dude, this is probably one of the most well-written comedy bits I have ever seen. What a masterclass in comedic writing, use of audience and setting. I don't know if you'll ever get the recognition you deserve, but this absolutely is among the greats.

greatness is rarely recognized in its time. you listen (seemingly exclusively) to pop music, what could you possibly know about media that isn't crammed into your mind? or maybe its that maga hat, restricting blood flow to your brain?

My son gets annoyed at family gatherings, because it's the same questions and comments every time.
Both short guys and tall women suffer from the societal expectation that a guy should always be taller than the woman that he is dating.

Love this! On the Bathroom subject, my response is always "If you are in the bathroom with someone and you know what the genitals of the other person look like, you are doing it wrong."
Yup, like in all of my years, I've seen genitals twice in bathrooms.
One time in the Marines when I was a urinalysis checker for the day and we had to "watch the stream exit and go into the cup" (not that anyone really did this, but we had to be in the position to see it), and then once at work when a guy at the urinal had a medical condition and collapsed and it couldn't be helped, but also in a medical situation last thing I cared about. (fortunately he's fine now).
It seems that some people think that guys just go around sword fighting and helicopter spinning in the restrooms.
Thank you for defending trans rights and debunking a lot of the fox news and facebook myths. My roommate and favorite person in the world is trans and feels defeated by the world so its nice to see that someone at least takes the time to explain the ignorance of the negative biases

He puts his specials on UA-cam because he has control of the product and it makes better business sense. You can find his previous one in his videos. I highly recommend it, though be prepared to get a bit teary eyed in the middle.

@@richardalmeida2646It's confusing, I know, but I think he announced the special here on his YT channel and probably had it up first on his Patreon for a bit before uploading it onto his YT channel. He can't give us everything for free straight away. I mean, he ultimately does, but it's uploaded to his paying fans first. I'm not positive that's what happened, but it would make sense.
I am sort of new to Steve's comedy... I've been following him for about a year and a half. That being said I've listened and watched almost everything he's uploaded on UA-cam and this is not just his best stand-up special but one of the best specials I've ever heard. Keep up the good work Steve💙 u da man💙.

I know I just found out about this comedian today, and the first thing that popped up was the hecklers not Hacklers, and then went and actually was able to see this video and see him actually complete his gig and very impressive
That hockey joke was exquisite! I now have everyone in the bank staring at me because I involuntarily said "Holy **** Hofstetter" out loud.

Long time fan here, had to take a moment to pause and let you know how much I love you and your comedy. The story at the beginning about seeing someone else grow before you was really beautiful. The fact that you share such deep, personal moments is one of the things that makes your comedy so compelling!

Easily one of the best comedy specials I have seen recently! It is so unique to see a comedy special that is truly thought-provoking, honest and impactful whilst still being funny. Steve, I admire your stage presence and ability to make jokes about personal beliefs, yet somehow makes me feel comfortable voicing my views even if they are opposing. It is refreshing to find a public figure who shares my stance that you can have differing opinions, and still be respectful of one another.
For example, if asked, I would advise against having surgery that would dramatically remove a future life path unless necessary, such as removing reproductive organs and eliminating the possibility of reproducing, until your brain (particularly the frontal lobe) is fully developed, +-26 years old, but ultimately, that would only be my advice, and to be quite honest, as long as you are not harming others, I don't really care what you do with your body.
You are one in a million. Writing, timing, audience work... bravo... bravo!

The entire context and story you tell about "you" throughout the special is incredibly powerful, and resonates hard in myself. Thank you for putting into words something I feel but cannot quite find the words to say myself.

Steve, this was awesome! (No surprise there!) Sometimes, I watch your stuff and just let the jokes roll over me. Other times, I find myself getting caught up in the craft of building a series of jokes into a bit, and then bit after bit into an entire show. More and more, I'm enjoying seeing how you create a show, how what seems like stream of consciousness is really all completely designed. And I love it! It's kinda lame to announce that you "get" another person - far better when they say that you get them - but I feel like I really get your humor and your thought process in general. It's a pleasure to see you work! It really is!

I guess I shouldn't have said lost a hero, those were Steve's words, bc he was never a hero of mine, he's 1 of the funniest people on the planet, top 3 easy, but as they say never meet your hero's, or in my case I wouldn't really care either way. There are some short privileges. When i last bought a pedal bike, it was about 40% of the cost of the adult bike of the exact same one.
😂 Slyly putting in, it was a child's bike. I can get things from the bottom shelves that tall people have a problem getting to. I have lots of leg room on planes. I can sleep comfortably on an love seat. I do have a hard time finding shoes though.

This one was really good. Have been feeling a little rough about how life is going recently, but this brightened my outlook a little.

I'll be honest Steve. I found you several years ago when I came across a bunch of hecklers being put in their place. Then I found some of your actual material and loved it. I thought you were an excellent comic with great material and perfect delivery. Even now, I still think your delivery is great. I still think you're a fantastic comedian.
As for your material, here's my take. While I fundamentally but respectfully disagree with some of it, if I remove both of us and our beliefs and judge only the material by itself, I think most of it is good material and for the right crowd, it's genuinely funny. Furthermore, I appreciate that you acknowledge some of the flaws on the left, specifically how many of them deal with things, get easily offended, etc. As a conservative myself, I know many people who would be greatly offended by this set, or at least would judge you as a person rather than strictly judging your comedy. Personally I'm not offended because I understand a few things. First, it's comedy. It's subjective and not all comedy is for every comedy fan. Second, while your material reflects your opinions and perspective on things, it's not the entirety of who you are. I happen to know that you're a kind person, one who cares about others even if they disagree. I know that you understand that having a different opinion or perspective doesn't make another person a bad person (for the most part, anyway). Third, I understand that nothing is personal. You're not out to get anyone, you're telling jokes. They jacked to be divisive because they're mostly political, but that has always been the case. No political joke has ever been agreed upon as funny by everyone.
So to summarize, while I'm what I call right of center, conservative but not extreme, and you clearly are on the left, and we disagree on many things, I still respect you as a comedian and even more as a fellow man. Reading some of these comments I can clearly see this set hit some nerves. The best comedy usually does. While I can't honestly say I enjoyed all the material, I can honestly say you're still a great comedian. I just hope more people can see that disagreement doesn't have to equal or lead to hate. It doesn't have to be a negative thing even. As big as your following is, I really hope you see this comment. I want you to know not everyone who disagrees work you is a jerk about it. Not everyone on the right is bad, any more than everyone on the left is bad. And if you want to know more specifically what I disagree with, I'm happy to have a respectful conversation. But I don't think it's necessary for this comment because the entire purpose of this comment is to simply show that I can separate comedy from reality, and comedy from comedian. Your comedy is one part of you, not your entire identity. 🙂💙
