Dude. I’ve had this since as long as I can remember, like 7 yrs old, I’m 20 now and just thought I had ribs that grew weird. I randomly came across this video and I’m like no way this is an actual thing?!!??!! Did the exercise and immediately saw results. I almost didn’t recognize my body looking in the mirror without my ribs sticking out past my chest pretty much.
I'll admit that I was quite skeptical when I clicked on this - I've tried a lot of techniques that claimed to fix flared ribs, and none of them have, which is why I'm pleasantly surprised by just how well this worked. Obviously my rib flare isn't completely gone, but I can already see a difference. Will definitely implement this into my daily routine, thank you so much for doing this!
Brother, I'm coming back to your video because I just remembered that I did your exercises three days ago. I'm praying for you. I wish you the best life possible, both on this planet and afterward in paradise, for you and your family. For the past 8-9 years, I've had a frozen shoulder on my left side and a misaligned rib on my right side. That started when I was 25. Now I'm 34. I did your exercise for the ribs, and after several attempts, my rib moved back into the right position-first 90%, then 100%. Automatically, my frozen shoulder also disappeared. It pulled hard everywhere, but in the end, everything was free! Thank you so much.
@@LorenaAnaSuto I’ve been watching videos on rib flare. And there appear to be two different kinds. One has to do with posture, breathing, etc. and that is the kind that these exercises help. The other has to do with the actual bones. And it is usually associated with chest deformity called “percussion excavating”. Unfortunately, I have the latter. So I don’t think the exercises will work for me either.

You probably should have also added the fact that if you inhale to hard or exhale to hard you will force the stomach to be pulled up, which in turn will further exacerbate the flare more. So keep it litearlly nice and gentle both on the inhale and exhale guys.

Breathing exercises have been an essential element of my preparation for the 64 years that I have been singing. I tend to forget when I'm not singing, in part because I grew up at over 7,000 feet above sea level and now live at sea level with a 120% lung capacity. These look like great exercises! This was awesomely insightful. It helped me understand that my tight pectoral muscles and weaker core were contributing to this, helping to emphasize some priorities for my own fitness goals.
Same here. I’ve been emphasizing on building my glutes, abs, back and stretching my pecs, shoulders and hip flexors and it sure did help to a point. But this exercise really relieved the tightness in my upper back for the first time in many many years. And the stretch just feels amazing!
Purse lip breathing actually exhales more air and deflates the lungs more as opposed to opening your mouth wider. Its due to the differences in pressure generated inside your mouth and the environment.

I'm now 3 months into doing all these PRI expansion exercises. The ONLY time I can breathe normally and feel a true "360 breath" **without forcing it** is when I've done a TON of side ab and transverse ab work under HEAVY load. Think Farmer's Carries with heavy weights, dead bugs, planks, etc. If I hammer those muscles then later in the day there is enough resting tone to counteract the lower to upper back tightness. Just doing expansion exercises is a very temporary gain and certainly every single morning I'm back to square one since I sleep on my back and that means nothing but anterior expansion for 8 hours. My point is that subtle expansion exercises are the right direction but not the correct intensity in my 3 months' experience. I'll be confirming with my PRI trainer soon but I don't see any way forward except to just blast the side abs and transverse abs until they are built up sufficiently to counteract the much bigger back muscles.
I've noticed similar to this. It's strange then, that PRI are so adamantly against loading/insist on very gentle "techniques" as opposed to exercises (with load).
@@zaynmalice7106 Conor has a few more loaded things here and there but really nowhere near enough to call it a true hypertrophy or strength workout. Plus it's not set in a larger framework of a hypertrophic program. Weird that they don't make that leap. I'd buy that program from Conor but won't buy his existing ones because they're rehab/PT focused not muscle building.
Interesting, for me the PRI exercises, especially the basic 4 for L AIC work great, but to make it „stick“ I need heavy load for the obliques too, and exercises with slow reps and double compression breathing!
Thanks for this comment. This is what I've been wondering lately. My main problem is low back (QL possibly) tightness when I try to sleep. I think I'm getting the proper feeling of breathing during PRI exercises, but it's not enough to relax my back. Right now I'm trying to pay attention to breathing and posture when I think about it throughout the day as well as doing a lot of ab work. I've found side bends from a back extension bench make me very sore from my QL all the way to my abs, so I'm hopeful that will help.
Holy crap, I honestly am really skeptical of shit like this. I'm a really big muscular dude and have definite rib flare which makes my pecs look smaller than they are. I just tried this exercise (which was surprisingly difficult because of my body type). I went and looked in the mirror after doing this for about 4 minutes and could visibly see that my ribs changed position. My back feels way more lose as well. Good shit man.
I've had a little bit of Rib Flare. I've recently realised, this and a range of other issues ALL CAUSED by EXTREME ANTERIOR PELVIC TILT. It was so bad my sacram was horizontal to the ground creating a 90 degree angle in my lower spine...... Fixing that, fixed my Rib Flare.....
Maybe I don't understand who these types of exercises are appropriate for, but what do you mean by seeing immediate results? Could you post before/after pictures of someone with obvious rib flare to demonstrate what you mean? Personally, I tried the exercises, and although they are relaxing, there were no noticeable changes to my rib flare. In any case, how are a brief series of light breathing exercises supposed to counteract a persistent deformity of the ribcage? Isn't any permanent non-surgical fix (if one is even possible at all) going to be a matter of greatly improving strength and flexibility in the core and postural muscles?
You know, I tried simillar exerciese but with small ball not a pillow. And it didn't work. When I talk with physiotherapist he told me that you won't fix this type of deformity when you are old enough. Kids have... less dense bones (don't know how to explain this) and this might work... but for a full grown man, with much more dense / harder bones, not a chance. Training your back, abs and chest can help with rib flare becouse muscles will "pull" your bones so it might not be that visible... but other than surgery, you won't fix rib flare.
Hi Huge thanks to you...i begun yesterday, and i aleready see the results.the rib still " forward " but got masked ( in the left side) by my muscle, glad to hope It wil disapear with time... Thanks again😊

