Calling all zucchini noodle fans! Check out my video for three ways to make zucchini noodles without a spiralizer. *RECIPES:* www.justataste.com/2015/06/video-make-zucchini-noodles-recipe/ #video #recipe #zucchini #zucchininoodles #summer #healthy #healthyeating #healthyfood
This is so helpful, I tried to find videos where people would show you how to spiralize without a spiralizer and the videos I found prior to this only just talked about the peeler method but didn't show how to do it. so thank you so much for your video, it's awesome.
Had zucchini noodles for the first time this weekend and they were great! Had a very similar consistency to angel hair pasta and they tasted delicious with the red sauce. Going to get a spiralizer and do these at home.
@@kenziealta yep, same happened here...Very dangerous not to use the food pusher thing. Thank God my finger-tip grew back too but not quite the same. :-/
Oh my goodness thank you so much for all the wonderful ideas! I wanted to make my cashew fettuccine sauce but I wanted to use a big zucchini that my aunt gave me from her garden instead of pasta. I can’t wait to try this.
I did the the box grater method. Although it works, a lot of the noodles were too short. It was also pretty time consuming.(took me an hour) I also tried to use the peeler but if yours isn't sharp enough it's really hard to get a thick enough cut.
I use a julienne / peeler device, and it works pretty well. I end up slicing up the flat nub that's left over at the "bottom," and that works out okay. When you consider the time to clean up fancy tools, it probably doesn't take much longer. The fancy tools turn out to be more of a hassle for me to pull out, set up and clean. I guess if I had loads of stuff to process (have a food processor I never use, which has a spiralizer attachment) for multiple meals or multiple people, it might be worthwhile to use such tools.
I need to buy a gizmo that I can use as I run thru the grater to protect my fingernails..I have a slice into my thumb nail from the blade of a spiralizer that I borrowed yesterday..So happy it did not go clear thru the nail. I like your ideas. I sauteed my noodles and it was fun. and delish

@@kaycon4823 THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH. I have a madllen which I Loved till I cut the tip of my finger when I was washing it. It been 10 months since that trip to the ER and it still hurts. Thank You for the intelligent suggestion. I will be buy a pair.
Very nice and professional presentation. In order to lose some weight I am trying the Paleo diet. So far so good but I really miss spaghetti. Pasta and rice[and cheese!] were a big part of my diet so I hope the zucchini noodle will pass muster.
all are knuckle busters if you don't have something to hold the vegetable. I noticed she did not show the whole process for each type. Suddenly there was a large pile of vegatables for each method.
she didn't show how your zucchini noodle recipe goes from vegan to savory scrumptious meaty as the last 1/4'' of the zucchini includes portions of her fingers and hands.
@@annakakorin3124 She's saying it's really dangerous to use the mandolin without the meat-pusher "thingy". Many have posted under her video saying they have had trips to the ER from slicing off their finger tips when they didn't use that protection! :(
@@tparbs no offense, but its literally common sense to use that protector so you dont hurt yourself...unless its child making these noodles, its not really necessary to mention such thing. im sorry but what kind of dumb ass adult doesnt think of using some kind of protection when handling mandoline?? like...its sad and hilarious at the same time.
Spirolizers are under $30 and as low as $20 on sale. It's well worth the money for what it does. I use a Spirooli and it takes less than a minute per veg. It's esp good for carrots.
I was so excited to make zucchini noodles and started using my vegetable slicer, until I realized that I was slicing a cucumber not a zucchini
😂😂😂😂😂
Hahahaha
lmaoooo
😂😂😂😂
But that is GREAT ♡♡♡ For a healthy Salad .
This is really helpful, I really wanted to make zucchini noodles but didn’t have a spiralizer, now my problems solved. 😄
Hahaha mine too
it's great when you don't need to buy another kitchen gadget.....these methods work just fine.....thank you
Saved me an unnecessary appliance purchase. I hate clutter, thank you!

+Kelly Senyei thanks for the good ideas :D
my name is Kelly and thank you
Kelly Senyei why not cut them vertically before using the peeler? Makes it easier.

OMG! Always, ALWAYS use the food pusher thingy so you don't slice open your hand! Mandoline slicers can be VERY dangerous if used improperly.
Whit Boss Yup. Leaned that the hard way in October! Luckily the tip of my finger grew back but it was painful and expensive with the ER trip!
@@kenziealta yep, same happened here...Very dangerous not to use the food pusher thing. Thank God my finger-tip grew back too but not quite the same. :-/
this is true, but the food pusher thingy can't hold the zucchini, I have tried.
Whit Boss I think you have to take a chunk out of a finger before you can totally appreciate your comment. I shrieked when she didn’t use the gripper.
At least she still won't need a spiralizer 😂

Thank you so so much! I was just about a spiralizer when I already have all those three pieces of equipment at home! You saved me a lot of trouble!
Thanks Kelly great tips! Love it

Whoa! Didn't use a guard with the mandolin and didn't warn that you can get nasty cuts that way.
Thank you for sharing :)
Thanks. I'm going to try with the mandoline
Thanks very much
Thanks sooo much
Thankue kelly
Thank you
I have been resisting buying a spiralizer JUST for zucchini. This is very helpful. And less expensive 🙋🏽♂️🤑
It is more expensive with the time and trip to the ER. I have gotten cut washing that gagett.
Haha..This is what I'm looking for right now..thanks

i know it's been 4 years but, you can make cauliflower a rice substitue
Cool ❤

Exactly
I used a method similar to the first one she showed here (was coming to see if there was a better way). Time consuming, but not that bad
useful video thanks
Man I remember getting a spiralizer on an impulse buy once- it sucked SO HARD. I never used it and eventually got rid of it. This is way easier.
Nice!
Thanks Kelly
can u plz tell which brand of mandoline u- r using for the zuccine ?
I love you, you saved my day and earned a new sub.
i would definitely have used the vegetable holder to make the 'noodles'...Especially as you are making a 'how to' video...
Thank you. Problem Solved :-)
Kelly, do you know what brand of mandolin you are using in this video? I'm looking for a good one.
Bravo, this video was awesome. The chick isn't annoying, the points are exact . The director did a great job.
Thank
Thank you. Want to play around with this before buy a better spiralizer.

Hi, is it possible to use the same method to slice carrots & paprika/bell peppers as well??
pat raj yes you can any veggie

I cant wait to make myself some keto pasta fuckkkkkk gonna be awesome
Isn't a mandoline more expensive than a spiralizer though? You can get a handheld spiralizer for $6 on amazon and ebay.
Thank you, not related at all, but what hairstyle is this called? Not vague like 'layered'
She reminds me of Natalie from studio c. I think it's the voice
