    1. Start with the basics: pushups, pullups, and dips. For people with training experience, do the basics with the FULL range of motion. 2. Work on a really, really strong core. Don't train for a 6pk, train for a super strong core. 3. Work on flexibility and mobility. Great mobility is essential. See the video for specific exercises and reps.

So much truth in this. Basics, mobility&flexibility, injury prevention. For me, calisthenics was a lot harder than anything I did in the gym and it can be a bit intimidating in the beginning. But I used a lot of regressions (I still do to work on specific things) and just stuck with it. For me, the gym was too low in intensity and not challenging enough on the mind. I don't just want to look good but actually be my best.

Hello guys. I`m 184 cm and 95-98 kg currently, I used to do Fitness/Bodybuilding/Strong man and reached 112 kg 6 years ago. I`m old now and 41. But is this too high body weight to begin his? I remember being 16/20 years old and taking 25 chin-ups no problem. But its harder now. Should I try to lose down to 90 kg or? My Ideal body weight is 86-92 kg. But its properly still too heavy. I`d had many injuries in Rotator cuffs/Deltoids/Pec tear/ hands broken many times from Shaolin + Hernia from raw leg press. Should I start somewhere? I would really like to master this perfection. I use to be top athletic when younger. The best in ranks mostly. Maybe my size is just too much. I really love your videos. But I can never even loose down to 78 kg again. If I don't eat for 6 days I just lose 2 kg. I'm very solid now. It's not going away. Under 86 is impossible. I got long arms. Long legs. short torso/trunk. Are 88 kg and 184 cm too big to begin this? What should I master before starting up seriously? When I was 22 years/76 kg I could bench 150 kg. When 110 kg I could raw leg press over 600 kg. Hails from Viking in Denmark.

Its the mixture of Blond Viking blood from Denmark/Jutland mixed up with blond Frisian blood. Wallon types of darker stock sometimes contribute to this height as well. The flatland of Both Denmark and Holland creates Giants. Sweden and Norway cant even follow this up. They look somewhat 186-188 cm atleast to me? But its hard to see with no comparison.

I am starting with your five minute core routine. I do it everyday and I love it. I added glute bridge hold to it because it strengthens the glutes and hamstrings which are really weak lower body muscles. I also use resistance bands. I am not going to touch another dumbbell or barbell. Once I get strong at calisthenics and bands, I will use weights again. I am starting with core strengthening first because your core practically stabilizes your whole body. I was talking to a guy who did nothing but core for a whole month and he said that he went from zero to fifty pull-ups, literally. I don’t think he was using the best form, but at least he wasn’t doing the CrossFit pull-up.

The video is great, however I have a different POV regarding weight training vs bodyweight training, sometimes your bodyweight is more than the weight you can actually carry so you start weight training with less weight untill you can support training with your own bodyweight.
So I think if you're not able to start with bodyweight exercises you can start with weigh training even with muscle isolation as a start

I (15,F) have always been a very active person. My dad would always make me go hiking, running, swimming, cycling and I used to do this for like 6 years. I was a really fit child, I could easily do 15 push-ups and like 70 sit-ups, I could run long distances, sprint and bike steep hills. I joined a basketball team, improved quickly and was soon put in a team with older girls, improving, it was the peak of my athleticism.
And then covid happened. We were in isolation for a few months, I quit everything, took the same amount of calories I used to eat when I was active. And obviously, I gained weight. I'm not overweight, but I'm not really happy with my health and physical appearance and I would like to change that.
I discovered calisthenics a while back and I found it so amusing. Now I wanna start doing calisthenics 2-3 times a week, with cardio workouts in between. And imma do it, I'm motivated, I just gotta get started.
I don't know why I wrote this, but I guess I just wanted to sort my thoughts out.

I am 75 yo totally out of shape fat fuck. Decided to start. I can plank for 10-15 sec. Also, only 1-3 pushups. I put in a quality pull up bar but cannot do even 1 pull up. So, I have to start with walking, lunges, squats, and maybe some burpees. Not much but a start and that is enough through the end of 2021. Thank you for an inspiring vid.

I also had the minds to start calisthenics as well. However we are doing calisthenics and weight training to get the body or strength we need. Then going back to your tip of knowing the basics, I must suggest for those of you who are overweight or not done any sports before to start running. Even walking progressing to run is important to starting calisthenics or weight training as well. Running has a foundations to build core strength, endurance, and stamina we need to exercise. Knowing how to run is the important and I learned that in transitioning my strength training to which I can perform basic movement training like a MMA fighter Connor Mcgregor. Keeping your posture straight, breathing in and out using your nose and mouth, also using a jump rope momentum. Its simple to build a cardio vascular strength to aid your strength training. Then performing the basics of planks, push ups, squats, and rows/pull ups.

Cardio is indeed an important aspect of calisthenics. Without cardio or a proper diet you wont be able to get the aesthetic fysique you are looking for.

Pull ups are a lot harder then push ups especially for women. I am not a woman so it's hard for me to say how you should improve but for me just doing shoulder, back and biceps exercises helped me increase the number and weight of my pull ups so I didn't even practice pull ups to get better at them.

I've been interested in getting into calisthenics for a couple of years now, but in the UK it's very rare to find out much about it. I found a PT back in December 2021 who teaches it here in London. I've only been doing it around 8 weeks and I'm now getting stronger. I got fed up with years in the gym and getting injured last year, which caused me to not want to lift weights any longer. It was pretty boring too to be honest. Anyway, I'm giving myself 8 months to a year just to master the basics. Thanks so much for your videos and I'll see you further down the road when I'm stronger and fitter, and doing a good muscle-up 🤗

Dont worry bro just do your negatives and australian pull ups, you will eventually get there.. focus on form and try to keep ur rep range between 10-15 to make sure u trigger hypertrophy. For example if u know how to do 1 or 2 pull ups do them and then do negatives or australian pull ups to get to at least 10 reps...

@@diogofarinha295 Thats 40 push ups nose to ground with chest max 5 centimeters (2 inches) above ground.
I think im able to do more dips, but our dips routine at the gym is often 6, 10 sec break, 4, 10 sec break, 2.
And then we do 3 sets of that.
I don't really keep track of my max amount of dips in 1 set... this was just an estimate.

So now I am doing the basics like you said, and the funny thing is, I don’t feel anything in my core yet, my core is fine because I already trained it. But my arms are just like chicken wings 😅 they are so weak, so that’s what I’m focussing on now. I wish I had a place outside where I could do the leg raises and dips. I love in the Netherlands and how absolutely no idea where I could find a place like that
