- The Holosun EPS full size is arguably the best pistol red dot in Holosun's catalog, if you've got a slide that's actually cut for it. Like the EPS Carry, the EPS full size direct mounts to the Holosun K optics cut, despite being much larger. There are vanishingly few full size handguns that are factory cut with the Holosun K cut, at least so far.

The Platypus has the option for a factory RMSc/Holosun K slide cut.

The EPS is my first pistol mounted dot. I feel like I made the right decision.
The Vulcan ACSS reticle is the right decision. Anything else is an old-school red dot... even if they're green.

@@workingguy-OU812 I just like the vulcan because I really like chevrons. You grow out of the ring thing super quick if you do some dry fires after work. Wish it was a second reticle you could aim with like a 2moa dot.

the only purpose for the 509t seems to be that there's more adapters for it to mount to rifles than the k cut.

@@HariboStarman The 509T is not RMR pattern. It includes a heavy, thick, RMR pattern adapter plate for the 509T to clamp to.
I love my EPS. It's miles easier to clean than a closed emitter when carrying concealed. Lint builds up much easier when I carry an open emitter. It's survived my M&P 10MM 4" so far with no issues. The Eotech EFLX did not survive on that gun. It lost zero after a couple of range trips and when I dropped the slide by mistake the emitter broke and lost zero forever. Got a replacement from Eotech, sold it, bought the EPS and never looked back.
I put the 407k on my 4.6 2.0 10mm and it’s doing great. Plus it doesn’t stick out at all when carrying it. Sometimes the bigger optics push your shirt out. I don’t find it any hard to draw and find the dot.
@EDVERSiTY Yeah.... Sage Dynamic's testing on the EFLX showed me it wasn't an isolated issue. One of the staff at the gun range I frequent talked about having the EXACT same issues as I did with one on his Staccato.
@EDVERSiTY Sage Dynamic's review substantiated everything I just said too. America still cannot make a good red dot. I love everything about the EFLX (exept for the buttons) it just does not work and will break if it's on anything other than a safe queen.

For anyone wondering the eps will fit on a staccato c2 with there Dawson Eps carry plate and screws from calculated kinetics which are longer.
I think using the same K footprint on both the EPS and EPS Carry means we could be one step closer to a universal optic footprint. Standardization takes some time, but once all red dots mount using the same footprint, all handguns come with K cut slides and everyone will run a red dot on their pistol.
The Canik METE SFx and SFT both are full sized pistols with the RMSCC footprint

It does, but they offer a plate that actually raises it a little bit (it'll be stupid low on a SS slide without the plate).
I was an early adopter of the 509-T and I like it but when I finally got around to getting the EPS green 6 MOA mounted on my Shadow Systems MR920 with the SS shim plate I fell in love with it! It is a major step in the right direction.
Do you have the Gen 1 or 2 509?
The EPS and EPS Carry screw holes line up perfectly with a Delta Point Pro cut. Similar to what you mentioned near the end. All you need is a filler plate. I run a EPS carry on my Sig P320 that was cut for a deltapoint pro. Been running 507k on it for a year before I upgraded. No issues.
What plate did you end up going with? I can only find the CHPWS slide plate, and they're out of stock everywhere!
@@BinaryPunyep, I'm having the same problem. Out of stock.... but if your p320 is like mine, where the rear sight comes off with the slide cover plate. You can get the chps plate with integrated rear sight. Those are in stock but they are like 125 bucks. But that's my only option since the filler plates are NEVER in stock...

I just had one mounted to the top of a LPVO as a passive dot, via welding the included plate to the top of a scope ring. Works well so far
509T on my razor, EPS on my duty pistol 👍

I run a full size EPS on a Shadow 2, USPSA Carry Optics gun and have a dovetailed Glock rear suppressor sight that co-witnesses with the stock Dawson Precision front sight. This setup is an absolutely a perfect match... I would run this optic on all of my pistols if I could...
Ive got one on a 5.74" Mete SFX Pro, and the sight is perfect for a full size gun. Absolutely perfect. It sits on the plastic spacer that comes with the gun. Does not obscure the irons in any way or fashion.
Why did you need the spacer? I thought the mete could mount k cut optics directly. Am i mistaken? I ask because i was considering an eps full-size for my mete pro as well. I'm currently running a 407c with adapter plate and I'd like to eliminate the plate.

