I made this, and I was genuinely shocked how good and accurate it tasted. After a day or two in the fridge, I couldn't taste the tofu at all, it just tasted like chicken. I'm super impressed, and I didn't even have to buy any extra ingredients to make it. Great recipe!
Edit: I highly recommend reheating in an airfryer, makes it even crispier.
That’s awesome to hear!! Super stoked you dug it!!
Do you think it's necessary to fry them twice? I feel like the pan frying step can be skipped if you marinade? Just seems like a lot of oil I dunno.
@@turnerturner3281 I'm honestly not sure, I did double-fry because I went with firm instead of extra firm and I was worried about it being too soft if I didn't. They firm up a lot in the fridge, though.
Can you make a vegan full English breakfast?
Yes, definitely sometime soon, this year for sure!
The crunch you’ve achieved makes my mouth water. 🤤
I love the idea with the gardein frozen strips. You're a genius. I did that with the fish filets when I wanted a tuna melt. I smashed it up and blended in some follow your heart cheese. It baked up so well.
...you can mush the gardein strips into a new shape? Oh my god. Oh my god ohmygodohmggod dude WHAT you can't just say these things casually like it's nothing, WHAT
He’s been doing this for a while. Just jet them defrost. It’s great.
I can’t remember which of the youtube vegan chefs I first saw do this but it melted my mind. might have been Burger Dude or possibly Edgy Veg, whoever it was they wrapped it around a popsicle stick and used it to make drumsticks. I tried it and it ruled
It’s a classic Burger Dude move. The man is a genius.
Oh hell yea! We still go there for the fries if on the road. They use separate fryers for fries and chicken carcasses.
That Canes sauce looks great. Another delicious looking meal.
Oh wow, I didn’t know that! I love their fries. Now I can get them again. Thanks!
@@beachvacay3184 I'd ask to be sure at your location.
But, this is a response from the big wigs from Cane's, "We do have separate fryers for our Chicken Fingers and Fries, but we cannot confirm that there is no cross contamination.
In addition, our Cane’s Sauce and sauces, coleslaw and Texas toast contain dairy.
If you do decide to visit any of our Restaurants, please ask for the Manager on Duty. Notify him or her of the dairy allergy, so that we may best accommodate you."
@@Gaming_Vegan_Ape I think that’s common, actually. They have separate fryers at McDonald’s. Or they did when I worked there in high school. I’ll definitely ask though.
@@beachvacay3184 It's just unfortunate McDonald's uses beef tallow in their fries 😭
Looks amazing! Salute! Congrats on the sponsorship too.. your channel is my fave on here by FAR! 🔥
I'm not even a vegetarian I just think his videos are cool

So glad we have your approval 🥴🥴

Those tenders look amazing, I love your recipes - they make it seem so easy and motivate me to cook more instead of getting frozen vegan stuff all the time.
Thanks! I love frozen stuff too, but these are worth it! I regret not freezing them and air frying in the video but you can totally do that! I should make a video for it eventually.
@@TheeBurgerDude , are you aware that freezing beans for a minimum of 21 days (32 is better) will eliminate gas? I discovered this quite by accident when a friend was frequently serving me 15-bean soup and I had zero gas. I am normally so gaseous that I could have eaten beans for lunch and immediately BLOWN myself across Baton Rouge on a skateboard, and I had no gas from her soup till a month later. She served me the same soup as always, but I became an H-bomb. I asked her what changed. At first she said, “Nothing!” Then she realized that she had been serving soup that had been in the freezer for months and what she served that day was fresh.
Working on the premise that some gaseous enzyme is destroyed by freezing, I have cooked my dried beans and frozen them for at least 21 days (preferably 32 days) before eating and it almost totally eliminated the gas. Now that we are vegan (for about 6 weeks now), that’s an important trick since beans figure largely in protein intake.
Oh my Gawd!! I was just wishing for a vegan version and here you are delivering! Thank you so so much. You're awesome and I tell my family you're a culinary magician.
Request for veganized Wienerschnitzel….am I the only one?
That browning and outlayer is beautiful! Great job!
You’ve been helping me pick what I’m making for dinner every night this week. This is definitely next 😋
Trying this ASAP! THANKS!
I actually made the tofu fish earlier this week,
thanks for the advice♡
This looks so good. The ingredients should be in the pantry.
This looks so bloody delicious and tasty! Everything you do does, I would love to have this meal! Delish!
Hey TBD…i just your cookbook…great recipes. Thank you :)
I used to work at canes but I was fired by a manager and his friend who also worked there who were sexually harassing and bullying me for being trans. I asked my store manager and corporate for help and they did absolutely nothing and allowed the harassment to continue.
The raising canes sauce recipe is:
Heinz mayo 10 parts
Heinz ketchup 10 parts
Heinz Worcestershire sauce 2 parts
Fine garlic powder .5 parts
Powdered black pepper 2 parts
MSG .5 parts
Mix well and let rest overnight in the fridge to let the flavors set up.
The Texas toast is cooked with garlic flavored margarine btw.
That’s awful, sorry that happened!!
Thank you for the recipe I’ll try it out!!
sue them asap
Peace to you. I hope you've found a respectful workplace! Thanks for posting some of Cane's trade secrets1
I'm sorry, hope you're healing stronger now! 🤍 🏳️⚧️ 🤍
I'm sorry that harrassment was directed at you. Hang in there.

