When the bard is the only surviving member of the party, there is no Traveler’s Song for the path home. Just the lonely silence, walking these familiar roads... these Streets of Gold.
The scary part about this song is how relatable it is. A song of misplaced hope in a world with a seemingly grim future; but misplaced hope is better than no hope. It's a bittersweet symphony, and it's my favourite track on the album for that reason.
I almost feel a reply to that would be "My lone hero standing tall, moving through the pain and fall. the moon is rising as I strain my ears to hear your weakened call. You've a thousand more to roam. And when you feel lost and alone, never shake the feeling I'll arange the stars to lead you home."
On our broken road where is my guidence love of old. Weaken and weary I ve laid down in streets of gold path of stars left from the wars in this time. A hero is you when blue it rains for you.
Sometimes you give everything you have, fight as hard as you can, sacrifice everything, and still lose. Thats when the real heroes rise up, because after the fall, someone needs to pick up the shattered pieces and, in the quite darkness take a deep breath and start over again. No one talks about the heroes who take a fallen civilization by the hand and lead them in their first weary sorrowful steps out of the dark and into a new dawn. No great battles, no epic quests, just quite determination and a refusal to lay down and die.
I always thought this song was a song about friendship, or a loved one. That's what iv interpreted. And honestly this song describes how i feel about one of my best friends (no tragic ending, she just has this way of making me feel happy despite any previous bad mood iv been in
Streets of Gold is probably the underdog on this album, among all these songs based on popular IPs, but I also think it is one of the strongest on the album. The balance between depressing and hopeful, in combination with the Stargazers-era instrumentation already made it one of my favorites!
"Dirt washes away and stone wears. Iron rusts and silver tarnishes. Yet gold shines forever, so I shall build streets of gold across this barren continent that my lost friends might follow them back to me." - Paver Glintbeard, the warforged I just made up
This has become, in my mind, my Paladins theme song. By the end of the campaign two of his friends where dead and beyond resurrection. The apocalypse they had fought so hard to stop had happened, and the group's adoptive son and his young paladin apprentice were also probably dead. Left wandering a broken world, driven forwards by only a desire for vengeance and bleak duty, I imagine this as his theme song.
@Sol Theory He was by the end. He started out as a classic oath Paladin, but in the end, only vengeance made sense. He couldn't fix anything, couldn't win, couldn't make anything better. The only thing left to do was to make the people behind it all pay.
This is just so good. I can imagine how the traveler is feeling, after everything he's done, everything he's seen, every sad, happy moment that he has shared with his companions, friends, family, and everything that he protected now gone, he's all alone. It's just so sad and satisfying at the same time, knowing that the traveler did everything he could for his king and his family, that he succeeded in protecting them with all his might.
Originally this was the low-key song of the album, but listening to it more than once, I fell in love with it so quickly. Personally I love this part: _So please forgive the tears and whispers_ _If you are only in my head_ _Sometimes I want to think you're listening_ _When every other voice is dead_
Might be a strange thing to think of, but this song feels like a call for help. Maybe it might be good to remember that we don't have to be the singer, sometimes we can be the one that is there to carry another's burdens. We can be the one to be the Light for someone who has lost everything. After all, sometimes all we need is each other.
It seems too me two people separated that have been with eachother many life times. Now the end their golden time and trying to find eachother because their light together is what it takes to set the world up high
I think in a way it is meant to be a call for help. The description says there is no one left, only the traveller. I think any human as the last one left, no matter how immortal, would still need other people, and as a result plead and cry out to anyone or anything that might be listening, so as to not be alone, purposeless.
Favourite song on the album! Really struck close to home about losing confidence and needing help. I dont want to talk about personal stuff or know how to put my thoughts into words but I love this song
This reminds me so much of a character I've been working with who loses everything after a series of mistakes. She starts to wonder if it's even worth continuing to try to fix things since she's the only one left. Thank you for this song!
Man, I love and hate this song. I can't think of it as my characters, because this always makes me feel like the protagonist is getting old. In reality, that's never been the case so far. I just love the damn song..
Got my introduction to the Aviators via Traveler's Song as a random recommendation here on UA-cam. Loved it, started listening to some of their other stuff. Halfway through listening to this song for the first time, I realized just what the lyrics were saying, and it suddenly just hit much differently, much harder than it was before. Traveler's Song is still my absolute favorite song from the Aviators, but 'Streets of Gold' is an EXTREMELY close second. They're both amazing songs.
T J Im working on it as well, but not the entire story is based off this song specifically. It’s a fanfiction with certain arcs based on several of his songs!

I love this song so much. How hope is fading but still being clung onto in the darkest hour. Love listening when I feel low. Amazing job on this one, Aviators!
Ah, I see you decided to write Ardbert a theme song. Well done. Jokes aside, musical bliss. Emotional, compelling, and cathartic, this track in particular juxtaposes so well with Traveler's Song, and is a masterpiece in its own right. Don't stop producing tracks, you're amazingly gifted, and you enrich every listener's life with your work. Thank you.