@@Lucas12v the spacer is for the front and back of the shorter K style sights. There's a second spacer that lets a different footprint with a longer sight front to back mount as well. The spacer is thin polymer, and the iron sights sit well above even the 407K I had in it before.
They mill the slide pretty low, so most screws would be too long. With the right screws you can mount it without the spacer, but you'd have like 80 thou of empty space between the front and back of the sight.
Canik is direct cut for the K pattern . Screws straight into the slide just uses a polymer spacer . I run an EPS on my Canik Mete SF . The window is the same size as the 407C and 507C but with the benefits of a lower deck height , enclosed emmiter and smaller footprint .
Where do you get the polymer spacer?
Comes with the canik metes . You have to shave the rear posts off the poly plate though because the K cuts only use 2 front posts the rmsc uses all 4 @@boom_911
I really like the EPS carry Mrs. It makes my M&p 5.7 perfect for IWB carry. The circle is training wheels for finding your dot on a fast draw
The EPS optics also works out well for Staccatos as they only need an adapter plate and use the existing holes. If you’re going to mount a full-size EPS to a Staccato you will need to source the screws separately as the full-size EPS doesn’t come with the correct screws (407k/507k screws will work, or Calculated Kinetics sells screws that work).

The EPS is a great step forward for Enclosed pistol dots. I look forward to seeing what other companies can do following in Holosuns footsteps (if they even try that is)
100% agreed on everything stated. I'm going to try this as a piggyback alternative also.
I actually chose to put the full size eps on my 365xl. Without the raised irons and without the backup irons on the optic, you can see the top half of the irons through it. The bigger window is nice, and the overhang lines up with where my holster covers it.
I love the solar panels, it’s a nice backup providing there’s daylight but also the auto adjustment. But that’s me. Nice vid Hop 🤘🏻
Got a G45 milled for the EPS, really like it so far. Got them both for a great deal.
Holosun please release an RMR cut enclosed optic (preferably with the vulcan reticle)
I know I’m real late here, but surely you found your way to the 509T x2? They come in the 2moa dot/circle/circle dot where everyone just uses the plain dot, as well as a Vulcan model with the ACSS chevron and a 200 some moa circle that’s meant to help people find the dot if they’re prone to that issue, and it attaches to an included picatinny mount via an RMR cut. Very cool optic, I got one back when ACRO’s were unable to be found (now they’re brand new in the box on eBay for $450, or on eurooptics for $540). I paid $430 for an FDE 509T from “Heart of Armory Texas,” who I called on the phone because I was skeptical, and the owner answered and was just an awesome guy.

almost glad I wasn’t able to get an Acro then. I run it exclusively as a canted side dot on whichever gun needs it at the moment (with an Acog, elcan, PLXC, basically whatever I haven’t gotten a Romeo 4T Pro for yet .. although I might finally top mount it on the Elcan). I actually temporarily bought a Scalarworks LEAP mount for it while waiting to figure out what optic to put on a spear LT pistol …. And I didn’t hate it.

I'd be very interested in a Primary Arms Version of this with the ACSS reticle. If the 509t was good with it, this should be even better.
The choice is: Vulcan ACSS, or optics from the stone-age; I agree.
If you dry fire enough, practice on your draw and presenting the gun right, the dot will always be there

@@awokeone7997 In a life or death situation, you may not always be able to have perfect presentation. The wide circle makes you better prepared for contingencies like awkward shooting positions or even weak hand shooting.
@argonzificationd.1531 honestly, if you're in a life and death situation, either one might not help if you don't train or have LEO/Military experience where you have been in shoot outs. Benefits of it, is if you compete in the tactical/sporting shooting games

I have an EPS full on my PDP Pro Compact & ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! I got the 6 MOA green dot due to my astigmatism & its worked out PERFECTLY.
EPS works great on a shadow 2, 1,000 rounds so far (direct mount - Cajun gun works optic cut).
I also have two EPS carry optics on shield plus pistols with around 5,000 rounds through them. All have worked flawlessly. Need the adapter plate on the Shield plus pistol but you can still see the top half of your back up iron sights.
The only issue I had with the EPS carry is the battery died quickly. I went ahead and replaced it for $10, no issues since and I’ve left it on for months.
I used my last p permit to get a dagger for no reason and the day after palmetto had a dank sale on shadow 2
@@lililililililili8667 it’s my favorite pistol, immediately. Such a value to at $900 in your hands if you shop around. Plus $150 for the optics cut, cheaper than their optics ready one. It cut my groups in half at 25 yards, easily. I’m spoiled now. Other than some $3000+ guns I’ve shot that friends have that are more temperamental (2011’s), it’s the easiest gun to shoot. I own many handguns and I couldn’t recommend the shadow 2 more.
I've got one on my PSA Rock and its great. Its the only full sized gun I'm aware of that has a direct cut for the K series.
Shadow Systems are cut for the K & RMR.

