One thing I’m wondering about is substrate for my live plants. Which type of substrate do you like to use and how often would it need to be refreshed?

I liked hearing you talk about the amount of work that goes into your tanks and how that causes a bit of burnout for you in the hobby because I'm trying to be mindful about my own set of tanks as it expands. There is definitely an equilibrium to find between the number of tanks, fish, diversity, etc you get to enjoy through that scale vs. the amount of work and effort all of that entails.
I must say that this has been a very refreshing video. And I think all UA-camrs should do this at least once. Thank you for brightening my morning. And yes please do it again.

Do you think you would enjoy the fishroom less if you had the more traditional tanks on end on racks (3 tanks high, etc) compared to the setup you have now where you can see more of the span of the tanks?

Thanks for answering my question! I just got back into the hobby since childhood and I’m excited to have it my life again. Started with one tank about six months ago and am itching to get more. 😅
Question: Does fish availability have seasons? i.e. Are different kinds of fish more available at certain times of year? I can no longer find Multis shell dwellers. Is something happening with this fish? My usual online sources are out. All three of my LFSs said they keep ordering them but are not getting any in.
Easiest place is often a LFC (local club). There's a few places online I'd recommend as well if that isn't an option. Hopefully you're able to find the ones you're looking for!

A horse-sized duck. Due to the square-cube law, its legs wouldn't be strong enough to hold it up. It would collapse on the ground immediately, and you would be winner by default.

Enjoyed the video, you mentioned auto water change system, what is the difference auto top off system, which one requires least amount of manual labor and the lowest cost index.

Birds are freaky! And, the bigger they are the worst. When I was in high school, I worked on a ranch that had some emu. And I was kicked in the chest by one and it threw me about 20 feet backwards and cracked a rib. Birds are freaky scary!🐠🦯
