That is a great machine. A fellow standing beside me won one in a draw. I was very happy for him. A 6 inch coil is a nice size to work with in tailings. I am sure you will get lots of use with the machine and coil combination. Thanks for sharing.
hunting with thise little ones for me is always the most fun my detectors became different en new detectors since i use those little ones. you do not vover that much ground but go slow and systematic and you will be surprised big time on every hunt no matter you seravh for gold or not
If you pump the coil up and down in all metal mode and the number starts moving all around its probably junk, you can also hit the target with the side of the coil and usually get a junk sound and number, if it's a solid number doing both you got a nice target.
Thanks that helps me a lot now I have to watch out for those I'm new at my metal detector I'd do a lot of panting myself I live in Canada the caribou still getting lots of snow right now and thank you for the information I'll keep that in mind when I see Hot Rocks you seem to know your stuff that's good nice to have someone know what they're talkin about with metal detectors I wouldn't have known about the wire that you need to tape it down I just did that thank you for the information that helps me a lot
Loved this video... It is a great to see what this machine is capable of. BB's... Really... That is actually awesome... I was glad to see you find some gold too. But with the BB's, that was just a matter of time. I have been considering getting one of these machines but have been on the fence with a few others. But after watching this, can"t go wrong. I really enjoy your videos. Thanks Again for this one!!!
Thanks Bill for the video with the 800 considering one for my self. You gave me a good idea of what to anticipate for myself. Happy hunting and good swinging.
Such a damn good informative video. I have an 800 and am about to purchase a 6” for coins in the parks in SoCal but can’t wait to move back to my hometown of Tucson and join some clubs for claims. Every time you found a nugget, I smiled man. I’m stoked. Thanks again and always enjoy watching your videos!
Congrats you’re probably the first one that found gold with the 6 inch coil. Can’t wait to get my equinox 800 out and look for gold with it. It’s hard to get away from the 7000 right now. Can’t wait to see you compare the gold monster against equinox.
I've picked up a lot of little bits of aluminum with the 600, I'm in an area where there's not likely to be gold nuggets on the ground. Thanks for sharing your hunt with the 6" coil. That thing looks exciting :D
The Hunting BB's With Bill Show , cracking me up this morning ! , thanks , needed the grin, ashes settling down around here, heading out to hunt for the day, not bad at all, have a good one ; )
Great video! I'm in the market for an EQ 800 and doing my research. I'll mostly be beach and coin/relic hunting with it but I have future hopes of doing some prospecting in California. This confirms my hopes that this machine would fill that need nicely. Thanks again for some solid, no nonsense info.
Hey Bill thanks for your videos I was undecided about whether I should get a new 15" coil or a 6" after going over you videos I will get a 6" thanks for the information
What a cute little coil! Nice nuggets, no see ums eh? I'd put ear buds in I think, but I'm sure you like hearing your surroundings out there! Tc and Happy Hunting
Always wear headphones when not filming, take them off so you can hear. Critters are not much of a worry if you got your wits about you. Thanks for watching!
Hi bill good going just rang my detector shop said the 6in should be out in Australia next week he is ringing ML on Monday so we are a few weeks behind. $229 au$ can not what. HASSA....
Congrats on the nuggets, Bill! Man, you sure are making me hungry for some gold. My 6" will be in Friday so I'll be hitting it hard and heavy this weekend here in New Hampshire.
Bill have you or any of your subscribers used the Coiltek 10"x5" coil, obviously it would give more coverage than the 6" but I'm wondering about the sensitivity, compared to the 6" and the 11". I'm thinking it probably sits in the middle but would like to hear from those with real world experience gold hunting.
Hello, thank you very much for the informed videos you upload, I have a question for you about your experience with the two Minelab metal detectors. My question is: I am about to buy a metal detector for native gold in the river and on the river bank in old embankments. In your experience, which metal detector of the two would you recommend me to take Minelab Gold Monster 1000 or Minelab EQUINOX 800 and 6 Inch Coil
Cool video Bill. Looking back at this, I recon your favourite between the Equinox 800 and the Gold Monster 1000 would nowadays be the GM1000 with a 6" coil? I sill think the EQ800 is pretty good valve for money compared to performance, but the GM1000 just seems to be the superior detector. Nice gold!!
