it makes a perfect “first song” by them: “Traveller’s Song”, the opening Act in the great Aviators saga.
I have listened to this song a lot but only tonight I have started to actually hear Aviators singing in a higher pitch during the 3rd verse. I can't believe I never really caught on to it before tonight. My mind was blown when I did finally catch it. Great job on making such an awesome song, Aviators! :)
I'm currently writing a fantasy book, and I've been searching for songs to listen to as I write. This song fits perfectly. I can see my protagonist singing this with his ragtag team of explorers.
This is so amazing. It fits with close to every fantasy setting, but has a none generic feel to it. It doesn't feel like it was made for a specific story, but not one that will instantaneously merge with all either. Yet it's impossible to not see the painting of a small band of travelers, weapons and shields on their back, and at their hip, merrily walking and singing. Amazing song. Amazing music. 10/10
I'm sad we have barely any real bards anymore, we need more stories and myths passed down by song and epics like Odyssey, Edda and Kalevala. Written word and books are wonderful, but I would be sad to see bards disappear.
They certainly still exist, though. Bob Dylan in the US. Bulat Okudzhava in the USSR. Jacek Kaczmarski in Poland. Perhaps Jaromir Nohavica in Czechia also qualifies. And many more incredible artists who document and popularise tales of history, past and present.
every time i hear this song i get this sense of nostalgia like it was part of an early 2000s action movie or TV series. i wonder if anyone has made a music video for this song
This is so cool! Reminds me a lot of the Final Fantasy games. Especially 2 and 5! Just makes me imagine the heroes singing this song with their allies. Awesome job, Aviators!
when you think the traveler in the title refers to the protagonist of genshin impact (since everyone calls him/her traveler), but realise that the song is 2 years older than the game. Guess the lyrics fit for a surprising amount of fantasy themed games. A really nice song, I have no idea how I didn't hear of it before now. On my playlist of background music for playing it goes.
References to the ancient times, of an unknown future. As we see the past in perception or fact, we see how they journeyed as travelers down paths we now know are outside the references of the referenced living or prophesized before and during the past times.
Now with this song, I really want to go on an adventure now, with dragons and angels and all magical creatures. Awesome fantasy vibes, I really can't wait for Let There Be Lit album, especially when it will come together with Dark Souls Remasteted
I've listened to fantasy songs for years and happened to stumble across this song. I LOVE the song! The instruments, the singing, and the vibe is what I've been looking for. My new favorite song, keep up the amazing work!
Why are there no Lord of the Rings comments? ... Well now there's one...... Did anyone else immediately think of Bilbo's travelling song from the books?

"Second chances don't come cheap

Unabashed by our defeat
Spite the bloodstains on these cobble streets

Lost to fiends and lords of wrath

Of the secrets and lies that we seek to hide,
that could destroy us from the inside.
Everybody's got a story they must tell,
the adventure that came before we fell.
The motivation that drove us on,
put us on the path to the glory we won.
So, everyone raise your glass,
and remember to hold fast,
the tavern is the home we know,
where fine stories and ale flow,
that we return here when our journey's done,
and we can rest in the setting sun.

Wow. I need to hear this sung because the lyrics are awesome (though i can't make out a melody)
What's it called

An excellent beginning. Here's to the next turn in the road!

"we bow to no king"
This always reminds me of the King of Gondor, son of Arathorn. Yes, the meaning does change, but that's why I love it so much.
Aragorn: "My friends, you bow to no one."
See, I thought that was a reference to A Song of Ice and Fire and how the North views the politics of the south. We know no king but the King of the North and all that.
*When the bard rolls a nat 20*
I love this

yes it is!!!
Actually, it's beaten by just about every other music artist out there.
His voice is very, very weak.
Those are fighting words, Len...
I feel like Mr.Ulrich here has some songs that could easily be classified as better than Aviator's.

I found this song lost year and was like:
"Damn that's a good one!"
But then I lost it and couldn't find it anymore and began panicking bc I always had the verse of 'we bow to no king' in my head and now, good a year later it's TheRe

