It's not a "No! No! No! It's not what you think!" ecchii tale.
It's not a cringey light novel about a pervert collecting a harem.
It's a psychological drama filled with suspense.
It contains shaky alliances, betrayal, bribery, espionage, blackmail, negative propaganda, high Intrigue, and violence.
It's too cerebral to fit in with any of those other genres.
That's why trying to guess who Ayanakouji is going to end up with in the end is missing absolutely everything.

Maximum of them, when they show an evil person and are centered around them, they show how a normal person turns into a monster, and then in the end, they come to realize it themselves and begin to crumble, but COTE is somehow different from this typical setting, it becomes a story about a monster who is trying to change to normal, going in the completely different and opposite direction. Ayanokouji's main aim isn't to collect a harem, but just to experience a small amount of feeling of love which he had never experienced. He shows how he uses people, but hides away his own pain of being used, his teachers wanted to use him, the people around him want to use him, his father also wants to use him. To them, he's a masterpiece, to a reader, he becomes a cool protagonist, but to the people who actually understand him, he becomes a helpless person, despite having the powers to basically have everything.

I never gave any thought at all to how Ayanakouji has had his strings pulled by others all his life. That's actually a spot-on truth.
That gives us readers even more reason to empathize with him.
He might have deadened his own emotions for more than 15 years of his life, but it wasn't a decision he would have made if his life had been normal. The White Room didn't teach students to be unfeeling zombies. (Fifth Generation students Ichika, Nanase, and Yagami all showed emotions freely.)
Ayanakouji became a "monster" because he adopted that coping mechanism to survive the personal trauma of the cult-like indoctrination of The White Room.

And yes, many people have tried to use Ayanokouji. Chabashira tried to blackmail Ayanokouji so that he could help her reach Class A. Suzune also tried to use Ayanokouji (but that backfired shortly). His father had always used him (in fact, he still wants to use him in his domination plan). But according to Ayanokouji, people are tools, he is someone else's tool, and others are his tool. Ayanokouji has indirectly implied that it doesn't matter to him if he gets used, but if he gets that benefit and the win which he wants, then he is ready to get used as well. Examples of this would be Ayanokouji getting used by Tsukishiro and when he was trying to expel him. At that time, Ayanokouji went closer to Tsukishiro, basically deducing his authority over the school, and basically using that information to attack Tsukishiro back, which in turn made him become the victor in the end. So yes, these are my thoughts, I really hope Ayanokouji does show some emotions, though I think that after feeling emotions, Ayanokouji will basically become mentally much stronger, being able to use those emotions into fighting his enemies, and his perception of emotions will have also improved.

Well, the only explanation to ayanakoji falling in love for real lies within his dna, maybe the Ayanakoji family secretly has a type they like genuinely in the past.

Yagami on the last day morning put a note on Horikita's camp and when she saw it that hinted Ayanokoji in danger she tried to go to the location he's in which mentioned in it which is where he fought Tsukishiro and Shiba
But Ichika came to her and didn't let Horikita go to that place because Koji doesn't need help and she can't involve Horikita in White room related things
Then they fought and Ibuki came to help Horikita and they defeated Ichika but then found out Ichika was already injured before the fight
Ichika told Horikita that she knows Koji more than her and which made Horikita jealous and she said Ichika may know him better now but in the end she'll know him more and the one that'll help him if he needed any help
And she literally risked her own expulsion while fighting Ichika just to make sure to see if Koji is safe and also admitted that he's her first and only friend

She has always been the main heroine. Ayanokouji has been literally raising her and teaching her everything he knew, fixing all her flaws. Because he wants to be defeated by her. This is his thesis, a normal person capable of defeating a white room student. So, from any perspective, she is really important to him because she is related to his life goal and purpose in a way Kei couldn't even compete.

They are both alike, their primary drive is their self-hatred and need to protect themselves above all else.
Kei's prologue in y1 v4 and the talk she had with Kiyotaka are basically his own life, the self-loathing, the trauma that broke them both in ways most wouldn't understand, how they are both scared for life( Kiyo mentally and Kei physically )is something he himself recognised, maybe similar to how Kirei Kotomine from Fate thought that by being with a woman who was similar to him in some way he would feel something but the end result being nothing.
Actually, him breaking up with her it might be good for her. She's too much of a parasite. He even said that she barely let's him have time for herself. Perhaps him breaking up with her will be good for her.
