What do you think? Is it worth having a fish room? Do you have one? Are you thinking of setting one up, and has this video influenced your decision?

To me, a fish room would make sense if I wanted to breed fish, but otherwise, I like having my tanks in rooms where I spend time; I don't want to "visit" my fish. A lot of content creators are changing their fish rooms, guess that is the new thing, all changing to gallery style. I think people should just do what makes them happy; it's cool that you give perspective, help people see more than just the upside. Thanks. Take care, be well

I have a fish room for breeding and a couple of tanks for personal favourites. Close to 3 years n counting. It’s my way of stepping away from everyday responsibilities and putting my mind in to something relaxing and different 🙂.
Sometimes it does get stressful I’m not going to lie but overall happy about the decision so far.

No, I don't have a fish room. I had a fish house where I had tanks in every room where I spent a lot of time. I had 19 tanks. Yes, lots of work. Then had my son help me with the filters, etc. Then started down sizing. Now have 7 tanks. A bit more managable. Still love looing at the remaining tanks I have though.

you know the really messed up thing about fish keeping? no matter how many beautiful tanks you have with your dream fish/ plants/ setups, when you sit down and look at your tanks the only thought that always comes back is "what can i do next" or "i need this".. its endless

Collectoritis is real. This is the reason I stay away from anything under 75 gallons. There’s only so much space available.

i think that fades. once your tank is a few years old, its more about remembering not to neglect the water :)

I moved my 5 tanks to my basement when my house was getting painted and I agree with all your points. I would add to the good list: 1 able to work more efficiently with all tools and supplies in one place. 2 since my basement has a painted concrete floor, if I spill water it’s no big deal !

I have met a lot of people that build up to quickly and don't take their time choosing what they want to keep. Some think they will get wealthy breeding fish, and don't realize how much work it is. I have a fish room with a lot of tanks, but many of them can be empty. I pick up projects, breed the fish then move them out and get new projects.

Thank you for your honesty and your outtake on the fish room. You have definitely brought attention to some details that hadn’t crossed my mind. Thanks for possibly keeping me from making too big of a Fish room when I get moved out to Arizona. Would love to drive over to Cali and meet you. Tank On!

For passion projects I find it helpful to set the boundaries up front. Mine are: I wont block any windows or walkways, I wont have any tanks in my bedroom or bathroom, and every tank needs to be on a stand. That pens it in, stopping me from overrunning the place with racks of tanks.

It's good to hear some positive content first thing in the am. I think the key point was "you have to have balance" I've recently dialed it back from 7 tanks to 4 tanks because keeping up with the maintenance was becoming less enjoyable. Like Mr Ben Ochart always says "you have to have patience in this hobby" For me I enjoy this hobby more as a form of relaxation 😌 Not to be stressed about when I'm gonna carve out some time to work on my tanks. Take care ✌️

I totally get the location issue. My original fishroom was in a separate building and I spent way too much time there isolated from the family. I eventually bit the bullet and built a 20' x 40' addition onto the house and now I am just a short hallway away from the den. It has made my 40+ year hobby much more enjoyable for my wife as she can pop in and out and feel more involved in my hobby. She even set up 2 small tanks of her own recently. Location can be life changing.

Yea, two aquariums are enough for me, thank you! I completely enjoy seeing your fish room. living vicariously through you and others. The nearest fish store is a 3 hr. round trip or more. I appreciate you

I know that I am not wired to keep a fish room! It would be cumbersome for me. I do however have a 75 and 40 in the bedroom, a 20 long in anither room and a nano tank by my desk. They make me happy. I had another 29 but decided to take it down. I do keep a 10 for quarantine when needed. Know thyself was good advice!

I have 5 tanks in a corner of the basement and 2 nano tank at the office. It really is a balance of cost and maintenance time. I have 2 short out of town trips planned and either the fish go unfed for 4 days or I have to find someone to come in at least once to feed and check everything. We’ve also had some recent power outages. I have a plan for that now too.

You are so right. I have had to fight the urge to keep not more than 2 aquariums most of my life. A majority of my life there was no you tube. Now, I see so many different fish species it is harder to stay with 2 aquariums. I enjoy every video you make. Your fish room is amazing. Life does take un planned turns though.

Hello! I don't have a fish room and I don't think I will. But I have aquariums in two rooms. In my daughter's bedroom there are three pieces of 100 liters each and in my room there is one for 200 liters.
In general, the room is cool 👍

Bro. you are blessed, it shows how you take care. I set my fish room up for same reason I like the sound. My tinnitus (ringing in the ears) is a driving force. The sound distracts me away from the ringing in the ears which is 24/7. Albeit the multi tank syndrome with twelve tanks can`t explain right now......like to listen about hobby and get good tips.

    Hi Zenzo,
Just started 4 months ago with my own fishroom with 4 aquariums of 60L each. Now we are 4 months further and the room has now 8 aquariums of 60L and 4 aquariums of 35L
With all forms of guppys endlers shrimp and crayfish. I just love all the species and different colours of fish and shrimp. And if i have more fish i put them on internet and buy my food and medicins from that money.
Have a great weekend and thanks for all this information this video was just at the right time for me! Because i was thinking about buy some more tanks😅
With love from the netherlands ✌

Great stuff mate, I think we all chang eour priorities and hard to stay 100% passionate about things that in truth are hard wotk and take great chunks of your freedom... I think for you id say "the fish dont care if they are in a pretty box, they just car e abouit being clean and fed . Nothing wrong with downsizing, go for it

It was interesting to hear what you said about the fish room being away from the house and no natural light because I have a basement in my garage that I don't use and always considering turning it into a fish room. One of my biggest concerns is that the building is separate from my house and in the winter especially, I don't know how much I will want to go all the way to the fish room. I guess the thing to do is test it out with a couple of tanks before I go nuts with it? I don't know.

Yeah, maybe put one nice tank out there and see how many times you enjoy it per day. I’d suggest you try it for a month or two to see if it works for you.

i have animals in general outside, maybe 30m to the donkeys etc and even with those i iwsh they were closer. its too far away for real interaction so if interaction is what you desire, better to have a 40l in the lving space

I'm not a fan of the idea of a seperate fish room, for the same reason i don't have a seperate bird room or dog room. I want to enjoy my fish all the time. So, 4 tanks in the living room, 4 tanks in the family room and 2 tanks in the kitchen.

I think my cats spend more time in my fish room than I do. But that’s because I have a very demanding job. Actually thinking about moving them into my bedroom at this point to be more appreciated.

Question : Okay, you have two Brita containers and you pour water from the sink into one and once that is done you add that water into the other Brita container and then pour that one back into the first Brita container. Would that be called osmosis water?
Testing the water between each filtration so we can see if it makes a difference.

My dad has a fish room like yours. As well as an indoor pond. Unfortunately, he lost his passion. The room is in disrepair. He still does half-ass water changes a week but its not nice walking around. How do I help bring the passion back to him?

So I suffered from MTS and when we moved from a 2 bedroom to 3 bedroom house I created a fish room. I went from two to 8 tanks which I love, but Zenzo is right that if I want to clean them all in one day I will spend 6-8 hours. I also recently learned that our land lord is selling the house next year so the thought of moving is absolutely forcing me to downsize. Soo while I love all my tanks I’m feeling the bad right now 😂