Everything about this song is absolutely perfect! I know I say that a lot, but its simply the truth! Thank you for this gorgeous work of art, Avi!
Just recently in my own roleplay I introduced a new character know as the Warrior of the Laughing King. He was the last of his order, and left with nothing more to defend and no-one to entertain, he wanders the dark plains that were once so full of light and laughter. I just discovered this song, and the similarity between the character in the song and my own character struck me as astounding. Anyway, jut something I thought was cool.
Aviators you and your music still continue to amaze me. The setting that music creates is beautifull and the lyrics paint a story I immideatly fell in love with. Please continue to do what you're doing, you're amazing!
This song is so gorgeous. Definitely a favorite of mine, and it fits in so well with the rest of the songs on Let There Be Fire. Super excited for what's to come.
This song makes me think of the Doctor after the Time War! It just really makes me think of him, with everything he's seen, everything he's done, and everyone he's lost. Especially Gallifrey, his home planet, which he had to destroy to stop a horrible war that spanned all of time and space.
I don't know if the song was meant to be so relatable, but for me, it hits personally. When I graduated highscool I felt invincible, confident and proud. After coming back and recovering from a difficult time in middleschool, discovering my passion as a writer and making lifelong friends that remain with me to this day, I was so sure the worst was behind me and the best was ahead of me. I went to college for a semester and a half and crumbled, a combination of academic failure, social difficulties and mental illnesses I didn't know I had. I came home a mess, barely able to function and having lost all confidence in myself. It's been years since then, and I still struggle with the issues that cropped up. My mental health has taken things from me, I've lost relationships, opportunities, and I've struggled to achieve the goals I've always had for myself. All too often, I feel alone and at the mercy of my own brain, and I feel like everything would be ok right now if I'd simply never gone to college. I'm only just regaining my confidence, and I want, I need, to believe that things can get better. I need to believe I'll get back everything that these past years have taken from me, that I can achieve what I want to. I don't want my high school years to be the prime of my life, and I don't want to believe that I'll never feel as happy as I did again. Again, I don't know why this song evokes those feelings in me, but it does. It reminds me of what I wish for.
I know it's been a year but I just want to say that I feel this on such a personal level. I'm going through the same thing right now. But there is a better future, and you'll be there for it. It may not mean much coming from me, but there are people who care about you. Keep strong
I see I left a like on this comment, probably around the time you posted it. After everything that has happened in those 2 years, I feel that comment much more than I ever could have back then.
This song is literally perfect for a story I'm writing. It's a knight who rebels from his King, fights the King and his armies, and wins against all odds, only to wonder what he was fighting for the whole time, because everything he had done was rooted in love for his King and desire for recognition from him, not a desire to rule. I dunno, the song just feels perfect. Thank you, the song is beautiful either way!
I agree would add now he looks for his twin flame and hopes somehow be it stars or road or destiny to lead him to her for they been with each other through all theirlifetimes and never had a chance to meet and fall😉
This song is one of the few capable of bringing tears to my eyes and I'm not a sensitive or person who shows much emotion. The song emanates so much of my own pain and struggles along with my hope for the future. A hope that one day no one will have to endure the pain and suffering of strife and war again. My dream is a flourishing humanity without division or wars of hate.

100%. I can almost picture him looking back on Anor Londo as he walks away, sighing. But. Why should he stay? All his comrades, Gough, Artorias, And Cairan are gone, his master is a burned hollow guarding a fading flame, and now, he, the golden lion is assigned to protect a lie. Sometimes even the most loyal must move on.
@@saifallahghidhaoui1853 My deduction is he left a little piece of his soul behind (lore shows flame souls can be split into smaller pieces) for Gwyndolin to create a functional illusion that could keep him safe while Ornstein was away trying to find NK, so he could convince him to return to Anor Londo now that his father has sacrificed himself to the First Flame. Whether it is was done so in [slim] hopes NK could've restored order to their crumbling kingdom or just because he had the chance to come back home, it could go both ways.
My cat died last night. He was more than my pet he was my best friend. He was loyal, friendly, and loving till the very end i can only hope that one day i can catch up to him on this lonely road.
Such a beautiful, emotional song. It hits particularly hard for me because it reminds me a lot of something else I'm really fond of. That aside, it really is just a great song with awesome lyrics, as expected from you. I kinda wanna hear a slower acoustic version, though. If you're gonna make one, i have a feeling bagpipes and a tin whistle would make a great edition to the instrumentation for some reason
Dude, seriously, how. There's the meaning of life hidden in this song. It's just there. How do you do it. How can you turn music into magic. That's just how it must be I suppose. Thank you for sharing your gift with us.
This is so beautifully sad. It reminds me of when everyone but the bard and my character survived the campaign. The King and Queen held a feast and it was a hollow victory.