Sing for the lost, for eternal affairs
Sing to raise our spirit's in great despair
Through the ashes of oblivion
Quick and unseen like the dragon's offspring
For we owe no debts and bow to no king
Every war has it's costs and we've paid
Won by the bond of the party we've made
Warn with a call that the battle starts now
As the demons listen we strike them down
Fighting back the rifts of blood
Sent from the sky lies a angel in need
Give him muse to strengthen and words to heed
Heaven's doused and set alight
We're knocking on the gates of hell tonight
Broken swords and dragon's bones
Scattered on the way back home
Beating to the sound of clashing steel
When they're on our heels
Now chant the tales and legends told
Strengthened by the hymns of old
Weathered as this winding road is long
So we sing our traveler's song
Play out a spell in your sequence of chords
To inspire and sharpen our rusted swords
Echoing the whisper of the trees
Creep 'long a path where
A thousand bards failed
From the thick West Tyrian jungle trails
Come from afar to set prisoners free
Into dark tangled depths from the open sea
Broken swords and dragon's bones
Scattered on the way back home
Beating to the sound of clashing steel
When they're on our heels
Now chant the tales and legends told
Strengthened by the hymns of old
Weathered as this winding road is long
So we sing our traveler's song
Second chances don't come cheap
So keep alert and on your feet
An ancient spirit's song will
Heal our wounds unabashed by our defeat
Spite the bloodstains on these cobble streets
A message to the gods to see us through
Ever heard, yet rarely sung
So raise your voice and praise the sun
I call a new rebirth to keep us strong
Countless souls along the path
Lost to fiends and lords of wrath
But we'll return to play our final song
Broken swords and dragon's bones
Scattered on the way back home
Beating to the sound of clashing steel
When they're on our heels
Now chant the tales and legends told
Strengthened by the hymns of old
Weathered as this winding road is long
So we sing our traveler's song

Hm.. Perhaps a wish will be granted.
@@deathfromthedepths 👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀

Streets of Gold is essentially this, where the bard has fallen to despair as all his comrades are long dead and he feels anguish as he walks through the world they helped save

This song IS D&D. Over and over again, it just gets stronger. Thank you. That us all.
I listen to this song and a flood of memories of friends and adventures of the past come back to how I miss my friends and the adventures we had, thank you for a great song.
Saw ‘Fantasy Rock’, was immediately interested and was not disappointed
this makes me remember so many storys and games, Skyrim is one of them and this song help me create storys of my own
This makes me think of a few random people from the present getting dumped into this past fantasy world and got stuck with this tribe with weird culture, food and dances.
And at the end there would be either the protagonist or the leader of the tribe saying:
"We're here."
Just an idea, but wouldn't that be neat?
EDIT: also, the protagonist would get the idea to sing after the leader asks what a 'Traveller' is, and gets the urge to explain in the best possible way humanity can
steppenwolf Thank you!
God DAMN, I had chills throughout the entire song. I don't know how you managed to make an amazing theme song that applies to basically every fantasy game in existence, but I applaud you for it. I'm probably going to be listening to this on repeat for days.
honestly, i have so much love for this song. and the vid to it is lit as well. great, great work!
"Each verse of the song is a different fantasy game universe, can you guess where the Traveler has been?"
Where has he been seriously? Obviously the world of darksouls, path of exile and guild wars but where else?
The first one, I think, is The Elder Scrolls-perhaps specifically Oblivion. The second part of the first verse is Dungeons and Dragons. And I think that at least part of the second verse is the Diablo universe
Also nice name+pfp xd
PhoenixQueen77 you can see where verses end and begin in the description and the problem with thinking that the first verse is elder scrolls is that it would include the line “won by the bond of the party we made” even though you never make a party.
Actually you do in elderscrolls online! So if every line is a different game it would be sing for the lost for eternal affairs (arena, find a lost king) sing to raise our spirits in great despair (Morrowind. Cure a plague)
Through the ashes of oblivion (oblivion)
Quick and unseen like the dragon offspring
For we owe no depth and vow to no longer (skyrim, Dragonborn and civil war, from the stormclock perspective)
Every war has its cost and we’ve paid
Won by the bond of the party we’ve made (elder scrolls online. The only game where you win a war with a party)
@@Mr_Maiq_The_Liar My thoughts were that it was two seperate fandoms in one verse-though I see what you've said, I'm still pretty sure that the second part of the verse is D&D
One is diablo,
"Warn with a call that the battle starts now
As the demons listen we strike them down
Fighting back the rifts of blood
Sent from the sky lies a angel in need
Give him muse to strengthen and words to heed
Heaven's doused and set alight
We're knocking on the gates of hell tonight"

I always think of this song as dedicated to the "Traveler" from Critical Role, but having heard this come up during No Man's Sky, I love this song even more.
Great opening song. This was the first Aviators song I ever heard, and I feel it makes a perfect “first song” by them: “Traveller’s Song”, the opening Act in the great Aviators saga.

I'm currently writing a fantasy book, and I've been searching for songs to listen to as I write. This song fits perfectly. I can see my protagonist singing this with his ragtag team of explorers.
How is it going?
This is so amazing. It fits with close to every fantasy setting, but has a none generic feel to it. It doesn't feel like it was made for a specific story, but not one that will instantaneously merge with all either.
Yet it's impossible to not see the painting of a small band of travelers, weapons and shields on their back, and at their hip, merrily walking and singing.
Amazing song. Amazing music. 10/10
This is such a beautiful and amazing song. Thank you so much for making this
I need 100000000 more songs like this - great songs that can honestly apply to any fantasy world.
