18:43 ? The ND system on the C70 has 10 stops instead of seven on the FX6. That comes in clutch if you’re shooting wide open in direct sun. Something you can’t do on the FX6(I’m a Sony shooter btw).
Totally agree on the logic of pairing the FX6 with the Sony FE PZ 28-135mm f4 G lens. Loving it. Even if its a bit bulky, the ergonomics are just excellent.
Red is only for film , so while your waiting for Hollywood to call you can actually make money with the FX 6 shooting pretty much anything. Also Reds use only Red accessories and they are expensive. The FX 6 is a great commercial camera as well as a great film camera, It is extremely versatile and well worth the price. I wish the lenses were a little;e cheaper as that is the one accessory I prefer Sony.
question, so it looks like right now the FX6 is about $6,000. can you tell me about the estimate cost of the other needed gear - mics, mounts, lenses that one would need to buy in addition to operate this camera? not the extra things, but just the other things that is necessary. would it be an additional $3K - $5K? Thanks
Sony doesn't pair the 28-135 f/4 lens with the FX6 because of it's weight. The FX9, (and FS7M2), have a stronger locking e-mount on the camera. I use an 18-110 f/4 on my FS5M2 with a rail system to support the lens. I intend to do the same when I purchase the FX6 and 28-135 f/4.
@@MuonVideo The locking mount on the FX9 and the FS7M2 is strong enough to hold the heavier lens. The e-mount on the FX6 is potentially problematic with heavier lenses. The Sony rep told me that a heavy lens on the FX6, such as the 28-135 f/4, is fine if it's on a tripod, but if you're running and gunning and hand held it's best to use a rail system to support the lens, thus taking weight off the e-mount. If an e-mount breaks, there is no replacing it. That said, many people have said they use heavy lenses on the FX6, FS7 and FS5's with no problem. As for me, I chose to play it safe with my FS5M2's and use a rail system. It's easy enough to mount and gives me peace of mind.
Agree completely my friend 😉 our fx6 combo with the old 28-135 f4 is great 👍🏻 what for an external monitor you prefer for the FX6? Best cinematic greetings from germany
I have a Canon C70 and AR struggling with the form factor..I'm more of an ENG type shooter. I'm considering getting an fx6. But the colors still don't look as sweet as Canon. I've read that the FX6 has bridged the gap? To my eyes it still looks very Sony. Sorry if some are rolling their eyes but it's a fact Canon just looks more organic. Mmm tough decision.
I actually did the opposite, sold my FX6 and bought the RED Komodo. After nearly a year with the FX6 I was just not happy with the image, it always looked too clean, too much like video. The FX3 and A7SIII however have a much more organic filmic look to them. So I bought the FX3 and a Komodo. One other reason is that I mainly do TV commercials, and for Ad Agencies they only know two buzz words, Red or Arri.
This is interesting, as I find the A7S III to suffer from too much in-camera sharpening, and noise reduction. Although I have circumvented the sharpening with a Black Mist Pro filter.

Wow. Cameras keep moving forward so quickly. Great review.
They do indeed

Agreed! The weight distribution feels fine with the lens and camera combination.

Nice info. I went with the A1 and the FX6 loves the pairing of the two. Great work keep it up
Thank-you, yes the A1 and FX6 would be an ideal pairing. Considering selling my A7S3 down the road for the A1.
Can you please make video for camera settings on fx6 keep doing the good work amazing i Suscribe

I wouldn't spend that much. For a mic ($115-600) , and a zoom lens (24-105 is $1300; 28-135 PZ is $2500) you're looking at around $2-3K additional.
I have one FS5 and I love It, hope to upgrade soon!
sick shirt my guy

Yes, I have run into trouble as well with the lens locking mount.

Im putting the 18-110 pz on my fx30
@@MarinFournier Nice. I'm using the 28-135 pz on the FX3 and of course mount to a tripod by the lens collar.

Always good to hear from you brother! The Ninja V with SDI attachment works best generally. Along with an FXLion battery on the back for power.
@@MuonVideo thanks a lot 🙏 I finished at the Christmas days my carporn 👌 with some fx6 shots 😂 Happy New Year

Shoot in slog3 and slap on phantom LUT and it looks like arri Alexa.
The fx3 has literally same sensor /image as the fx6
Just want to say thank you for the footage. It's not easy to find good footage from that camera.
they did the lens that way to make you spend more money
