Basically it uses labyrinth wall shadow for spell and trap fodder, then grabs it back using diabelle. Since it's a soft opt you'll be able to get any of the two material gate guardian fusions out with the second activation (usually wind and water for the spell and trap negation) It is one of the decks of all time
Ah yes engine that can set monster to s/t, summon itself if send from s/t zone, get search or summon from hand after it summon, possibly chain block. C tier
Witchcrafter White Wood is also not to bad. The interaction between Whitewoods and vice madam means you are basically guaranteed to get at least a pop and either another spell in hand or body on the field and access to the big Witchcrafters gets easier too. You also discard spells that get returned to you in the end phase of your turn for more ammo and discarding white woods spells for your witchcrafter effects is also a viable option. Unfortunately deck space gets very tied so you don't get any real non engine slots while having to cut down on cards in the engines and ash, veiler, imperm and shifter absolutely destroy you.
I've been playing around with White Woods Mannadium (with a small Magustus package) and it's pretty neat. Nowhere near a top tier threat but a lot of potential IMO.
I do play a small dogmatika engine in my runick and a version where I play only white woods dogmatika, when you get access to both your tuners every turn you get so many bodies very fast
I play 2 nadir as spells are valuable, one ecclesia for the searches, she can special herself as a lv 4 extender and Fleur is basically another veiler or a lv 8 extender. For extra I play one more garura for draws so I get more runicks and a malong for non destruction removal + he's a lv 6 synchro tuner so he is also an extender with diabellz
on centurion, I add spell/traps on auxila if I'm short on cost for white wood, or send Trudea as a trap card after I use her eff(this won't trigger asteria's gy eff though)
Something I like with the centurion variant is that opening asteria + cent engine allows you to discard asteria then revive her by sending the field spell with gargoyle (then readding it with diabell), bypassing the need to ns her similarly to the runick variant. Also thrust goes wild in white woods, setting any engine s/t on first turn while being retrievable from GY at any point
Dogmatika Ritual for an OTK build or just running Maximus and Winda for turn 1 plays is fine too.. You can run duality as well.. Duality plus white woods combo always gets you a dragoon and winda... You can even revive Winda with the new sinful spoils card.
with the reveal of the newer White Woods cards, particularly the one quickplay spell that is a negate+revive, I wonder how well a Chimera White Wood deck would play?
Could definitely run a Shaddoll variant with Cartesias since she has so much synergy with White Woods, and having El Shaddoll Fusion can also be a nice way to stop Asteria from getting Veilered or Impermd, doesn’t stop every hand trap but it’s better than nothing
I've really been enjoying adventure engine white woods. Turn one card into three spells to send for cost + an omni to play through Nibiru. Priestess is also a spellcaster for Legend in a pinch. The major downside is you can't activate Asteria's effect if she was normalled. You have to wait until she revives herself which can be done using barricadeborg blocker or even negated Rcia if all else fails. Unfortunately, this means you're more vulnerable to Bystials / Crow / Belle if your opponent knows what's up. Also you can't really get to the adventure engine easily without hard drawing into it. Thrust into Rite, send Rite for cost, get it back with Diabell is very funny though. You also have access to good draw power like Chicken Game and Magicians' Souls to try and get to it. If you can't get to it then you probably have the pure combo in hand anyway. Of course, not legal in OCG since they don't have Gryphon but when it comes to TCG it may be worth a shot. Uninterrupted end board is Token + Diabell + Selene + Rank 4 + Gryphon + Woes. Token can be used for quick synchro once Gryphon has been used, and the rank 4 can be other things like Amritara + Reframing depending on your priorities. ~4-5 interrupts depending but can be much better at playing through handtraps if you're expecting a lot of Nib/Ash and less Bystials/Droll. Also access to Omnis like Gryphon and Reframing seem really important in TCG now that Baronne is gone. I'm not a super experienced player so I could be underrating or overrating this by a decent amount, interested to hear others' thoughts.
At the moment you really need your normal summon for asteria, its the only starter you can consistently and card efficiently use unfortunately. Having to commit to barricadeborg if you open adventurer basically renders the advantages of the engine moot, and adventure as a whole just has unfortunate levels for white woods.
There is some archetypes idk even exist and others I know about but nothing about them in particular. I didn’t know white woods existed until this vid, but I’m intrigued by the art.

Just commenting to say that ive been working on a WW paleo list for awhile and it does work well doesnt seem anyone but me plays or tries it tho so i recommend it
Fiendsmith??? You can place the link monsters on field as spells and being able to 1 card Beatrice into dump Asteria into rotation is pretty good all things considered. You can also mix the millennium and fiendsmith engines together. Overall I think that's the best version.
The main issue with the fiendsmith engine is that it's pretty winmore since the engine doesnt get you into anything on its own and doesnt do anything at all if you get interrupted. It also takes up too much of the already limited extra deck space. Imo mixing multiple engines together with white woods is generally a bad idea since no matter how much gas you have, you'll still get stuck if your normal summon gets interrupted since asteria isn't a tuner and you just don't have the room to run generic links.
@@razer72260 Yeah but that still requires something to trigger the rez (which is 2 more cards minimum since only risette does it unless you want to commit into barricadeborg), and even then you lose out on the crucial extra level 2. Definitely has merit though, especially if they get more in engine ways to trigger asteria.
@@TheGorogorogoro you totally can do fit in the extra too. That's generally the problem with all the engines with being able to play through interruptions like if imsety gets ashed then what? Heck 1 card Caesar could also maybe fit too. But I highly disagree about it being a win more engine. If anything it's going to bait interactions because of being able to bring out so many bodies at once without committing at all to the normal summon. Plus any lv 4 tuner possibly represents a chaos angel line
The purpose of the Horus engine is consistency and ensuring your combo goes through in the first place. Imsety getting ashed is fine since it clears ash for asteria, and if they don't ash it you get effectively a one card photon lord which clears it anyway. You do bring out a lot of extra bodies with other engines but the deck is still hard choked by the number of tuners at any point, so none of the bodies being represented are actually that threatening. Good to see different opinions though, discussion is always good. Definitely concede that it should at least have been on the list.
what hand traps can any of the variants play through, I've been trying to figure it out but unfortunately the only ways really are through crystal wing which is hard to summon early enough for that to matter
