    So you overthink... a lot.
You overthink what you said, how you said it, what they're thinking about what you said or how you said it, what you should have said instead, maybe even the person you should be instead.
It feels bad when you leave a social situation or interaction because of all the rumination, self-doubt and self-criticism that goes through your brain immediately. It also makes it so you feel anxious going into most social situations because you're afraid of coming across the wrong way, or looking awkward or uncomfortable and you don't know what to do.
So, here's what you can do.
    1. You can start to notice what types of situations or interactions cause you to overthink the most, and then get curious about why it happens in those situations and with those people.
    2. Learn these 5 Cognitive Therapy Skills to Stop Overthinking Everything taught in this talk to learn how intervene in your brain when you're starting to overthink, and redirect your brain to more healthy, helpful and productive thoughts.

I've actually been told on and off that I do overthink. The first time was a few years back and it happened today in a text conversation. So what I'm finding helpful is how this amuses me a little.

I do overthink often sometimes to the extreme. Just knowing I'm not the only one who shares or have shared this trait. Maybe or maybe not to the extreme that I do or have done.

Reminds me of a quote I saw years ago -- something like this "Be who you are, say what you feel because those who matter don't mind and those who mind, don't matter'.

I listen to Julia several mornings a week, my day, my week, steadied because of her understanding. I then track down to read the Comments and have come to the realization of how alike we really all are, (poor grammer).
To use a familiar quote a"Big shout out for Julia".
Where ever we are, with Julia's Knowledge we will keep on keeping on!

What is funny about this behaviour is not exactly is that it is like a kind of 'narcissism' that isn't, it is a sort of paranoia - AS IF I AM SO IMPORTANT THAT PEOPLE WOULD BE THINKING ALL THIS HARD ABOUT MY BEHAVIOUR? And because it is paranoia - there are other interpretations on how we were perceived - and the comedic part - were we or our behaviour remembered at all! It is tragi-comedic daftness. Smashing video ; )

A very fascinating video, this brings back painful memories which i have been enduring. My relationship of 5 years ended 3 months ago. The love of my life decided to leave me, I really love her so much I can’t stop thinking about her, I’ve tried my very best to get her back in my life, but to no avail, I’m frustrated, I don’t see my life with anyone else. I’ve done my best to get rid of the thoughts of her, but I can’t, I don’t know why I’m saying this here, I really miss her and just can’t stop thinking about her

I have just so much of yesterday overthinking my own mistakes yesterday and how it showed up. To them, they saw it as a chance for everyone to grow, but I saw a failure of worthiness. It was only later that I saw they still valued me and that everyone slips in some way shape or form. Thank you for making content that keeps reminding me that it’s ok to be human.

Reminds me of the saying "you are responsible for how you show up. You are not responsible for how someone interprets you." Live our authentic selves and make mistakes. If someone has a problem with you, let them take responsibility by engaging in conversation about the issue. Otherwise, let it go. Also, I see what you are doing with the thumbnail. I don't think you look awkward with your hands in front of your eyes 😃

Thanks, Julia Kristina, M.A. Psych for today’s UA-cam video,
5 Cognitive Therapy Skills to Stop Overthinking Everything.
This is something that I have made some improvement but still have much to do to overcome my overthinking. Lol Even today, when I wasn’t sure about something in today’s video, and I needed clarification...I started to think...maybe I am overthinking about this LOL Haha. However, my brain has been so tired, and I have been under a lot of stress lately. Lol
Overall, I have noticed I don’t nearly ruminate on things like I used to.
I love that you brought up your periscope days because that is when I first started to follow you on social media - almost 8 years now! I would have never known you struggled because you always came off confident to me.
    Here are my notes:
*Overthinking: Constantly thinking about something for too long.
*Overthinking can come from social anxiety.
*High Self-Monitorer - Someone who monitors themselves highly. Replaying and picking up things you are doing wrong and judging yourself.
*Overthinking can be a repeating cycle and self-fulfilling prophecy.
Why do we do this? (The 5 Cognitive Therapy Skills are identifying the distortions in our thoughts):
    1.Emotional reasoning.
2.When we go to awfulizing thoughts.
3.When we put on skepticals (Julia's term for magnifying glasses - being skeptics)
    4.Catastrophizing thoughts.
5.We do this also when we are not being our authentic selves.

Hey Julia. Just stumbled onto your channel. I have a friend who is always so negative & seems to always be in a bad mood. Her husband is the same way, so maybe they rub off on each other? Her husband had a health scare last year & she hasn't been the same ever since. I think she should think about putting him in a nursing home. As it's only her that's able to take care of him. She worries about him constantly. Even if she comes over to my house for a couple of hours. We're neighbors but also friends. How or should I bring up her possibly putting him in a nursing home? I just dont know how much longer she can physically & mentally take care of him. I don't know if I should start distancing myself from her too.Every timee Ihang outt with he, she has nothing positive to really say & only talks about her problems. It's exhausting sometimes having to deal with that. I feel drained sometimes after hanging out with her. Any suggestions? I don't want to drop her aa a friend as I feel like now more than ever she needs one. Thank you so much for your time.
