Too much alcantara! Especially the steering wheel. Nothing like absorbing all of your hand sweat and smoothing out the areas where you normally drive from. They look like shit after 20000 miles and can never really be cleaned properly! I think the leather wheel is classier and more functional.
I'd much rather have a leather wheel myself! I think you and I are the only 2 that appreciate leather in this situation, though. Everyone seems to love alcantara on these spots...
@@HorsePowerObsessed I have a leather wheel in my 3LT C7...its All Good...and the Carbon Fiber in it, is a nice touch too...the most Luxury I ever had in a car's interior.

So this exact car was the first C8 I ordered and had Blackout do a PPF on it. Owned it for a few months and took it to the track a few times. Then someone bought it off of me for a really good price. I've now confirmed my order for the '21 convertible. I really liked the red and black interior, but it was a bit too 'loud' after a while. The '21 'vert is getting the all-black interior, but I had to go with Elkhart Lake Blue again. It's just that beautiful in all lighting. By far my favorite color! I do have a ZL1 6MT getting delivered in a week to hold me over until the '21 C8 is ready to pick up. Can't wait to get behind the wheel of a C8 again!
I so appreciate that you are not connected to some big "Texas Corvette Dealership" that is so cheap and unprofessional, I love it that you are in the lot of a small business owner, the heart of America - keep it up - don't sell out.
Hey, that’s my car! Good review dude. Glad you liked the 3LT and color combo. Blackout definitely did a good job with it. The ceramic coating is unreal! Glad I had it done.
Absolutely! They really know their stuff up there! I appreciate you allowing this to happen, I didn't get to talk to you about it personally so I just wanted to thank you! Are you local?
You are 100% right. Blackout Tinting has some real class acts that work for them. The owner himself is a fantastic person. It's amazing that they are great people and also do great work.
The center buttons keep you out of the infotainment screen for HACV controls. You must have stock in the Napa Leather Suppler and the carbon fiber is an option for the 2LT and the 3LT!
Is there a difference in size on the Gt1 and GT2 seats, I’m looking for the most comfortable and don’t like to sit in to tight seats, I’m 6 feet tall and 200 pounds
The 3lt definitely is nice that you get the automatic front lift that's like a must I think the carbon fiber seems like that's something you can maybe add to your 2LT down the road and where's the cigarette lighter for the radar detector I'm sure there's a USB port maybe there's a converter to plug a radar detector to USB the lift button in the front and the trim package on the exterior makes it worth it I think have a good one Happy Easter stay safe
Lol, reading through the comments. The red and blue is definitely an acquired taste. I always loved the red and blue contrast and it gets more compliments than any other interior I’ve owned. I’m glad I was able to build it exactly how I wanted. The car is simply amazing!
Beautiful car...thanks for the video. The only problem with the coupe is that there is no luggage space when the top is in the trunk...that's tough if you are going cross country.
The interior is just a bit too busy, the carbon fiber helps, they should really consider anodizing the aluminum to a dark smoke grey to blend it. Might be interesting to offer anodized colors like red and blue, maybe some matching wheels?
My C8 Corvette is in Long Beach, CA waiting for a boat to Hawaii. From what I'm told my friend Mike and I will have the only 2, 2020 Corvettes in Hawaii. Mine shipped 1 day before Bowling Green Shut down. I have VIN 2031. Aloha, Mark
I don't think the interior in red goes at all with the blue. Three grand wasted because when he sells it in 3 years no one will want it with that color combination. Immediately will have to discount it by $6K just to unload it.
Don't be so quick to hate or judge. There are people who like that color combination. It wouldn't need to be discounted if there are enough people who would consider it.
ShinyBlackRims Everyone has their own idea on what they like. I am just saying it is nothing I would go for and if I found a deal on that combo at a Dealership I would keep looking.
I ordered a C8 with 2LT and added the NAPA leather seating upgrade for the GT2 seats. Do you know if this upgrade only provides NAPA on the seating or if it will add NAPA on doors or other interior surfaces?
Just fyi to everybody. Before you pick up your c8 from the dealer make sure when they show you the car you go through it with a fine tooth comb for any perfections before signing the dotted line. Paint job stitching screws bubbling scratches you name it if i find any of those i will not sign until fixed. These cars are mass produced which increases chances of imperfection. Less likely to happen with a ferrari but then again they dont make as much so less chance it could happen but still it can just rarely.
