  • Not all Finasteride is the same. In-fact, virtually no two brand of Finasteride (brand name Propecia) are alike. The side effects and efficacy that you experience can vary between brands. So what kind of Finasteride are you taking? I hope it's of the best quality you can find.

The last thing I want to do with any of my videos on hair is to convince someone that they should have surgery. I want to educate people and stop people who might otherwise have surgery from having a surgery they will regret. I also want to empower people who are struggling with hair loss to to make a positive step and take control of their hair loss whether that's with the best preventative treatments available, concealers, scalp micro pigmentation, hair systems, shaving their head, or if they are the right kind of candidate and financially able then hair transplant. Having a realistic hair plan in terms of the preventative hair loss treatments you will use and stick to, the type of surgery you choose to start with, and your goals looks wise will lead to a much higher chance of successful result. Hopefully this video will help set you on a healthy path.
If you're struggling with hair loss and considering transplant surgery I highly suggest you call my friend Steve Cook. He can help you find the best hair solution to suit your needs, and give you a list of the best available options. Steve is a great wealth of information , and he's the most knowledgable and honest person I've met in the hair restoration business.

I am taking Thai branded Finasteride (Siam Bioscience) and I have wondered about it's efficacy but Thai pharmaceuticals tend to be good so I'll stick with it for now. I actually learned about problems cutting pills vs taking the whole pill from Killian.

  • @mwjgcreeves4984

I don't think it matters that much tbh. Thing is, even if the active compound is not of the same strength, Finasteride's efficacy scales *extremely poorly* with dosage. Taking 1.25mg or 0.75mg is functionally the same.
This, coupled with the long half-life of the drug, means the effect will average out in the end anyway.
I take brand Proscar (split into quarters) since having my tranpslant two months ago. Beforehand, I was taking an Indian generic for two years that brought me from a thinning NW3 to thick NW2 in about seven months. The transplant of about 1200 grafts will put me in NW1 territory.
I don't dispute the fact that the variability from manufacturer to manufacturer exists to a measurable degree, I question how relevant that is in regards to a drug as forgiving as Finasteride.

All fair points. The fact that I’ve talked to both hair transplant surgeons who themselves are particular about which brand finasteride they are taking and Killian is also particular about it and he writes papers on pharmaceuticals for a living though makes me want to be more careful as well. I also have personal friends that have taken certain brands of cheap finasteride and had side effects from it, and then switched to other brands and not had side effects. Obviously that is only me
listening to stories (but at least firsthand ones). Our bodies and the way they react to things are quite different. At least for me at this point I’d like to make sure I’m giving myself the highest quality shot 😁. Not to say you can’t also get some excellent results sometimes on super cheap finasteride from India. Obviously you are proof you can 😁

@@GetLocklab Right on! I should clarify I was mainly targeting other dudes that (like I did once before) can start to freak out and over-analyze every part of their efforts to fight hairloss. Which can in turn *worsen* it through stress, ironically.
One should totally aim for higher quality providers, and the vehicle for the pill *can* induce side effect unrelated to the active ingredient. This is a good argument for being more selective with any pharmaceutical for sure!

If you take 1 mg of finasteride or any other drug no matter the brand the active ingredient is still the same that’s not the shape of the drug or some (inactive) ingredients that’s gonna change anything guys a chair is a chair no matter the brand or the shape of it or even the price in the end it’ll be the same thing putting the bottom on it 🥱

I just got done with finasteride with keeps, now I'm taking from Roman. I got a 6 month prescription from them for free. After that, I'm going to take finasteride from blinkhealth as it's the cheapest there. The reason I'm jumping though is I just want to take advantage of their promo offer and then go with the cheapest one long term. I'm hoping the consistency of these medications are all standardized since all are coming from US pharmacies. But I did see this video before from the hair chemist.