This is the second video on rib flare (or third when you count the one on uneven rib flare). Are these exercises supposed to be better than the one on the previous video or are there situations where the "old one" is still recommended?
The picture shows not a rip flare, but a hollow-back. And I would think most people with forward lower rips has just a bad hollow-back posture, they should correct.
I’ve always had flared ribs & a small indent in the middle of my chest I don’t do a lot of physical activity & I weigh about 135 pounds. Idk if the lack of physical activity throughout my life has caused the rib flaring but I’m 25 now & I want to take action & become confident with my shirt off. It’s not a crazy rib flair but just enough that you can see it & I feel like it also makes me look skinnier than I really am.
I've had this my whole life, it's something I dispise. I've been having horrible thoughts lately, seeing how easy it is to just put work on it... Has given me hope for some reason. So when you go to bed tonight, remember you literally saved a life. Like.. Literally bruh... Thank you for a lifetime. Hope you succed
Is it normal that my left sided rib flare is in a lower position than my higher position nornal right rib? I've seen some videos and I could see that the rib flare should be on a higher position than the other rib, but that's not the case.
Hey Connor, while I don't have a rib flare issue, I do have an issue with asymmetry with my rib cage and pectoral, and maybe some minor scoliosis. However this minor scoliosis appears to get better and worse with certain exercises or time. One rib appears to be permanently expanded on my right side. My left shoulder blade also has resistance when I attempt to move it towards the spine and down. I had a back injury in October of 21 which I've since completely gotten out of pain since September last year. I have no other issues that cause pain or difficulty doing excercise to my knowledge, but I was hoping you may have some insight or some advice.
I'm in the exact sams situation. The right side of my ribcage is more expanded/more visible as it goes out of my body more than the left side. I also fear I might have some really minor scoliosis. But the worst part is the pec imbalance. My left pec (where the ribcage is not as expanded/more inside the body) is bigger and I can feel it contract MUCH better than the left side. It is getting really annoying as this is stunting my pec growth overall, because I have to watch out not to contribute to the imbalance by training as usual and making my left side become even bigger. What I would give for being able to feel my right pec contract as good as the left one🥲 Have you found an solutions to your problem?
This is me but opposite, it’s my left side. I have minor scoliosis. My upper right back is slightly rounded so my scapula doesn’t lay flat against my rib cage, the my left lower back sticks out slightly more and is tight AF. You can’t tell by looking at me unless you’re a massage therapist or a chiropractor.
I had Ribflares since i was 10 years old and when i saw this vid and try it fot the first time i actually felt muscle movement and rib movements i felt a littel pain when doing the first exercise but i think its just the first time doing this im 19 yr old now and stil have them so im going to put this exercise in my gym routine and see if i actually see any difference but this exercise looks really good to try out thank you❤

I've found side bends from a back extension bench make me very sore from my QL all the way to my abs, so I'm hopeful that will help.
just in time when i started suitcase deadlifts
This really works thanks man
No problem 👍
I love that these are exercises you can do with like only a pillow
This man deserves to be a famous doctor
Thank you a lot.
I tried it rn and it didn’t fix the rib flare completely but it made them protrude less
HAH, WUT! I DID THE FIRST EXERCISE FOR ABOUT A MINUTE AND NOW MY RIBCAGE CAN SIT FLUSH IN MY BODY. Thank you.
Hi
Huge thanks to you...i begun yesterday, and i aleready see the results.the rib still " forward " but got masked ( in the left side) by my muscle, glad to hope It wil disapear with time...