Any gold is good gold in my book 👍 In the UK we keep our ground balance at zero. I would also use Field 2 with 2 tones and except and reject at -9 to 1 or 2.. Then you won't have trouble with hotrocks. Not sure if this will help you? HH Jack
NUGGET SHOOTER Hi Bill, Yeah your highly mineralized soil looks like a real challenge and you have the high temperatures that don't help with the depth in the soil. Over here in South Wales UK I hardly get your extremely hot weather but all my permissions are also on highly mineralized soil, that once were Roman settlements and this land is contaminated with iron, hotrocks and we also get black coal/coke rocks that are very highly conductive. I've been detecting for over 30 years and I've never been so impressed with a detector before, as I have been with the Equinox 800. It will find tiniest targets that even a pinpointer has trouble to locate to Roman gold Staters. I would stick with Equinox because if it's there then it will find it for you. I only used the Field 1 or 2 programmes that I've modified. The tones do need to be adjusted so iron, mid and high tones stand out better. I set my except & reject at -9 to 1 or 2 because coke and hotrocks come up at ids of 1 and 2. Hotrocks will still show up in single frequency. I would experiment using the machine without ground balancing (keep it on Zero) and just noise cancel. Because multi frequency is very sensitive, cell phones will interfere with the Equinox. So just switch you cell phone to flight mode and you're all good. When the Nox is in single frequency cell phones do not effect it. You might know all this already but if not the I hope it helps. I'm learning from your experiences withe 6" coil which looks very impressive in the gold fields. HH Jack
I do really dislike no see ums. A pest we both share like skidders eh. Great to see after all that lead you got some pay today. We have to use steel shot up here now. Would that help much ? Well new toy, new rules eh. Thanks for today's post my friend.
Tomoko's Enterprize we have millions of no seeums at the saw grass beachs here. Calgon morning glory fragrance spray works better than anything else we have tried. Makes you smell a little girly but its a small concession not to get eaten up.
Hi Bill, so if the 600 & 800 are great beach machines and both find gold jewelry. What makes the 800 a superior nugget machine. Thanks, Martin. Good going on your gold!
Hi Bill, Way cool man. I have my 6" on order. Nice to see you snag a couple of bits of the good stuff. What frequency settings were you in? I love the Multi IQ. Some magic voodoo stuff happens in Multi IQ. Love it. Cheers. Best of luck out there.
can you tellme the settings you are usin? sensibility, threshhold, etc? i got a equinox 800 last week i went to the river in asuza mountains in california but i think i got the wrong settings for gold.
Well, I bet you were late for your work!?!? I now regret buying secondhand minelab sd2100! It looks like nox800 can replace gm1000, sdc2300,gpx-5000, and gpz7000???? Thanks for your video! Hello from Melbourne, Australia!
What advantages does the Equinox have over any other VLF machine in those conditions you are working in? Seems like shallow nuggets wouldn’t be too much of a challenge. I run a GPX and just got a Nox to replace my AT Pro, but the AT machine pulled gold earring backs like nobody’s business so I think it would find those shallow nuggets as well. What do you think?
I mention in the video that I would not trade it for any of my gold detectors as that (nugget shooting) is my huckleberry... As far as a final take my friend I am not ready for a couple reasons, not an experienced Coin/Relic detector user, and not enough time on it to start finalizing an opinion. will do more my friend and like I always say it is about knowing your detector and making it sing, you got that.... I do know the EQX 800 is a new animal.....
NUGGET SHOOTER I understand your perspective. I don’t have any decent nugget ground around here so I keep my skills up by hunting whatever I can. I’ve never used anything but a PI for nugget hunting so I know how challenging they are in mineralized ground, The 800 is a different breed, but I’m cautious until I get more time on it. Meanwhile, I’ll be watching your channel for continuing education.
First round sold out in 4 hours, will have more in a week or so, they are being allotted out like the 800 was when released there are so many orders already.
