Don't keep us waiting too long for the next installment. The story has some nice unexpected developments, and the "triple climax" to the film is absolutely amazing.

The other big stunt (other than the plane) was Tom Cruise holding his breathe underwater for 6 minutes! Dang!
That is insanely impressive. Tom Cruise doesn't cease to amaze me with the physical feats he does
IMO, The Syndicate is very much like Spectre from Bond. It's probably a tip of the hat from one franchise to the other. As for Ilsa (Rebecca Ferguson), she rocked. Excellent in "Doctor Sleep" (the sequel to "The Shining") as well.
In between reading about two of the most impressive actor stunts in movie history you drop the analogy that "watching someone cut veggies can be very scary". You have officially won the internet. LOL.
If you are looking for action/spy movies to watch after the MI series I can strongly recommend the Bourne Trilogy. It's my personal favorite spy series. Another one-off suggestion would be The Peacemaker (1997) starring George Clooney and Nicole Kidman.

Fun fact: Cruise made Guinness for longest breath hold by a principal actor in a film -- six minutes flat -- for this movie. The record didn't hold long though. Kate Winslet, who has smoked since she was 19, is on camera going 7:15 while filming the Avatar sequel.
Fun fact: Verowak said these things from her imdb trivia part. Your mission should you shoulse to accept it : Watch the entire video to the end. (I know I have done the same mistake you just did btw so not that big of a call out)
@@mahliz LOL, figures. Sorry, only 15-20% of viewers on YT make it to the end of 43-minutes videos. It can be as high as 30% on a good reaction channel, but most people miss Vero's trivia segment most of the time. AND, IMDB mentions nothing about Winslet taking that Guinness record in spite of being life-long smoker. I thought that was the most interesting part, otherwise I wouldn't have mentioned it -- tons of folks know about the records themselves.
In college I had to memorize literatim the poem "If" by Kipling shown on the screen when Ethan learns about the syndicate. Btw, Kipling was inspired by Leander Jameson, who led a failed coup d'état. The PM uses the poem for the Black Box ("Kipling"). I was angry after the syndicate killed beautiful Record Shop Girl 💔. Love your joy of movies (and editing), Verowak.🌷

Great reaction, like always this one is one of my favourites MI frachise they keep getting better and better and the airplane stunt that Cruise performed himself, without any stunt double or special effects like you said, and they had him suspended on the aircraft 5000 feet in the air at times. And to capture this scene, a wind-resistant custom frame for the camera was built and mounted onto the wing of the plane. Another problem was keeping Cruise's eyes open in the presence of hard air. So his eye specialist designed a special lens which could cover the entire eyeball. It took eight takes for the stunt to be filmed! This is the only Mission: Impossible film till date where the main villain is not killed off. Keep up the amazing work. You are gonna love the next one its EPIC.
I'm sure you've heard this before, but if you like Tom, Edge of Tomorrow is a belter.
Also I reckon Rain Man is one of his best performances.
Rogue Nation is arguably the best movie in the franchise. There are so many great and effective scenes. They could all become classics.
Ilsa Faust is possibly the greatest female character introduced in any spy movie. I actually grew to care about all of these characters more than ever in this movie. Its a shame that we lost Jeremy Renner as Brandt.
I will never understand the obsession with Fallout. Its a good movie but come on, people. Its so contrived and they totally waste Ilsa.
I agree with your rogue nation comment but not with your fallout comment. But the best ones are in no order 1,5,6. Fallout was the first proper "sequel" IMO. And I think they nailed it.
Fallout is amazing but I'll agree that Ilsa isn't as great as she is here. But she's still amazing.

Perfect capsulation - Mission Impossible movies are just fun. The returning cast is perfect ... the stunts, like the Bond films, or Jackie Chan movies, are a highlight, and the only variable really only seems to be the villains - Philip Seymour Hoffman to me is still the best, but this villain was pretty good.
The villains are frequently smart or fun, makes for great movies!

Fun fact, that gun that was disguised as an instrument was an alto flute. Most operatic orchestras do not have an alto flute part. Neat little mistake on the Syndicate's part if you know your classical music ^^

Try the James Bond movies. Like Mission Impossible better to start at or near the beginning. They were lo budget at first so try Goldfinger which made Bond a world wide hit. If you like it you can always go back to the first two later.
James Bond is a franchise that I want to tackle at some point for sure
BTW- Did you see that Cassie from Popcorn In Bed got to go to the Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning premiere and meet Tom Cruise and the director, after they saw her Fallout reaction. Maybe Mr. Cruise will see yours next... I'm a little jealous, I have to admit, since I've been watching these movies since day 1, in the theaters.

25:45 The look of the head of British Intelligence is almost certainly a nod to John Le Carre's George Smiley from classic spy stories like "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy". They're superb spy stories but very different to the Mission Impossible franchise!

I was 20 or 21 when the first movie came out, and it is still my favorite of the franchise for its slow pace and lack of gun fights, but this was the first I saw in theaters on my 45th birthday, and it was also a hell of a lot of fun. That plane scene in the opening made all of us really tense that night.
I think my one friend was a little too into Ilsa jumping onto people's shoulders and stabbing them in the head...
Watch the Bourne saga next. All 5 of them. Yes, I even like the Rener Bourne.

Well, if you want to see more action films after the _Mission: Impossible_ ones, no better time to get back to watching the _Die Hard_ sequels. Once you're done with that....well the James Bond, Jack Ryan, Rambo, Lethal Weapon, Beverly Hills Cop and Bad Boys series are just waiting for you.
Definitely going to be going back to Die Hard once I finish MI. Then I'll have to tackle the rest too :D

DR part 1 has some brilliant stunts and the new additions are great (though there is one poorly executed decision), but I agree it's def a step down.