Where’d you get the plate?
It's worth noting that S&W latest pistol, the M&P 5.7, has an optic ready slide that will direct connect to the Holosun K or EPS series red dots. The irony is that they don't provide the correct screws for the Holosun optics. Looks like Holosun is becoming the most popular red dot option considering their value proposition of delivering performance over price.
Same case with the PSA Rock 5.7. But the screws that came with my EPS carry worked for direct mounting it.
I modified my 43x MOS to allow the EPS Carry to direct mount. It’s pretty damn awesome
I have a full-size EPS mounted to both a Walther PDP and a Glock 19 MOS using CHPWS plates. I haven’t had issues with either and I have carried both.
What height sights do I need to co witness?

FWIW, a 509T wacked onto Glock MOS actually sits VERY low because the plate is quite thin as a result of where the MOS screws are located.
The same is NOT true when putting a 509T onto a RMR cut with an adapter.
What plate do you recommend?

Have both the eps and eps carry since they released. Had both slides cut for the k pattern for direct mount goodness. They have been outstanding. Wouldn't consider another pistol RDS at this point.
I agree. At this point the only RDS I would get over it for a pistol would be the RMR if for some reason I wanted an option that was proven to be bomb proof. That being said…. I haven’t seen anyone do drop tests for the EPS so I can’t say they won’t do well in those too.
I've got several Holosun 507 C models, a 507k, and an EPS. The glass clarity and dot crispness on the EPS are much better than the other models. All my 507 sights are side-load battery, not early versions.
At this point I think the 507 sights better for secondary sights on scoped carbines, but I'm not going to spend the $$ to swap them all over.
@@seanoneil277 yea that sounds about normal. Like if you already have other decent Red dot sights it’s not really worth switching em all over. But every pistol red dot I get from now on will be probably the EPS unless I need another dot for any specific reason
The guys at Shadow Systems and Mossberg owe you lunch. In part to your reviews I picked up a Foundation Series MR920 and DR920, both running the EPS 2 MOA, and a MC2SC with the EPS Carry 2 MOA. QVO Tactical has recently released a decent AIWB holster for the MC2SC. Solid 6/10.
I went from an RMR06 to an EPS MRS on my staccato P. Effective window size is better and closed emitter. No complaints.
I'm a big fan of the solar panel in combo with a smaller battery I hope they start doing that on other optics
The 509T doesn't need an adapter plate if you just get a dedicated slide; which makes it bomb proof also. I have one and it's great. I have a 508T also on a G35 RMR cut.. but if I get another one --- it will definitely be the 509T again, with another dedicated slide. I love it. (if not the EPS; I'm sold on it too).
I just sent my Glock slide to Wager for a 509T cut. I can't wait to see how it turned out.

Nice pistol, got to shoot one a while ago and it was the best shooting "glock" pistol I had ever shot. Smooth recoil and slide, very easy to keep on target.
Stellar optics mounting design
The Mossberg 940 is cut for a RMSC/Holosun k and would pair perfectly with an EPS
The Canik Mete SFT/SFX are full size pistols with micro footprints. The EPS looks good on them.
Glock 45, slide was cut for EXPS Carry. ≈300rds with it, ≈50 while using Nods. The four NV settings are different enough to work in most conditions ie outsode low light, to inside with a surefire X300V illuminator
I run an EPS on an M&P 2.0 compact. Great edc setup
Since the EPS shares the same front boss and screw pattern of the DPP, it can be easily mounted to anything with a DPP cut (and if it has the rear post(s), you can just cut it down like the G43x/48). It can direct fit to the FN509 pattern, but the suppressor height sights make it not really worth doing. Especially with the SCS-320 coming out supposedly in the next couple weeks (according to a holosun employee).
I'm curious why you think solar powered is bullshit. Because I only use red dots for range toys, not carry I haven't seen a drawback to solar, in fact even Oregon's sometimes not-so-bright daylight I've run one of those solar optics without a battery in it at all.
I just had a Holosun EPS carry put on my Glock 43x MOS because it was at my FFL gun store. I'm gonna put it through a reliability test this weekend. I put 3 to 5 hundred rounds through my conceal carry handguns before I start to carry it. I figure if something is gonna 💩 the bed it'll be at the range. Better there than a real situation.