When one walk a path of redemption full of hope to turn the page just to loose it all Wandering the path they used to walk with companions, lover and friends Reminiscing the time they thought they could overcome it all Over and over to ease the pain until the road finaly ends -Tragic ending of one of my headstories if all but one trying to change dies where the grief caused by the loss make him shut himself out from the outside waiting to be finaly reunited with those he lost and those who saved him before Thats what I love about this kind of music, its both a story and a muse to make one yourself
Whoah... For some reason, I ignored this song when it was released. Listening to it again, I might just add it to my favorite songs playlists. It's so emotional... wow
”I will bless the Lord who guides me; even at night my heart instructs me. I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me. No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice. My body rests in safety. For you will not leave my soul among the dead or allow your holy one to rot in the grave. You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.” Psalms 16:7-11

@Mobius Music Studio ohai Skycatboi UwU
I'm getting Stargazers vibes from it. Like a fusion of Welcome to Paradise, Wolves and Meet You At The End.
This is one of the best songs I've ever heard.
Man, all of these songs make me think about Solaire. Whether that was the intent or not, good stuff. Keep it up!
This song reminds me so much of a character from my DnD campaign, it's spot-on correct
Same here! Reminds me of my current one (as of me posting this).
I lost my best friend recently.
your music is really helping me through
Just finished Dark Souls 3. Maybe its only me, but this could well be Ornstein's thoughts as he seeks his old master?
my thoughts exactly!
@@Abysswalker8220 Gwyndolin lives still . Why leave him to the mercy of traitors and disease ?
The city in the vid does look like Anor Londo, especially the castle.
This is definitely one of my favorite tracks off of every album that you’ve put out!
A song that’s perfectly reminiscent of your Stargazer days. keep it up!
Man, your voice is always so great and on point. Glad to see you are still making amazing music to this day!
How have I never heard this song before? Its absolutely beautiful!
My cat died last night. He was more than my pet he was my best friend. He was loyal, friendly, and loving till the very end i can only hope that one day i can catch up to him on this lonely road.
hold on!
This never fails to give me goosebumps. I swear all of your music does this to me! Man, keep up the good work dude!!
Praise the Aviators!! \o/
👌
This has to happen.
Dude, seriously, how. There's the meaning of life hidden in this song. It's just there. How do you do it. How can you turn music into magic.
That's just how it must be I suppose.
Thank you for sharing your gift with us.
Holy crap I read the description and I almost cried.
The most underrated song ever, I love it
Beautiful, love your works Aviators !! Thanks for your job !
This is so beautifully sad. It reminds me of when everyone but the bard and my character survived the campaign. The King and Queen held a feast and it was a hollow victory.
When one walk a path of redemption full of hope to turn the page just to loose it all
Wandering the path they used to walk with companions, lover and friends
Reminiscing the time they thought they could overcome it all
Over and over to ease the pain until the road finaly ends
-Tragic ending of one of my headstories if all but one trying to change dies where the grief caused by the loss make him shut himself out from the outside waiting to be finaly reunited with those he lost and those who saved him before
Thats what I love about this kind of music, its both a story and a muse to make one yourself
Dude you just kill it with every song. This sounds amazing!
When i listen to your songs i fill like im wallking on the golden streets of youtube
Splendid music !! ¡¡Espléndida música !! Música esplêndida!! 👏👏👏🙏🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🙏
this is truly a beautiful song, i m already a fan
Still can't make it to the end without falling apart.... My 💜
Love you Aviators
from Saudi Arabia ❤
I don’t know why but listening to this this time struck a cord in me and brought tears to me when I listed to it before and it had no effect
Roses are red
Violets are blue
This song makes me cry
How about you?
Epicface11 Particularly if you listen to it right after Traveler’s Song.
@@chrisschoenthaler5184 Exactly what I did. I don't know if it was a mistake or just perfect ;w;
Roses are read
Violets are blue
u got me
and fvck you
@@chrisschoenthaler5184 Yes this fact is true
I fought back the tears. No tears need be shed for a warrior who fought for all he was worth; tears are insufficient
What a lovely song.
This song is actaully gold ❤
I cried when I listened to this and this song just *_gets me in the FEELS!_*
Yay I'm so excited to listen, your the best aviators
Absolutely phenomenal! Epic work as usual man!
Whoah... For some reason, I ignored this song when it was released. Listening to it again, I might just add it to my favorite songs playlists. It's so emotional... wow
The music you make is my kind of music. These songs satiate my sorrow.
I am sorry for your loss. You are not alone.
This is amazing! So good and POWERFUL! ❤
This is set one of the greatest songs I heard you can lesson to this for any occasion.
You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.”
Psalms 16:7-11
I always drink some Bourbon with honey when I listen to this. Whenever I have some wild turkey, I think of this.
Don t forget cinnamon for spice