Great recipe!
This looks so yummy! I’ve always wanted to make a Vegan alternative to the Canes chicken.
Made In is a fantastic sponsor for this channel, I love a good stainless steel pan and from what I understand they make some of the best
oh my god this looks so effing delicious
Can’t wait to try this.
I’m gonna use this batter recipe for everything. Looks legit.
I’ve never been to Cane’s but something tells me that I NEED to try this sauce. 😊
I attempted to make my own 2 days ago now you posted this lol funny
Thee Burger Dude another awesome recipe video and it will taste better than the non-vegan version.
Yum!! 💛 I have never had cane's as it wasn't around where i grew up, and I stopped eating meat relatively young. But this looks fabulous
Insane 😱 🔥 yum ..wish I could get this in a restaurant 😊 ..
Looks super good
I feel like I can never get mine quite as scraggly as yours, you've got that coating so perfect
You put flour into the milk mixture, what would happen if you put cornstarch in instead?
Yum!!!!❤
Does this mean we’re getting a Chik Fil A sauce & sandwich ala vegan?
yes!
Man, i love your videos. Most of my family are vegan so youre making gods work. Keep up the awesome content.
Yesss!!
thanks
glad you got a sponser :)
waiting on my ding dang tofu to thaw out to make these! it might end up being a recipe for tomorrow. which actually works in my favor cos i can get the sauce made tonight and let those flavors have an orgy in the fridge until tomorrow evening. thanks for a great recipe!
Did you end up making these? Do you freeze your tofu before marinating? Also am I wrong or does it seem like the first pan fry can be skipped? Seems like a lot of frying 🤷♂
Yum
Yum!
Great video, and also will can you please make the portobello burger thats basically just portobello
Thanks! Yes I’m gonna do that for summer!
@@TheeBurgerDude nice
Tofu is the best 👌
Could I use an airfryer? Would they come out goos still?
Tofu is definitely easy I’m just not crazy about the uniform spongy soft texture you get. Had some fantastic gardein supreme chickn nuggets the other day with hot sauce. Really good. Also their supreme “wings” with the included Buffalo sauce really good. Might be best yet.
I don’t get the spongy texture from super firm. Especially after marinating and grilling, try that out!
@@TheeBurgerDude should have said “relatively” spongy. Compared to the gardein stuff or even some seitan. It’s still good though.
Can you airfry or bake the fingers?
hi i love coleslaw but i have not tried rasing canes yet because it is not near me
12 minutes after release baybee
Nice timing on the stainless advertising as I literally just ordered a set from tramontina and am not looking forward to learning how to use them. But I gotta give up the toxic non stick stuff, it’s time.
Can you do a McChicken but Vegan and better.
If you don't object to store bought options, for me the best result is simply buying the crispy chicken patties from the vegetarian butcher that to my understanding are basically also used in the plant based burger king option for a long chicken here in Germany. No idea on the availability on where you live though...
Other than that, the vegan mayo from hellmann's is my favorote, salad as to your preference, and although it is not the traditional recipe, I like vegan brioche style buns getting available more and more here, if I want to indulge :)
Maybe helps you out :)
Yes, soon!
I notice the Raised and Rooted nuggets taste just like Mcdonalds
Damn that looks nice
A short boil in water on the tofu will allow it to soak up the marinade better
Another great video! Would you consider recreating KFCs honey butter chicken biscuit? Or if you know this restaurant, a Fuddruckers burger?
I've made the Whataburger biscuit, but I need to redo it! And yes to Fuddrucker's, that's happening sometime this year!
I love seeing this on my 4 year Veganniversary 🥳
😎👍🏼
Thanks for making your videos!🙏 they’re so creative and helpful
Congratulations on your 4 year vegan anniversary. I will be 8 years in June.
❤❤❤
👍
Not vegan but I genuinely like the taste of fried tofu, not like chicken but good
Just sayin'... Foosackly's. It's an Alabama thing. Get into it. 😅
Thee Burger Dude for president.

Why not try oyster mushrooms?
I have a recipe for that, but I don't use them very often because they are hard to find. They are either way too expensive at whole foods, or I have to drive 20 minutes to get them at the Asian Market. I just prefer tofu for the most part! But if you want to use oyster mushrooms you totally can!
@@TheeBurgerDude I wish oyster mushrooms were as ubiquitous as tofu or chicken:-/
:~)
👍🏻🌱😀
Question how would you know how the sauce is supposed to be like if you haven’t tasted it not trying to be mean
I tested out some of the more popular recipes online, so I'll have to take their word for it! The ingredients seem to be what I used, so it should be in the ballpark. Regardless, the sauce I made was super good!
VEGAN = BETTER
💚🖤
NOT a keeper, IMO. First, the texture was off-putting. If I try frying tofu again, it certainly won’t be marinated, nor will it be scored (tended to fall apart.) Love the flour/corn starch mixture, btw, but for my money I’ll wrap the tofu in paper towels and put a heavy pan on it to press out excess liquid, then cut/ season/ batter/ fry. Heck with shaping it. So it looks like little squares of chicken; so what? The dipping sauce was good after adjustments (adding Chinese 5-spice and lemon pepper.)
If somebody served me these scrips, I would run home hollering and call my maternal aunt, my only remaining grandfather, or my groupchat of friends for emotional support and recovery
Sounds like you need professional help, honestly.
Childish behaviour. It's just food, so maybe seek some help
Bahahaha dude calls for emotional support when looking at tofu? Sounds like he's got literally nothing to worry about