All this time I thought the full size EPS was a direct RMR mount.
Edit: Sig has moved the optics cut farther forward on the 365x and XL models now, allowing the rear sight to stay in place. They also have suppressor heigh sights available, but only with the craptacular RomeoZero Elite pre-installed.
I use the full size EPS on a Glock 48. I like the extra window size on a carry gun.
Pretty sure the factory cut on the canik mete pistols is for the holosun K footprint because the canik optic uses the same footprint so the EPS should work on those. They’re also awesome pistols I recommend anyone try out

Also I've dropped my EPS carry mounted on a 365 XL on driveaway asphalt once with no issues besides the paint slightly chipping on the holosun logo from the top, for anyone wondering about the durability.

Sold all my 509T's for the EPS series. MY CZ's that were milled for rmr footprint and lost the rear irons gets the carry model for the notches. The adapter plate for the 509 is only a bit more than 1oz but feels like a brick when you hold it side by side to an EPS.
EPS comes with RMR to RMRcc adapter plate and cowitnesses with suppressor height sights (same height as a 507c when used with the plate). The EPS carry model DOES NOT come with RMR to RMRcc plate and comes with only a RMRCC plate.
I'll only buy EPS/EPS Carries until Holosun releases their next gen of enclosed emitters. They are fantastic.
The Sig X Full has a footprint from the factory that fits a "K" cut without a plate.

I like the circle dot and always like when I can have a circle by itself as well. Maybe that comes from being used to the AUG donut.

Just swapped my 507k out with the EPS on xmacro I carry everywhere and couldn’t be happier with the change. Sure I have some overhang of the optic on either side of the gun due to the larger optic but I honestly couldn’t care less. Larger window, closed emitter so it checked all the boxes on what I didn’t care for on the 507k. Great optic so far, time will determine if my opinion changes.

No plate, they both work on the 507k footprint.

They have full size pistols with this pattern, it's the same pattern for the shield RMS series optics. May just need slight modification on the lugs
Looked at the full size in the shop recently. Saw a ton of distortion with the ring reticle in the upper 1/3 of the glass, to the point id probbaly switch to dot only. That being said the auto-brigthness was actually perfectly usable under artificial light, unlike my 507c that becomes unusably dim.
The ring distortion is common in the EPS line due to emitter placement in the housing and the glass angle...just use the 2moa dot

Jokes aside, the Carry model doesn't appear to distort quite as badly due to the smaller window. Did have a defunctive accelerometer in my first unit though.
The Canik Mete series is all small-footprint optics ready - even the larger versions.

I think trijicons issue with the RMRcc was the fact it’s like over double the price of a 407k for less features.
It probably could have fit the RMSC footprint too if they were willing to use a 1632 cell. That would have made it a lot more competitive IMO.
The california version of the p365 also has always kept the rear iron sights even though they also have an LCI on the top of the slide

EPS carry is great none of the other enclosed options seem as nice. My 507 comp just came and I'm going to put it on my p365 baby edition just to be a silly goose with an optic that is almost 2x wider than the slide.

The RMRcc died because it was late to the game with a bullshit footprint that no gun had and it cost double that of its competition. I don’t think people have caught on yet that Trijicon is just hawking decades old tech, that lacks any modern feature, at cutting edge prices.
the SW mp57 uses the same footprint if I remember right, it's got a full size slide and a g19 esque frame

I have an open emitter, I carried it for a couple days while waiting on a friend to help me sort some backup irons on the slide with the EPSc, and the dust bowl is indeed a thing.

I too have open and closed emitters…… I now borderline hate open emitters due to how convenient and easy to clean closed emitters are. I just meant closed emitters have been the bees knees for a bit and are probably not going anywhere.

But the solar panel feature is pretty nice. I have it set for very low for indoor use and when I go outside to the range I've never had to change it. It is exactly where it needs to be brightness level when I go outside so I think it's a great feature.