I ordered a 3LT also, very happy I did. And I got the carbon interior package. I don't understand why Chevy didn't make the gear selector in carbon to match the mode selector. That's the one thing that bugs me. It's really messing with my OCD/Feng Shui. :)
As mentioned the front lift is available on 2Lt because I put that on mine. As for color, that is all personal taste. I went simple LBR with black, Z51. Hate Alcantera so 3Lt was not worth it to me. The carbon fiber inserts were too much for too little in my opinion. Love the car but it is not a fighter cockpit. I flew F-4s and F-16s over 20 years and they do not have cockpits like this. Just sayin
I know that adrenaline red has an orange tone mixed with red and in this video it looks almost like a burnt orange color. The crimson red that Corvette used from 2014-16 was more of a true red
2LT>3LT the price is not justified. the g2 seats, heads up display, 14 bose speakers, and upgraded infotainment/performance recorder is what justifies the upgrade from 1LT to 2LT.

I'm not too sure I would push up on the handles in order to release the roof. Roof weighs 15 pounds or so, and I don't think the handles are designed to be loaded in that manner.
Removing the T-top is also the same as the C6. FWIW, with all the wizardry included in the C8, I half expected that you would just press a button to release all three locking points. Love the Hyperion case. I wonder if they make it in colors? Seeing the factory CF interior appointments, it will be interesting to see what the after-market comes up with for add'l CF pieces for the interior. As to the racing seats, starting with the C7s, the shiny black backs are what I really do like! I also like the C8 dash eye-lids, color accented or not. As to the interior rear-view mirror, when you activate it to camera mode, is the auto dimming feature non-existent? LIke for night-time driving? Great review Justin!👍
Thanks, Peter! The Hyperion case does come in 3 different colors and one would match Ruby perfectly! I was surprised to see the exact same latch setup as the C7 and C6 on there myself!

if you order the red micro seats then they make you add the st wheel and the stit and the two tone charge at 1385 you can get black seat with red or yellow stitching for a less up charge 395 up charge of the lift is 1500 everthing you said is a up charge on the 3LT 1385+1495+1500 on top of the 3LT package price of 11950= 16330
That red would work much better with black, white or grey, for example. It also depends on the car, with some exceptions. For example a black Prius with a red velour interior? No. I can’t even bring myself to post what that makes me think.
Aloha, I did figure out how to LIKE on my TV, you just have to scroll to the left with the remote and click on ... More. Then you can choose a thumbs up. Aloha, Mark
Of course this is all subjective, but I just don't see it. Of course 3LT is a step up from 2LT. The question is, is that upgrade worth $5K? Not to me, not even close. Not even worth a thought, , , to me! The front end lift is an option to both, the 2LT and 3LT as far as I know. That will also be something I get. If that's included in 3LT, then I would be in on 3 LT. I still think the lift is an option.
The more I here about the options the less I like them. Don't like suede, don't need most of the stuff just something to break. Too bad they don't allow more individual options on the LT1 such as the video rearview mirror, heads up and or the better sound system. There are some early flaws many of these flaws are in the upgrades. In two years expect a lot of refinements including airflow to the motor, they might even reduce the amount of water that lands on the motor in the rain or during washing.
I may be wrong, but I believe the reason you couldn't see the errant mirror reflections that your camera was picking up was because you were wearing polarized sunglasses at the time.
That looks like alot of work, I just push and hold a button and get the true experience of the convertible in my 3LT C7 vert...lol...ok I put a car cover on it when its parked, does that count for yes I care?
The only way i would buy that clunky fob blocker is if i could somehow push a button exposing the fob to start the car im not gonna take that thing out and take the fob out and😴
The quality of the leather and the extra attention to detail is worth it by itself but you also get the GT2 seats standard which are nicer looking (carbon fiber, etc) than the GT1. It comes down to personal preference, really.
When we are offered options as consumers, we all win. That color combo might not be my favorite or your favorite, but the owner wanted it and because he was given the choice, he was able to get exactly what he wanted and that's awesome.
The only way a key can be copied is when u press a button like unlock , then its copied , u need to have key out to get into ur car which is when it will be copied....
That's not completely true. The key is always communicating back and forth with the car. That's how the car knows it's out of the actual car and will automatically lock if you have that option turned on.
@@HorsePowerObsessed that is true as well. I believe it was abc news did a documentary , it's on utube I seen it. But that case defeats purpose , u cant keep key in case while your in the car or car wont work and no point to keep key in case when your out/away from car because it's not cominaticating to be copied...
If they could deliver this blue 3LT with a red interior they could have built my 2LT blue with a adrenaline red interior only difference is the seats would be 1GT vented seats in all red!
