- Not all Finasteride is the same. In-fact, virtually no two brand of Finasteride (brand name Propecia) are alike. The side effects and efficacy that you experience can vary between brands. So what kind of Finasteride are you taking? I hope it's of the best quality you can find.

The last thing I want to do with any of my videos on hair is to convince someone that they should have surgery. I want to educate people and stop people who might otherwise have surgery from having a surgery they will regret. I also want to empower people who are struggling with hair loss to to make a positive step and take control of their hair loss whether that's with the best preventative treatments available, concealers, scalp micro pigmentation, hair systems, shaving their head, or if they are the right kind of candidate and financially able then hair transplant. Having a realistic hair plan in terms of the preventative hair loss treatments you will use and stick to, the type of surgery you choose to start with, and your goals looks wise will lead to a much higher chance of successful result. Hopefully this video will help set you on a healthy path.
If you're struggling with hair loss and considering transplant surgery I highly suggest you call my friend Steve Cook. He can help you find the best hair solution to suit your needs, and give you a list of the best available options. Steve is a great wealth of information , and he's the most knowledgable and honest person I've met in the hair restoration business.

Why is Adam Levin and Sam Smith talking about hair loss?
😂😂😂😂
I havent heard them talking about it..
It was most interesting speaking with you David, I've really enjoyed our collaboration 😁
Same here man, let’s catch up again soon 😁
What do you think about companies like hims and where they get their finasteride from
I am taking Thai branded Finasteride (Siam Bioscience) and I have wondered about it's efficacy but Thai pharmaceuticals tend to be good so I'll stick with it for now. I actually learned about problems cutting pills vs taking the whole pill from Killian.
I don't think it matters that much tbh. Thing is, even if the active compound is not of the same strength, Finasteride's efficacy scales *extremely poorly* with dosage. Taking 1.25mg or 0.75mg is functionally the same.
This, coupled with the long half-life of the drug, means the effect will average out in the end anyway.
I take brand Proscar (split into quarters) since having my tranpslant two months ago. Beforehand, I was taking an Indian generic for two years that brought me from a thinning NW3 to thick NW2 in about seven months. The transplant of about 1200 grafts will put me in NW1 territory.
I don't dispute the fact that the variability from manufacturer to manufacturer exists to a measurable degree, I question how relevant that is in regards to a drug as forgiving as Finasteride.
All fair points. The fact that I’ve talked to both hair transplant surgeons who themselves are particular about which brand finasteride they are taking and Killian is also particular about it and he writes papers on pharmaceuticals for a living though makes me want to be more careful as well. I also have personal friends that have taken certain brands of cheap finasteride and had side effects from it, and then switched to other brands and not had side effects. Obviously that is only me
listening to stories (but at least firsthand ones). Our bodies and the way they react to things are quite different. At least for me at this point I’d like to make sure I’m giving myself the highest quality shot 😁. Not to say you can’t also get some excellent results sometimes on super cheap finasteride from India. Obviously you are proof you can 😁
@@GetLocklab Right on! I should clarify I was mainly targeting other dudes that (like I did once before) can start to freak out and over-analyze every part of their efforts to fight hairloss. Which can in turn *worsen* it through stress, ironically.
One should totally aim for higher quality providers, and the vehicle for the pill *can* induce side effect unrelated to the active ingredient. This is a good argument for being more selective with any pharmaceutical for sure!
I'm in Pakistan and I've been wondering the same thing, the local generic finastride cost less then 2 $ a month but I'm skeptical of whether it works or not

I’m currently taking Costco fin ascend but imm switch to Walmart. USA.
Don't do it.
Do you guys think keeps is a good source?
Meh. You can get the same stuff alot cheaper from your doctor
If you take 1 mg of finasteride or any other drug no matter the brand the active ingredient is still the same that’s not the shape of the drug or some (inactive) ingredients that’s gonna change anything guys a chair is a chair no matter the brand or the shape of it or even the price in the end it’ll be the same thing putting the bottom on it 🥱
You have a lot to learn. Read up on pharmaceutical manufacturing before you make such stupid comments. The shape of a pill definitely changes efficacy. Do your own research.
@@PatrickFDolanSo the guys that are splitting their Propecia or Proscar pills up into four, do you think that is causing significant changes to the way the drug is metabolized, thus affecting efficacy?
@@PatrickFDolan according to the video, it is changed, but by how much? Enough to cause significant changes? I think that is up for debate.
Bro please do let me the brand the one your using
Use Propecica by Merck. Much better than the best generic. I know from experience.
give me the link of his channel plzzz David

this is true,
i was on good drug given by the hair loss clinic for a year, (expensive, but good results).
then i lost all my hair gains for 2 years by taking cheap online drug.
started clinic drug and hair loss stopped.
Have fin but havent taken it yet. The mental/neurological side effects scare me
I’ve experienced those side effects. Not everyone does, though it’s real.
@@stevewise1656 Did yours get better?
@@user-wv5gv3dw5u actually, only determined today this was the issue after watching vids from doctors and guys taking it. I’m sure once it’s out of my system my chemicals will rebound back to normal. It’s not worth me possibly maintaining my hair, though feeling this way around my wife and kids. It’s sudden onset depression. Doctors only talk about sexual side effects and not depression and anxiety.
Take it three times a week and relax
im the most clear headed and focused person ive ever been since taking fin
Took 3 pills of generic Fin 1MG every other day - experienced dizzyness, lightheadedness and fatigue. Took a week to feel normal again. Never again.
If you felt it within days then it’s mostly in your head. Fin takes more than a few days to build up in your system to noticeable level..
Thats triple the recommended dose, of course you felt crappy.
Nocebo
@@thehylander266 This isn't true. Fin's half life is like 6 hours.
@@thehylander266 Not true. Some people crashed hard from 1 pill.
The build up thing is bs.
Some of us are just more sensible to DHT blockers
If you live in America the generics are basically the same, in other countries I wouldn't trust it tho
Why that? Do you think only America has quality control chart? Come back to earth
@@sicilienz that's right, have fun on Pluto
Kevin Mann says generics should be fine in FDA regulated US pharmacies.
@@illimattic and you think in Europe they don't have a type of FDA ? XD
@@sicilienz I'm sure they do. I wouldn't trust the 3rd world countries tho.
Am with Belgravia centre they are the best
Happy to hear you're doing well :)
Want to take finasteride so bad. Just recently got a 2 month supply but haven’t had the guts to take it yet. I’m 20 year old.
Do it 3 times a week, that's it
What are you waiting for?
Bro, get the f*ck of the Internet and just take the pill and live your life. Its not that deep, trust me
@@johns8819 word 😎
Just don’t take it and go for HT/
I just got done with finasteride with keeps, now I'm taking from Roman. I got a 6 month prescription from them for free. After that, I'm going to take finasteride from blinkhealth as it's the cheapest there. The reason I'm jumping though is I just want to take advantage of their promo offer and then go with the cheapest one long term. I'm hoping the consistency of these medications are all standardized since all are coming from US pharmacies. But I did see this video before from the hair chemist.
fin is poison
