I’m a 15 year old and have been mowing lawns for 5 years. I’ve used Stihl, Echo, Husqvarna, Shindaiwa and Redmax.
When it comes to blowers I use an Echo 770 for summer blowing and I use the 8010 for leaves. I prefer the Echo blowers because IME they are the most comfortable blowers.
For trimmers, I use an Echo 225 for weekly and biweekly trimming as it’s very light. I also use a Stihl KM91 for edging and heavy duty tasks.
For chainsaws I use a ported Echo 490 for wood less than 16”. Anything bigger than that, I grab my ported Echo 620P.
My overall opinion is that Stihl makes the best large trimmers because they’re crazy powerful. But I feel like Stihl has gotten cheaper as far as build quality in the last 3-4 years. For me, Echo makes the best blowers, small trimmers, and chainsaws. I find they have more power and build quality than the comparable Stihl, Husqvarna and Redmax. Echo also has the best value IMO.

Brett , congrats for being so experienced and having built yourself up to commercial equipment at your age. What mowers are you using and do you just mow close to home or do you drive at 15 ? When I was your age I had a 3.5 hp push mower and just pushed it around the neighbor hood. We didn't have string trimmers . We used some scissor like things to trim with , it was torture ! LOL.

Echo makes a good blower for sure. The 9010 is powerful with more weight and loud. Some neighbors don't like the loud noise due to the high rpms the engine is turning. Sthil is all I see used around most places I see. I like all brands echo husqvarna sthil. Personal preference. Best wishes!

*Exactly what I expected from a brand like Hitachi **Bestfor.Garden** also recommend I’ve only had it a few weeks now, but really happy with what it does. I assume it’s like anything, if you take care of it, it will last along time.*

Bit of a Husky fan myself, for the smaller jobs I use 525 BX and when you need to shift some heavy S##t I use the 580 BTS & damn does it move it!! Very expensive in the UK 🇬🇧 but worth every penny!!!

I own the BR- 600 and Bought the BR - 800- X it's worth the extra money for the power. Makes the job so much faster. They both are great. The 800X weighs only 1.5 lbs over the 600. Also the 800-X is more comfortable IMO.

Thanks for that comment about the BR 800X . Is it the same CFM as the 800C , just use a normally located pull start ? Im looking for my 1st back pack so it's great to hear what everyone has to say I think Andy just talked me out of the 800C. Stet on " Stets Lawn Care " had troube with his also.

Just bought the 600 last week. I’ve been using a Echo 580t and a Makita backpack blower. Should have bought the Stihl a long time ago. Nothing wrong with either of those blowers other than no nearby dealers.

1.5lbs difference...from 800x and 600. Unlikely it’s even noticeable, now the 800c-e is another 3.2lbs heavier than 800x...Main reason why I do that go with it, it was noticeable

I have run all those machines when I worked for a lawn company, (800x). I preferred the 800s when we did cleanups for sure, saved so much time. The 600 would be my choice for sure for the money. I currently own the TINY br200 and I can blow for 20 lawns without a refuel. Now it is tiny but hey, as a lawn kid, I love the lightweight grass mover! It is pretty comically small on my 6’ 1” frame though! Thanks for the vid and I hope you got some of that KC rain we did!

Just put the br450 tip on the br700/br800 it makes it an all around blower. 1. You wont need all the power for grass cuttings after cuts. 2. Lower throttle lower noise. 3. The air speed is ridiculous at full throttle. 4. When cleaning mulch beds at idles it whisks the debris with little disturbance of the bed. 5. It is far more brutal on leaves.

If sticking with stihl, skip the side start and get 800x...dealer said 800c-e has problems with the side start I was told. $499-$549-$599....I think 800x is worth the $100 more over the 600

@@michaelholly88 Agree with you 💯 like the 800x hands down over the 600, you use more fuel for sure. It's worth the extra fuel because you are moving more leaves. I agree with this man about using a 600 for the grass because it's the one I use.

The electric start is absolute rubbish, I bought the br450 purely for the electric start and had to return it because the battery was dead in it. Then they ordered in another new br450 for me. The problem is.. the electric start is very unreliable. Half the time I’d have to take the blower off to manually start it after the electric starter would fail to kick it over and start. I ended up returning the second one three days later an upgraded to the br700. Don’t get the electric start it’s gimmicky and you’ll regret it big time.

Nice video man! Good info and thoughts. I am a big #STIHL guy and I have the br550 which is now 8yrs running. I have noticed lately it doesn't seem to have the same power and sometimes acts like it is going to just shut off. It has been a great blower for me but I am going to purchase a new blower soon and probably going to go with the 600. Thought about the 700 but it is probably a little overkill for me. Thanks for the video buddy, keep up the good work.

Any blower is good enough for lawn care if your just starting off. I started off with a homelite weedeater, two beater push mowers, a ryobi gas handheld blower amd made it to whatbi have today. Anything decent with warranty will work until you can shell out big bucks for the stihl or echo products. And even then, having to adjust valves regularly on stihl products is a pain in the ass. Echo and husqvarna.

br800 all day, once you figure out how to start it its easy and very rarely do i need to take it off to start usually when its super hot and the gas is vaporizing before its getting to the carb. handheld is br86. while the backpack may use more gas its still faster and time is money dont worry about pennies when your paying by the hour saving 50 cents in fuel and taking 5 more mins costs you more fwiw. I would not buy the br800 if it had a battery start it just would weight to much and yes i do have a 450 side start is what id buy again if i had to.

I’ve had my BR 700 for over two years now. Home property size is 3.6 acres with over 4000 ft.² of woods. My blower also gets used in a commercial setting and next to a BR 600. So even when it comes to cleaning out my wooded area. The BR 700 does 90% of what I need. After that I just grab my big Billygoat push blower. Actually today. I have to go pick up my blower from the shop. It just started having trouble staying running. Other than that. All I’ve ever done for the last 2+ years was put the proper gas in it. Never check the air filter, spark plug or adjust anything. Nothing at all. My repair bill is 50 bucks for adjusting the valves probably, new spark plug and air filter. It has been the most reliable piece of equipment I own for lawn care hands-down.

I had a Huqvarna commercial battery backpack, loved it until I needed a new battery which I ordered a year ago. Batteries are made in China! Ik down the drain. Just bought the stihl 700 to leaf blow my forested property. I'm 5' 115 lbs. I found going to the 800 is too heavy for 20% more power. I would have been fine with a 600 but they didn't have one. Ordered the waist belt and chest strap to keep unit close to my body which helps with weight.