Hi John, that totally depends on where I am hunting, depth, amount of trash, etc. I like the 6 inch for shallow or very trashy ground and the 11 inch for deeper ground with less trash as a rule.
@@NUGGETSHOOTER I was curious, I am looking at the 800, we live in Idaho and was trying to decide if I needed to get the smaller coil also or just play around with the stock. You can reach me also at indianajones67@gmail.com Look forward to talking to you soon. Happy Digging!!
Hello, I would greatly appreciate your help to have your opinion, I am writing to you from Chile. I owned an equinox 800 a little over a year ago with the original 11-inch coil, and I want to ask you if using a 6-inch coil has any considerable advantage to justify your purchase. I usually look in places that sometimes have aluminum and some drink fins, I have not had major problems with the 11-inch coil, Since I have never tried a 6-inch I can not understand if it is worth using, I have also wanted to start grass searches that are in the streets that can have a great search opportunity since my city is very virgin in metal detection, I also want to give it a very casual use in search of a ring or gold nuggets in Rios at the time of heat that allows me to put my feet in the cold waters where I live. Your help will be of great help for a possible purchase. Thank you for the time you take to respond.
Hi Bill I'm new to metal detecting, I have at max at pro ,I'm thinking upgrading to the equinox 800 ,would the settings be hard for a beginner like me thanks 😊
Great video. I could hear the sensitivity slightly when I watched this with headphones. Is that the way you set up a threshold based detector for small areas or is that typical for detecting also?
Hi Woody, the larger coil is not as sensitive to the tiny stuff and the bigger coils cover more ground making it hard to get into and between rocks etc. When I hunt deep I use Pulse Induction.
There was only a small first batch shipped by Minelab to us dealers, mine sold out the first day, but will have more in a week or so. Best bet is to prepay with your dealer so you are in on the next round.
SORRY about the abrupt ending, not sure what happened and was just me signing off.... No big loss lol
NUGGET SHOOTER Thanks for sharing. I'll be watching.
Had that feeling once u got that 6 inch you would find gold..now I can't wait to get mine
Great hunt Bill. Thanks for showing us what the 6" coil will do on the Equinox...
Amazing machine. Great exibition on what it's capable of. Thanks for the video.
Congrats on finding gold first time out with the new head 👍

Great hunt brother. I'll be getting that coil here soon for my nox 800. I'm sure it makes your machine feel very light while you're out using it.
It does and it is very sensitive to small targets even in heavy trash or hot soils.

Love it gold b gold ya!
Awesome buddy I cant wait to get a 6inch coil for my Nox. I subscribed!
Great video Bill ....please give the coil cable a bit more slack so to not damage the interior wires. Loose at the connection points .....wire 101.
There is enough slack and keeping the wire secure lessens false signals from the coil heading its own wire.
1201 GOLD Yee Haa..
Congratulations.
Now all you have to decide is what detector you are going to take out.!!
Cheers Tony.👍🍺⛏
Most times during cooler hunting season it is the Pulse Induction detector :-)

Great video. I could hear the sensitivity slightly when I watched this with headphones. Is that the way you set up a threshold based detector for small areas or is that typical for detecting also?
I run a threshold on all detectors if available as it allows me to hear those small "bumps" that could be a deep or faint target.
How deep can that coil go? And, I am sure the bigger the nugget the deeper or the stronger the signal will be, aye?
yes
Well.. I must say... I watched your video with the Minelab GM 1000 .... it appears to me... the 800 is better. With target ID... ect.
I have some videos hunting with the 800 and explain the differences in my playlist Bill

Depends, gold only hunting? GM 1000, to do both 800
fixing to buy me a 600.. I hear that theres not a lot of difference.. Your thoughts?
Bill what is the advantage of the 6" vs the stock coil? Wouldn't the stock coil detect deeper?
Hi Woody, the larger coil is not as sensitive to the tiny stuff and the bigger coils cover more ground making it hard to get into and between rocks etc. When I hunt deep I use Pulse Induction.
Nice video. Congratulations for the two nuggets.