@@joshuamotuma9753 i think you might be doing the exercises wrong, do you see immediate results after doing these?
This is the second video on rib flare (or third when you count the one on uneven rib flare). Are these exercises supposed to be better than the one on the previous video or are there situations where the "old one" is still recommended?
OMG OMG IT WORKS I SEE RESULTS OMG OMG OMG MY BIGGEST INSECURITY IS FIXED OMG OMG !
how long did it take
how long did it take
how long did it take bro?
ive had these for my whole life and when i asked my parents they said it’s completely normal
it mostly is, unless it causes you issues
Hello Friend I will try these exercises and if I notice any change I will let you know
Édit: The first day there is a little noticeable change
This worked immediately omg thank you
The picture shows not a rip flare, but a hollow-back. And I would think most people with forward lower rips has just a bad hollow-back posture, they should correct.
As in anterior pelvic tilt?
my rib flare is fixed after doing the first exercise alone for 30 seconds ❤❤❤
Literally instant results 🤯🤯🤯🤯
That's wild because I had specifically noticed rib flare this week
I really can't follow the instructions as I find them quite unclear, beginning from the positioning of the hands in the standing part
Regardless of anything else this makes my diaphragm comfortable
I tied a belt tightly around the flair for a few days, then used deep breething to expand upper ribs.
Love you bro now i will feel normal 😅😅❤
I’ve always had flared ribs & a small indent in the middle of my chest I don’t do a lot of physical activity & I weigh about 135 pounds. Idk if the lack of physical activity throughout my life has caused the rib flaring but I’m 25 now & I want to take action & become confident with my shirt off. It’s not a crazy rib flair but just enough that you can see it & I feel like it also makes me look skinnier than I really am.
I have a natural rib flare. Drives me mad. Then my shoukders round. Im strengthening all over with consistency but takes forever to correct.
You’re not alone! I didn’t know the shoulders was from rib flare though!
What happens if this is genetic and structural for me and my dad? Can these exercises still fix it?
broo im the sameee, me and my dad have it but im skinny and its more noticable than him, please tell me if u find smth
@@stivaka5771 sure bro! Me and my dad are also ectomorphs. I am going to biokinetcist , physio and seeing what they see.
@@PodcastCentral333thanks! where i can talk with you man, insta ,twitter or another?
I've had this my whole life, it's something I dispise.
I've been having horrible thoughts lately, seeing how easy it is to just put work on it... Has given me hope for some reason. So when you go to bed tonight, remember you literally saved a life. Like.. Literally bruh... Thank you for a lifetime. Hope you succed
Genius. Thanks for this.
just started today, i will upload my results every week down here. good luck guys ♥️
wait for this
👀
Good luck

@@jenniferbower6286your left rib should be bigger since it’s where your organs are :)
@@eepeemi thanks! Good to know 😁
@@ErmirsArthaving the exact same issue. Have you found anything helpful regarding the matter? Help would be very much appreciated
Dude??? This works! How many time doing this for permannent effects?
for exercise #1, do you need a pillow/something for compression on the belly/ribs, right?
may God Bless You!
Is this a good approach for a T7 SCI? Great demonstration.
I want Conor to say "yellow pillow" :D Love the content and enjoying the self-paced biomechanics course. Thank you!
I am suffering from this problem, but there is no translation in the video. Please translate
Will this help in the long term or is this just temporary?
Thank you Conor ❤
3:42 Get a Powel? did you mean to say pillow or towel? where are you from?
I had Ribflares since i was 10 years old and when i saw this vid and try it fot the first time i actually felt muscle movement and rib movements i felt a littel pain when doing the first exercise but i think its just the first time doing this im 19 yr old now and stil have them so im going to put this exercise in my gym routine and see if i actually see any difference but this exercise looks really good to try out thank you❤

they were some nice workouts. tnx❤❤❤❤❤
Crazy how this works under minutes for me😨
Thank you so much for this
You're so welcome!
Should i feel my diaphragm (and stomach) expanding and pushing putwards onto the pillow?
How does developing flared ribs relate to developing Pectus Excavatum during puberty growth spurt? Su ken sternum has been fixed with Nuss implant, but flared ribs haven’t been addressed. Thank you
Regarding the breathing exercise? How many times do I do this? And how often?
Hi! Would the progression be to do all typical gym exercises with this approach ? Like when we are told to engage the core before lifting. This is like a step further.
If I do this every day how quickly will my ribs adjust?
