  • During the mighty Budget Bike Battle road-trip extravaganza, we stopped by to sample Triumph's new Speed Triple RS at the launch and both busted some knee skids. Here's some dual vlog action from Almeria. Thanks to www.camsam.co.uk/ and Kingdom Creative for holding the cameras...

Quickly 44Teeth is becoming the number one place for official reviews. You guys are killing it across the board. Another great one guys.

CLUTCH1st I think it's telling that these guys have 5 times the number of views MCn does for the same review.

That's because 44 teeth are the dogs danglies 😉. Good bunch of lads dicking about riding bikes doing what we love! There's no bullshit with them and we the fans love and appreciate it!

They are not saying the same exact thing that many other review channel says, it is like most of them watches MCN and then leaves the exact same review. These guys are out riding the bike and say what they are thinking without copying all the others which is a plus.

The whole point of getting a Speed Triple is to be a bit of a dick on the road. It's THE weapon of choice of hooligan dickheads the world over.

Another great video. Particularly when both you guys get on camera at the same time, it outs much bigger production telly stuff to shame. Probably because whole channel arose from genuine passion. Top work boys, got me excited to fit the new tyres and bring out the R1

So great job on this review and great dynamic between Chris and Al. I love the Speed Triple. Such a great bike with amazing mid corner stability. Make a noob rider look great!! I say this because the 2013 Speed Triple SE is my first motorcycle and made me feel comfortable and made me feel like a super star in typical Triumph Motorcycle fashion! Please keep up the content as you two are my inspiration and makes me enjoy and enhance my motovlogging and push me to do better with my channel. Thanks

I purchased a new Speed Triple R for £10.5k back in 2015; fast forward 3 years and it’s now £3k more 😳 Ouch.
As a result of PCP, bike prices are getting silly. For the vast majority of us, it’s a weekend toy and one that will get tucked away for 5 months during the winter, while we’re still paying finance on it.
At least with PCP on a car, you can drive it all year round.

I say if you can't afford it then don't buy it. Finance I mean that is.
Plenty of bikes on the market for a better price.

High time BVG straddled a Triumph. Great review, Chaps. Funny how that bike has evolved from being the first factory street fighter to being a ground-up naked design. Bucking trends and delivering through the generations. Triple Nipple!

@@sphinxsway I'm in the same boat. Have you decided?

    • @weemankyle
      @weemankyle 5 років тому

@Oddjob6120 wow thank you for the detailed response. The issue I'm having with my decision is which one will I enjoy more (I'm sure I'd be totally happy with either of them) the street seems like such a light nimble B road monster with lots of character and a nice top end but will I really be carving twisties all the time? This would become my new daily bike, so commuting and weekend fun. I'm concerned that the added mass of the speed would make it a bit more difficult to flick back and forth on the tight corners however my main road and highway time I'm sure I'll appreciate the added power and not having to drop gears to get it to go is one of the main reasons I wanted a naked in the first place. Of course there the factor of few extra grand on the price tag, so if the handling is similar and i won't really notice much of a difference in cornering ability then I'm basically paying for the extra power. That's what you did and you seem totally happy with forking out the extra. I have a friend who just picked up a 2019 street R and hes bringing it over this weekend for me to test out. Now if I can just find a way to demo a speed then that's a sure fire way to know

You guys have this format on lock, you deliver meaningful information wrapped up in a well filmed packaged. Regarding Triumph, they are on a roll. Like you said, balanced is the best way to describe their new bikes. I ordered a brand new 765 RS and every time I ride that bike I'm impressed with what a great job the Triumph engineers did. I got the Matte paint version and that is probably my only regret, the paint does not hold up well like the Matte paints from Mercedes or BMW.

Speed Triple is still a solid all-rounder. Delivers throughout the entire rev range and is a more useable bike for this old man than the 160+HP hyper-focused super nakeds. Quickshifter/Blipper should be standard on the RS though. I'd take that over the carbon fiber bits. Nice review as always, chaps!

With the quick shifter plus fitting costs, the price of the Speed RS is around £13600. The KTM SDR is £14300. The finance for the extra £700 will be negligible to anyone getting one of these bikes. So the question is: which one would you buy?
Oh, and will you be doing a road test? Race tracks are all very well but what's it like in real life?