Phil Salley I prefer vented, bolsters GT1 seats to GT2 seats. If I were spending another 2k on my C8 it wouldn’t be for GT2 seats. They GT1s are engineered to get the job done. It is bad enough that GM wants $590.00 to put a adrenaline red interior in an Elkhart Lake Blue Car. I wonder if they want that much more for the orange seat belts on top of what they get for orange seat belts. Back in the day when you had to add seat belts to have them all colors cost the same.
Phil Salley I have owned 3 Porches so you are preaching to choir and all the offered options respect prospective buyers of the C8. The model for me is the 2LT trim which is a real value for the package options received. The options I am looking at on my C8 Corvette, I am look to provide Value toward any 2024 Corvette that I may plan to have in the future.
@@superchief15 2LT seems like value proposition but not necessarily. Everything in LT2 is Mulan (ie, not real, probably something akin to bonded) leather. There is a $4650 difference but the GT2 with Napa leather seats which have lumbar support is a $1495 upgrade on LT2 reducing difference to only $3155. Remember the LT3 is full Napa leather dash, steering wheel center and doors are full leather top and bottom so seems LT3 might actually be best choice. Imagine if you could get all those upgrades in a Porsche for that amount of money.
Going for the 3LT CF $$$$+ packages and interior colors options just don't make the C8 any different than the 2LT and a few options required for some like the engine lights you have to get the CF engine package.. Sucks. They are just add -on's anyway.
why do people car it f Alcantara that is a name brand of a company that makes micro fabric GM never said it was that they say it is micro-fabric if they call it by name then they could me sued if not using there name brand off brand are 1/2 the cost so i think GM is using that to save money well that is just me note: Alcantara is the brand name of a common synthetic textile material. It has a soft, suede-like microfiber pile and is noted for its durability. Alcantara is commonly seen in automotive applications, as a substitute for leather and vinyl in vehicle interior trim
Seems irrelevant bc most of the things noted as a difference are just options that are available with both models. Carbon fiber interior is best example. 5k more for more leather options....

Loved the Superman reference. The exact colors of Clark's alter ego. Good vid Justin. Well explained. Not a big fan of the Napa...C7 dashboard issues. Thx Justin 👍😉
Thanks, JT! I think that issue was fixed early on (2016ish) but too early to tell for the C8.
Catching up on your videos. Always learn something new. the rear view mirror.
I'm glad I could help!
Is the stitching on the dash crooked like many C8 owners are complaining about?
David K. It’s not perfect like my Audi, but it’s not as bad as others have had.
if you order the red micro seats then they make you add the st wheel and the stit and the two tone charge at 1385
you can get black seat with red or yellow stitching for a less up charge 395
up charge of the lift is 1500
everthing you said is a up charge on the 3LT 1385+1495+1500 on top of the 3LT package price of 11950= 16330
Competition Seats in the C7 are my favourite Seats
Agreed!
Are the gt1 seats bigger than the gt2s?
Not bigger, no. Same size but less "performance" looking.
One other note, the 3LT is "unlocked." Buyers can option it in any color combo, like the clown car shown in this video.
Well as soon as I get my C 8 I will need more help, my TPW was 3-16-20 so maybe I will be one of the first ones built
That's awesome! Your even earlier than me!
That red would work much better with black, white or grey, for example. It also depends on the car, with some exceptions. For example a black Prius with a red velour interior? No. I can’t even bring myself to post what that makes me think.
🤣🤣 right?
Aloha, I did figure out how to LIKE on my TV, you just have to scroll to the left with the remote and click on ... More. Then you can choose a thumbs up. Aloha, Mark
Excellent! Thank you!
3LT 4 life
👍👍
Of course this is all subjective, but I just don't see it. Of course 3LT is a step up from 2LT. The question is, is that upgrade worth $5K? Not to me, not even close. Not even worth a thought, , , to me! The front end lift is an option to both, the 2LT and 3LT as far as I know. That will also be something I get. If that's included in 3LT, then I would be in on 3 LT. I still think the lift is an option.
As always, Justin, a well done video. Btw, did I miss who won the Slip-Pro kit?
Yes you did. I announced it about 2 weeks ago. It wasn't you, unfortunately! Next time, man!
My 3lt c8 has the carbon package and the stealth package which looks even better.
Is it really $3,155 more? Someone commented to you.
Elkhart Lake blue, is 10x times better than Rapid blue. Elkhart is my 2nd favorite color (red is always first!).
With blue interior or tan
The more I here about the options the less I like them. Don't like suede, don't need most of the stuff just something to break. Too bad they don't allow more individual options on the LT1 such as the video rearview mirror, heads up and or the better sound system. There are some early flaws many of these flaws are in the upgrades. In two years expect a lot of refinements including airflow to the motor, they might even reduce the amount of water that lands on the motor in the rain or during washing.
