    I’m going to try this for wedding ceremonies inside low lit churches. Sounds easier than using my current mirrorless and be constantly adjusting settings, switching lenses or worrying about the 30mm limit. I was using an older JVC but it was bad at low light.

    • @Ahm-Creative
      @Ahm-Creative  2 роки тому

      Yes, the DSLR and Mirrorless 30-minute limit can hurt you, especially in important wedding ceremonies. This isn't the best low-light camcorder, but definitely far from bad.

    Excellent, buddy, thank you very much. The low-light cityscape footage is selling me. Your home interior footage at various times of day was very helpful as well. If you're still addressing this thread, could you please discuss a GoPro 9's convenience of size & quick capture for a travel movie, vs the Canon for the same purpose? The GP doesn't do low-light very well (and the Canon does), but what other features would you consider in choosing either the convenience of the GP for walking & shooting in all conditions vs the Canon HF G50? Thanks again.

    Wow...This is amazing low light footage coming from a 1/2.3" sensor. I am torn between upgrading to a Mirrorless camera for video vs a camcorder. I currently have a decade old Vixia HF21, and I think it is time for an upgrade. I think Vixia HF-G50 would be a great option to upgrade. Thank you for posting this video. This camcorder gives me everything I wanted without being a full on cinema camera...I could not be happier. I prefer camcorders to DSLR (or mirrorless) because I like my camera to perform one function, instead of hybrid functions, and this G50 does everything I need. Maybe a wider lens adaptor in the distant future, but for now, I love it and I think you would too.

      @@Ahm-Creative Mirrorless would probably someday replace camcorders, but it isn't quite there yet. Especially 30 min limit is annoying when you have to shoot a concert or conference. I am also contemplating on Canon SL-2. It could cost far less since I already have a slew of EOS lenses. But nothing beats the convenience of a camcorder.

      Hard to say without knowing what it looks like outside during game time, but I would suggest using the auto picture settings, as well as image stabilization. There's also a built in polarizer that could help even out the lighting, if the sun is really high up and bright during game time.
      I don't use them, but most cameras have a Sports setting in the auto menu, so that might be an option for you to consider as well.

    Glad I came across this video yes I know its over a year old. You be surprised how many videos there is of this camera but nobody shots any video from it, Just unbox it and go over the features. Thats fine but I want to see it in action than decide if I want it or notm why I like this video because you shot stuff with it to show what it can do. Since wanting to break into the youtube game, trying to find the right camera that is on a budget. But I'm leaning to this camera as the kind of long term investment without over the top spending. The videos you shot look sharp. I know my house is low light in the evens with lights on even. This shows it does well but clearly I know I need some lights to really film but good to know its still not going to be grandy in some cases. Ive looked at so many camera from camcorder to DSLR which is the popular thing these days. But just not a fan of the whole 30 min and cuts off on most DSLR/ Mirrorless have. Because I know I will have situations where its going to be longer than 30 mins and I want the camera to not have to try and stop someone in mid thought to it record again. Why I learning to a Camcorder that the only limits is memory card space or Battery life.

    • @Ahm-Creative
      @Ahm-Creative  3 роки тому

      I'm really glad you liked my video, and I, like you, didn't want to use a DSLR for filming. My DSLR is strictly for my photography, which is why I wanted a camcorder.
      And yes, many people only show unboxing and features with a little filming.....I wanted to show everything this camcorder could record, especially in low light, and I think it did great on the Vegas strip, even with the ISO/ Gain setting at it's lowest.

    I'm looking to purchase a camcorder for my podcast and been researching for weeks. Narrowed it down to 4 and was hoping to get some advice on a final decision. I narrowed it down to the Sony FDR-AX53, Panasonic HC-VXF1, Canon HF-G50 and Canon HF-G60. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    • @Ahm-Creative
      @Ahm-Creative  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Linop412. I haven't tried the Sony or Canon G60, but I did have the Panasonic VXf1 and returned it for the G50.
      I just didn't like the colors of the Panasonic for some reason. I still have my Panasonic VX-870K, but the VXF1 didn't seem the same to me.
      As for the G50/60, I've never used the G60, but the only major difference I can see between the two is the recording speeds in 4K. Otherwise, the G50 still seems to be the more popular camera and I have not had an ounce of trouble with it.
      It has been perfect for me.
      Aside from UA-cam videos, I use my G50 for product videos, and it has yet to let me down.
      I'm sure I'll have this camera for YEARS to come, and I think you'd be happy with it too, unless you need the faster 4K recording speeds of the G60.
      Otherwise, this is a safe bet.

    2nd question different video, have you tried to do a depth of field with the camera. I believe it will do it. I was looking for a video on the subject. I would like to do some personal interviews and I like the blur around the subject. I'm using almost the identical set up as you.

    • @Ahm-Creative
      @Ahm-Creative  4 роки тому +1

      Unfortunately, the G50 sensor is different than that of a DSLR. The way camcorders are designed, they keep most everything in frame, in focus. So even though I record wide open at f/1.8, it is hard to get a blurred background because of my proximity to my wall. If you focus on something close, you will get the background blur, but because the G50 lens isn't that wide, you will likely not fit into the frame being so close.
      So while it is capable, you won't get the results we see from DSLR video shooters.

      @@Ahm-Creative Ok, good to know. I'm still researching camcorders and what the best possible choice for work and play. I'm perplexed with a decision still on weather to go with camcorder or Mirrorless camera. I'm looking at possibly choosing between Sony ax53, Sony ax43 canon G50, but also the Sony a6100. I'm wanting to make sure I can buy two of what ever cameras I do purchase for two camera setup. I've been debating within myself for about two months now. Lol. Maybe in just trying to be picky.

      @@JustinLetandre absolutely nothing wrong with being picky. I'd rather be picky than have buyers remorse.

    How did you mount the camcorder on your car dashboard?

    • @Ahm-Creative
      @Ahm-Creative  4 роки тому

      Lol I actually just had it sitting there on a towel, to help absorb some of the vibrations.
      If I accelerated, stopped or turned hard, I'd reach up and hold it, but otherwise, it just sat there.
      It's risky, but if you're careful, you'll be ok.

      Pretty decent. The roughest terrain I've used it on is driving the strip, but it's served me well there. All highway bumps are absorbed.

      I honestly cannot remember, but it was either the Shure SM7B or the Shure SM58....but I'm leaning more towards the SM7B.

    Does it have infrared night vision? Because under specification at Best Buy it states that it does.

    • @Ahm-Creative

      Unfortunately, it does not. I tried every mode in 4K and 1080P, but there's just a night mode, scene mode, fireworks mode and low light.... but no infrared.
