The fact that Steve improvised an entire 45 minute show is amazing. And not only that, but the audience was more engaged than any show I've ever been to.
I was going to point out a particularly clever joke, but they just kept coming, and the audience was just that. See how much fun you can have when you don't take yourselves seriously? It used to be a thing... The dreaded front rows of gigs... as you KNEW you'd be targeted at some point... the hecklers who are too stupid, and/or drunk, to realise where they are... and they're JOKES, and when to shut up.... they're not ANTIFA lol. They come from a camp, full of people who have rights, which they do, but they don't include ruining a show for people who paid to see it. I had such a giggle through this one... the woman's reply, regarding qhats in his cloud... SHE was quick.. that was the one I tried pointing out. Well done all.
Indeed. His ability to riff and then make fun of himself along with the audience is masterful. I'd prefer a show like this to one that stayed on the rails, to be honest.
I really enjoy improv for this reason, it takes way quicker thinking and is more organic than a canned routine. I like his bits, and specials, but it's the moment when the 4th wall stops existing that his stuff goes up a notch.
True. Plus, her fits of laughter are so well-placed, timing-wise speaking, they even add to the overall humor in the room a little. Gives it a little nudge. Never heard anybody laughing like that, ever 😂
In the past, there’s usually been an abrasive edge to Hofstetter comedy. This show allowed us to see the softer side of Steve. There was so much positive energy, in part because the crowd LOVED Steve, and they weren’t stupid drunk. It was amazing to see how Steve is cleverly able to weave together an improvised comedy show when he’s so exhausted.
I mean, “in the past” he’s posted videos of him destroying hecklers. If you think someone destroying a heckler is “abrasive”, then maybe you should be spending your time and money watching the idiots that were heckling him? Or watching other comics that don’t respond to hecklers? Or other comics that have ridiculous responses to hecklers? I bet you’re the kind of guy that thinks Michael Richards got a raw deal and was treated unfairly after justly-responding to an “abrasive” audience member
@@joshh535 but like, he IS being abrasive when he confronts hecklers. Thats just... an accurate description my dude, its not an insult or a bad thing.

45 minutes of ad libbed comedy, bouncing off multiple audience members' suggestions, and keeping it absolutely hilarious... You, sir, are amazing! Thank you for bringing so much laughter to the world

That's got to count for something, especially since the emoji for hugging is so lame: 🤗 Oh wow, I looked up the emoji at emojipedia instead of hunting it down on my old phone, and I found out there's a new, more obvious hug since 2020! A. Wow, did the old one ever need replacing if they've already got a new one, and B. Wow, is my phone old, since I have no way to get that update!
Glorious to see a stand up comedy show where the audience has so much fun being the show. A true testament to both the audience and the person on stage 'handling' said audience.
This was fantastic! I clicked on the video without seeing how long it was and was expecting a clip. Then, the "Clip" kept playing and I looked at the length. Size really does matter because I laughed for almost 45 minutes straight. Thank you, good sir, for such an unexpected delight.
That was the best set that I’ve seen being performed off the cuff since early Robin Williams. You are very different types of comics, but the way that you worked with the crowd and maintained presence on stage the whole time was just spectacular!
My overall comment is that you are one of the few stand-up comedians able to switch performance mid-way, while being jet lagged, and still have a WONDERFUL improv show. Kudos. I giggled at every single "squeak" tho (that woman was fan tas tic!). Enjoyed it very much. Can't wait to see you around in person. Bordeaux ?! 😉

What an absolute joy! The hecklers were humble enough to take the ensuing punishment, but clever enough to hit back with intelligent discourse. Hofstetter is a brilliant comedian. Hands down, the best I've ever seen (sadly, never live.) This was very welcome on this rainy day.
Lost it when they changed jackets. I really had to laugh at so many things in this show. I once had Delta lose my luggage and then it arrived at my hotel the next morning, it was completely shredded. Some of the clothes were salvageable, but the bag was toast. I didn't have a car so I had to walk a ways to a place to buy a new one, but I did get one with wheels, so it was an upgrade. My first Taco Bell was when I was a small kid and we lived not far from Sacramento in Davis. I always ordered the Enchirito. It was a big deal because my parents did not have much money and Taco Bell was one of the few places we ate out. Finally, I was very excited to buy myself a Nissan truck about two years after I started working after college. I took that truck camping and on many trips all across the country. I still have it 31 years later.

Organic food guy, Intel, Taco Bell, Red Lobster, Cloud - you're all like friends now. But the Doulphin girl - you're the best. Without you this stand up miracle wouldn't have happened. Sincere thanks from the bottom of my heart! Keep cool! Hugs to all thanks to whom it happened!
That was my favorite set I've seen you do in a long time. Can't wait until you're in my area again and I can go to a show.
This is awesome. You're the man, Steve.
Dude this has been the best stand-up ever seen. The misfortune with your bags that wonderful jacket the squeaky voice and the chick from Red lobster dude you can't write this it beautiful
What a fantastic show! Dolphin lady was so awesome! She carried you bro. Damn that was beautiful. I haven't laughed so much in 45 minutes in my life!
