- Here's a lucky catch of the Missouri Pacific Heritage unit UP1982 leading the hottest train on the I5 Corridor. Also known as the Shasta route but this section is much farther North of Mt. Shasta.
This video is between Tunnel 3 on Pengra Pass near Willamette Pass, and Junction City Oregon covering about a 100 mile stretch of railroad.
I captured everything I wanted except I wasn't able to fly at my signature cliff locations between tunnels 11 and 12 due to fog. Man I hate the fog!
These scenes were filmed with the professional DJI Inspire 2 drone and the DJI Osmo Action.

Eagerly awaiting your videos and you always excel
Thanks so very much
In your first shot, the snow covered trees have the tint of the Missouri Pacific color scheme, love that!!
That's why their called Blue Spruce.
Love this one very much. Might want to model this. Thanks for sharing.
The MoPac unit still looks great. The shots from the ground are great, we can hear the big beasts' sound nicely. I see the second rear DPU is an AC4460, that's one of my favourites. I love UP and the locomotives here are very cool. Another fantastic video Dan, thank you for the entertainment. :)
Thanks so much!
Brilliant worn Dan. Nice catch!
Another beautiful film Dan. I loved especially your selection for the score in the opening scenes. Nice match up . James. FFV.
Thanks!
Ya did it again Dan, great video!!!!!!
Excellent, thanks for all the place-names
Great work. I enjoyed the ground level shots with those 4000+ HP locomotives flying past.
Great video. Can't wait for more.
Another great video Dan! You went from Tunnel 3 on Pengra Pass and the snow in the mountains to the green fields of the valley near Junction City, Oregon. Beautiful scenery all the way along the tracks. I liked the ground level shots of the train passing your location and the sounds of the engines. I usually try to see if I can see where you might be controlling the drone as you are following a train but most of the time I cannot see where you are. Sometimes I see a vehicle in an unusual spot at a crossing and I presume that is where you set up to control the drone. I am amazed at how you control the drone when it appears that you are no where near where the drone is flying. Thank you for sharing this wonderful video with us. P.S. Check the unit number in the first sentence of the description of the video. You transposed the second and third numbers of the unit number.
Thanks for pointing out that mistake! Fixed now. Yes it sure changes landscapes pretty drastically in 100 miles. Going to try and do more shots from the ground like this from now on. It really does add another dynamic when you can hear the sounds of the train and I like to have that too.
Love it! The Eagle flys and lands, Great Job!!!
Still baffles me how you stay ahead for these trains?
You must have a game plan layed out, with the route your going to take?
With all the things that can happen along your route though, the speed of the train, plus set up time, it has to be very challenging?
Very Good Production, Thank You, Dan. 💯👍
Yep I'm always constantly researching locations and how long travel times are between them to know which spots I can make it to to be able to fly at.
Another good one Dan.
Nice Work 👍👍
Amazing!
SUPER
Great seeing you add some ground level video, not that your flying isn't good alone.
I really like to use ground footage too. It does add a whole other dynamic being able to get real sound. I'm hoping to do it like this from here on out.
yupee just parks loaded trains
out in the middle of nowhere
without power?
Nope there are locomotives there. It started moving out of the siding as soon as this guy was by.
What train is this? ZLCTM or IBRLC?
