Thank you for this video. I've used the br600's for at least 10 years and for residential use, it's more than enough. I am glad to know about the new design on these because my next blower purchase will be another 600.
This channel deserves way more views. I just happened to pick up a BR600 yesterday and saw this video today. Took off the recoil and I have the new engine. Didn't even know they changed it. Thank you!
This was a very informative video, I had 1.5 years of personal/residential only use on my BR700 backpack blower I purchased 5/2022. It just had complete wrist pin failure, and thankfully Stihl will honor their warranty but want to replace it with only another old flawed design unit. Still working to get them to exchange it with the revised model, or I may pay the difference and get the BR800 that doesnt have these issues.
My br600 was made in 11.21 and has the updated changes. I wonder when they initially made this change. I was able to verify by looking at the exhaust port cooling fins through the plastic orange slots In the blower shell, above the muffler.
Good informative videos; thank you. Noticed you pronounce Stihl like the word 'still'. I've heard it pronounced 'steel' which puts more emphasis on the 'h'. Just being picky but when I heard you say 'still' for the 1st time, I had to pause and think for a second, that you were actually referring to the product name.
Just bought a used BR 600 Z today. What does the Z stand for ? Started on 1st pull as promised. Some of the the serial no was worn away. First no. 5377 and an 8 or 3 0n the end. Will open it up tomorrow to see.
The Redmax and the T235 (Echo srm-225) are good units. Both hold up well. I’m not a fan of the 262. Engine wise they are fine but tend to vibrate apart after a few months. Stihl is also a solid choice as well for line trimmers.
Question I'd anyone can answer. When i squeeze the trigger on my br 600 on full it wants to bog down but when I slowly pull the trigger it runs normally. Is that the way this blower works or is there a problem somewhere? Thanks.

Very informative - exactly the sorts of things a diy-minded owner wants to know! Thanks.

Glad you got the updated unit!
@@wallysworkin823 have any improvements to the 800x been made since your last video on it?
I'll be looking for this on the next one I get in my shop. Thanks.
I love the improvement they made, now I can support them again and explain the importance of this improvement to owners 😊
Awesome video! Very informative... Videos like yours give UA-cam a GOOD name!
Thank you for making these informative videos.
Just found your channel and I thank you so much for your videos, already been a big help
Could you do a valve adjustment video for the BR600? The manual recommends it be performed after the first 139 hours.
Great thumbnail! Can't wait for the video.
They should reward you for the information to improve their equipment, nothing like the real facts after using them 😊
Thanks Wally, for another great video with some very informative information!! 👍👍

The BR800 has its own issues. I made a video about it on my channel.

Hard to say when they made the change. Sometimes it takes a while to see updates.

Im really cerious if they put a bearing in the piston end of the connecting rod instead of that brass bushing
They did not.
I wish they would
My BR600 is great.
Looking at BCZ260TS Redmax
T235 Shindaiwa
T262 Shindaiwa
Suggestions on trimmer 3 property’s for family to maintain.

@@wallysworkin823 I tried the Stihl fs94r to much vibration for me.
The T235 seems to be smooth just hope it has the high torque gear head
Wallly, I’m out of state and would like to purchase a Stihl blower with the new engine design; can you supply?
I wonder if they did any before and after temp readings to see if putting those 3 little cooling fins on the exhaust made a difference!😂
So other than taking apart the blower...is there a srlerial # one could use to validate if they are getting the new br700?
I have found the serial number method is unreliable. Best to make sure and look at the engine.
Nice video! Have you seen any similar changes being made on the 800?
Not yet!
Good video...
You think it’s better than the echo 770t & redmax 7500 ?
It is now 😎
Wow!! I think it’s time for me to get a 700 lol hopefully it doesn’t leak oil this time.
Br700 ✊
