    0.7 mg per day is not a "sub-therapeutic dose". The dose-response curve of finasteride is logarithmic, meaning that large differences in doses correlate with realtively small differences in DHT inhibition.
    And that's why many people take 0.25 - 0.5 mg daily or even every other day and still see results. The 1 mg cutoff point is fairly arbitrary. That just happens to be the chosen standard dose of finasteride for treating androgenic allopecia, but it's not as if anything less than 1 mg is no konger effective.
    If there is any difference in efficacy between brands, it is because of other factors than the amount of finasteride in each tablet. Maybe certain other agents in the pills determine how effectively the drug is absorbed, but even then, I'm not aure there would be enough difference to produce significantly different results given the logarithmic dose-response curve.
    There would have to be very different absorption rates between different brands to be significant.

      So what that means is you can take generics more consistently while name brand you might want to lower the dose

      Taking finasteride will combat hair loss. The low concentration won't deliver homerun results, but they are better than nothing.

    Is generic more likely to give side effects?

    • @forhair
      @forhair  8 місяців тому +2

      If you are one of the 3.8% who get side effect from Finasteride (propecia) then more likely you will get it from both generic and name brand, if you want less risk of side effects we will advise topical finasteride which is more expensive then the two mentioned. this video meant to indicate that name brand (Propecia) is better in quality and hair growth.

      @@forhair all of a sudden during sex with new very cute GF. Everything went flat. Luckily I recovered..it did damage my educate pressure. Some people never recovered, some people killed themselves they were so sick. I just seen a picture of a young man who was suffering badly. @@forhair I have spoken to hundreds of people that are very damaged. Even people from topical Finastride, even topical minoxidil foam. Any anti androgen drug, natural or lab made can affect men negatively.
      As long as patients have looked into post finastride syndrome (so they know what's the worse that would happen) then your practice is honest and transparent.

      Been on it for years. Have a couple of friends also using. No issues from any of us. Prescribing doctor said he has not personally known of any cases of any permanent side effects. Not saying no one has any sides but I believe there may be some underlying and/or psychosomatic related issues that come into the equation.

    Can you actually link a reference from FDA where it says 70% equivalence? I think you should probably read up on it some more, I recommend Andrade C. Bioequivalence of generic drugs: a simple explanation for a US Food and Drug Administration requirement. J Clin Psychiatry. 2015;76(6):e742-e744. doi:10.4088/JCP.15f10094

      you should check further. it's why we saw so many drug failures on people responded to propecia, but stoped responding to generic drugs. companies looking to cut corners are not going to make a product of equal quality

      @@jellohcon You should have just replied "No, I can't give you a reference to the 70% being the law" cause you obviously can't.
