Hi there! I have a similar bike, the VS600. Smaller I know but i like it. Took my licence last year so it fills my need so far. I was planning to drill my exhaust as you did. How long was the drills you were using and which diameter? Thanks for the help and also nice sound! :)
Hi man, and your bike is nice too, and the conditions you have in your country, did you never felt tempted to change the bike more to your style? I wish i could have such nice roads and price offers like you have there... Thanks for answer my postage.
+mmmaaawww Thanks! And yes, I wouldn't mind taking her apart, painting her black, adding some Z bars and straight pipes... but at the moment I'm looking for a bigger bike and don't want to hurt the resale value too much. Where you from, man?
Had to ebay a set of pipes for the bike I got because some idiot previously had trashed out the pipes by doing this. Couldn't even ride it because my ears would be ringing afterwards.
Bill Z Almost two years later after this mod, I still feel like it isn't loud enough lol. I did crank it though. I know because I had metal shavings shoot back on my leg in this video and cut me up lol.
Nice! I did this to mine shortly after watching your video - but I only punched through the first two plates by going in through the center. Still contemplating going through that front one also, but I'm worried about it sounding tinny and awful - it would be a good excuse for aftermarket slip-ons, but at $300 that's out of the question right now.
RIP Dr. Bob.
@ Passed away a while ago now
I was lucky in I had a chance to both Meet & Ride with Dr. Bob :(
on his bike?@@tmlhkyfn
Great video, just what I was looking for. Thanks!
did you have to do adjust anything with carbs after doing this?
Nope! This is one of the few bikes that tolerates it

+mmmaaawww Thanks, dude.

Safe assumption this would work on Suzuki Intruder VS700 too?
Yep. The 700/800 are nearly identical.
Use a hole saw to remove the baffling. Sounds way better FYI. 2 1/2 in works but probably 2 and 3/4 is better. My bike sounds amazing after doing so
wow sounds quieter
Very nice
Dr Bob's original write up is no longer reachable since he passed. Do you have it downloaded, would be sweet if it could get reposted.
Joe Jett it was archived on a different site after his passing. Hope I can still find it.
Dude, that does sound MUCH better.
Would you please explain what the step one and step two is?
Thanks for your prompt response and the easy to understand instructions.
What size Drill bits did you use?
1/2" installer's length bits.
What should be the length of the drill?
Normal drill-sized. Lol.
In all seriousness though, just make sure it can handle a 1/2" bit.
Drill bit should be 12 inches.
Venom's Black Metal!!!!
Why would anyone destroy the beautiful tone from the 800 intruder
Briggs and Stratton have their place in motorcycling, but this isn't it.

Odd... mine were still pretty quiet afterwards but you could hear them for once. Check out my current bike if you'd like to hear loud pipes. :)
We have earplugs for that
Sander Joosten why? All to say look at me I'm loud?
@@noelleonard2498 bikes need to have some sound in them
@@sanderjoosten3254 You only hear them after they pass you 90% of the sound projects backwards. Loud pipes don't save lives
Какой рост в тебе?
+Anselmo Games Незначительные успехи в HP. Намного лучше звук!
Fuck it , I’m gonna do it . Seriously I’m doing it and if I have to rejet my bike I might cry 😢
You won't need to lol.
Also, congrats on finding my oldest video hahaha
For f*ck sake, wind it up a little and let the pipes ring!! Lol, great video man. Thanks!!

I only went through the front one in the center hole. I promise, it's an amazing sound compared to stock. Not tinny at all.