I'm a cheap guy so I'd buy 1lt lmao but for many people some think 2lt is the sweet spot
It is the sweet spot for sure, but man... That 3LT is NICE!
You get a ton for the money on a 2lt basically all major options. I couldn't do a 1lt.
@@HorsePowerObsessed it is really nice but for the resale vs the cost???
@@michaelm398 what’s the difference in resale? 3k more purchase price how much of a difference do you see in resale
Love that blue
I may be wrong, but I believe the reason you couldn't see the errant mirror reflections that your camera was picking up was because you were wearing polarized sunglasses at the time.
I thought that too but actually remove them off camera and it still wasn't as bad as the camera made it look.
That looks like alot of work, I just push and hold a button and get the true experience of the convertible in my 3LT C7 vert...lol...ok I put a car cover on it when its parked, does that count for yes I care?
So wait im confused I thought you could just push a button now and the top would come down
That's the convertible.
Ohhhhh ok so with both versions you can take the top off just one requires you to do it manually.
That's right.
1LT is the way to go. Most Bang for the Buck.
The only way i would buy that clunky fob blocker is if i could somehow push a button exposing the fob to start the car im not gonna take that thing out and take the fob out and😴
Don't forget your C7 Owners
Never!
Color combo is terrible and I can't see how the extra cost of the 3LT is worth it.
The quality of the leather and the extra attention to detail is worth it by itself but you also get the GT2 seats standard which are nicer looking (carbon fiber, etc) than the GT1. It comes down to personal preference, really.
Nice vid, thanks. I'm definitely not fond of that particular blue, red, black color combination. Too much.
Thank you!

Usually to get a top off, I just tell her she's really really pretty.😉
🤣🤣🤣
No dinner & a movie nowadays!
Nice, very Classy!!
My God, that color combo should be illegal 😯
Interior doesn't look like any race car I ever drove.
If they could deliver this blue 3LT with a red interior they could have built my 2LT blue with a adrenaline red interior only difference is the seats would be 1GT vented seats in all red!
You can upgrade seats to GT2 for $1495 (they come with Napa leather). Two tone adds $550,
Phil Salley I prefer vented, bolsters GT1 seats to GT2 seats.
@@superchief15 If you want to be upset by no cost to manufacturer options look at Porsche prices. Corvette prices make these look like a steal.
4:32 little red piece here just to show that extra performance aspect. What the heck does that have to do with the performance of the car......lol.
🤣🤣🤣 red always adds performance! 🤣
@@HorsePowerObsessed How? Are the red ones faster than any other color?
It's a joke, man. Everybody knows red is the fastest color... Again just a joke. 😁
But the GT2 seats are less comfortable than the GT1. Why would they do this in a premium package?
That’s not Emmy experience at all. I personally think they are feel about the same, competition included.
@@HorsePowerObsessedinteresting. Maybe it's just personal feel.
Interior should of been same as exterior blue with light blue accents
Allen Saunders That is one bizarre color combination
@@redstingraycorvette agreed, love the exterior color though!
Mike M Yeah that exterior is nice
Swear I saw blue interiors someone on UA-cam. What happened, I want a blue interior
To get the blue interior I have to go 3LT
Not a fan of the red interior, ordering mine with the sky cool grey, with Elkhart blue exterior
why do people car it f Alcantara that is a name brand of a company that makes micro fabric GM never said it was that they say it is micro-fabric if they call it by name then they could me sued if not using there name brand off brand are 1/2 the cost so i think GM is using that to save money well that is just me note:
Alcantara is the brand name of a common synthetic textile material. It has a soft, suede-like microfiber pile and is noted for its durability. Alcantara is commonly seen in automotive applications, as a substitute for leather and vinyl in vehicle interior trim
If you have the cash then theres nothing wrong with getting the 3lt over the 2lt. In this car you have to go at least a 2lt imo.
O luv the 3 LT level , it's All the WAY on TRIM Or No Way , especially on a New Model C8 , anything less Waste of time !
Seems to be largely vanity. It would not be worth my money. However, the convertible option would be a must.
Black diamond wheels are better than these aluminium design
Agreed!
That is one ugly color combination on that C8 Corvette . I would be pissed if somebody was going through my car!
That's why none of it happened until the owner gave permission. 👍👍
You don't speak for everyone. Those colors are nearly complementary to each other. Enough people like that combination.
ShinyBlackRims Number one I never said I spoke for everyone ,number 2 the gentleman asked for an opinion and I gave my opinion !
Seems irrelevant bc most of the things noted as a difference are just options that are available with both models. Carbon fiber interior is best example.
5k more for more leather options....
