😅 Hmm, I'm not sure I'm going to try that one! I do think it'd probably be better if they weren't canned yams. But yes, there are better 15 minute dinners. 😂 I'd love to see you make one those abominable jello salads...you know the kind with things like lime jello and tuna and other things that just don't go with jello. 😬
Sorry for the delay in response...been playing Dr Mom lol...oh my word I don't know if I'm brave enough. How bout his...if you pick one out and send it to me I'll try it out! (I might die, but in the name of history! 😆)
I’m so sorry, yuk. The mushy canned sweet potato already sweet with more sweet, yikes. Sweet and salty ok, maybe. Would you mind if i sent you a recipe or two? I have a few from a great Canadian cookbook that i love that i thought of sending you. You may like them for your family. Great video. I look forward to your videos.♥🇨🇦
😂 grandma actually added maple syrup to canned yam and topped with mini marshmallows. I knew you didn't like it but you and your sister were so polite at the table and tried a little. I was very proud of both of you for trying and not making a dramatic scene. ❤mom
I actually had a book on the whole sweet potato/yam thing. So, sweet potatoes are in fact yellow/orange. The white potato called sweet potato is misnamed because of the regular white potato we eat. In fact the white potato called sweet potato is a family of the cassava plant. The white potatoes are yams and the orange are sweet potatoes. I’m strange and always found this fun and interesting. I would not recommend eating whole cloves. If you have a tooth ache you can put clove oil on it to help with the pain.
Ok that makes me feel a bit better. I realize the point of the recipe was to make a fast, from a can meal...but. I think I agree that fresh would be a much better option!

Thank ypu for the awesome clarification! It's been boggling my mind for so long...and now I know what on earth I'm eating when I buy them!
So this must all be an acquired taste??? Just can’t do spam
It must be...I'm assuming that generation may just have been used to it?
Yes, fresh is much better. Canned is for pie.

Hi Courtney I happen to like spam and sweet potatoes. Do you know what year the CB is. By chance?
The copyright said 1953, 1962, 1965. I'm assuming we go with the last year?
@@historicalcookingwithcourtney thank you
