    Be nice if sthil would just simply add that access panel on the 800 for the valve cover to the 600/700. Maybe design a access panel aswell for the area around the primer bulb. Love my BR700

    Just purchased the 8 yesterday. Thanks for the heads up on the summer winter mode. You saved me some headache. Great review

    Very nice review, have a 700 and was thinking about the 8 but sounds like it isn't all that different, exactly what I wanted to know, thanks.

    I just bought the 700.. I tried both 700 and 800c on in the store. They felt to me very different when wearing. I am 6'3. The 700 felt much lighter than the 800c even though it's only about 3lbs. Also the 800c side pull.. felt like I had to reach further back then I had thought..(you have to reach beyond the back of your back). I worried about that if my shoulder ever becomes a problem.
    So ergonomics.. the 700 won out. The chest strap contrary to some claims... did NOT carry any of the load and the loading on the 800c felt more on my back than the 700. The 800c was considerably much bulkier than the 700. it could be?... that the 800c sticks out further and causes more torqueing on your back.
    In any event.. you want to try these models on and walk around with them before buying.

    I heard the 700s have an issue where basically after a certain number of hours and use on the machine they will just stop and die out. It’s some kind of electrical part that cant be replaced or something along those lines not sure the specifics but my boss explained it to me one day. Still awesome blowers and last a long time. But eventually they die out and you can’t rebuilt them is the issue with them. Other stihl units last forever and u can keep them alive

      The BR700 runs the same basicengine as the BR600 with a larger impeller/volute to move more air volume at a lower pressure. I wager these stories are exaggerated. Speaking for a residential user with a lot of leaves ando uses this for all manner of grass clipping clean-up and housekeeping. I have no issues with this unit in the 6 years I've owned it. I adjust the valve lash every year, and mine starts up on the second pull 90% of the time.

    50 F it’s when you flip the winter mode on, you risk over heating above that temperature.

    Just bought the 800, only $40 more than the 700. I got the normal pull start, it was $50 cheaper than the side pull.

      What's a winter mode valve?

      It helps it start better in colder conditions.

      @@jasonkidney5837 on the 700 it is just a little shutter that you can move from winter to summer mode. It opens a passage to allow a little bit of warm air into the carb to keep it from icing up in the winter. The 800 has a slide that you can move side to side and provides the same benefit. You simply remove the air filter to access it in either the 700 or 800. A lot of people don’t realize it is there and leave it in summer mode year round, but a word of caution, don’t leave it in the winter mode in the summer as apparently you can overheat the engine and burn it out. You can ru it in summer mode year round but don’t run it in winter mode year round. Using it in winter mode in the winter will provide some benefit.

    Do you find the 700 pulls your arm and shoulder back at all?

    • @tiertwolawncare
      @tiertwolawncare  3 роки тому

      Tundra Guy Personaly I don’t even feel it with the 800... I’ve had guys use both and tell me that they feel a difference between both (800 having more kickback)... but no I don’t think the 700 pulls at all

    So both of these blowers have the same CFM of 912, but the 800 also has more MPH than the 700? And from what I researched the 800X is lighter than the 700! Gonna be a hard decision

    • @tottenhamteacher
      @tottenhamteacher 4 місяці тому

      Troy - this is true yes? But 800x has the "older model" versus the CE adjust like the 700.

  • @michaelholly88
    @michaelholly88 3 роки тому +1

    So 800x or 800c-e?
    For home use but want industrial grade power.
    I’ve tried them both on, and the 800X felt a lot better on my back then the 800CE

    • @tiertwolawncare

      The X and C felt different? Weird... they’re the same minus the pull cord.
      Personally, I prefer the 700 for many reasons

      @@tiertwolawncare C-E felt bulkier and heavier, was noticeably heavier than a specs suggested. The whole Harnest strap set up is a little bit bigger on the 800C-E. I don’t think they had the 700 to even try out I’ll have to see if they do next time I’m pretty sure it was only the 600

    • @tiertwolawncare
      @tiertwolawncare  3 роки тому +1

      @@michaelholly88 To me, they felt they had very similar power with the 800 maybe doing slightly better (obviously)... but for price difference, specs, and weight of unit on my back... 700 all the way.
      Didn’t go 600 mainly because of the tube. Don’t want extra pieces, and the 700 has the tube that can be made longer or shorter on the spot.

      @@tiertwolawncare that’s what I liked about 800c-e is adjustable nozzle, I see the 700 is the same, looks like a good unit too, definitely gonna check it out. The side start seems like another thing to go wrong for no reason, I’m not using it for 8 hours a day and dealing with customers coming out and stopping me while using it. This decision feels like buying a car, want certain option but you end up with more than you want or need to get what actually want 🤣
