    I have the same bike, though, a 2019 with 23,000 miles. I have owned it since new (July 2018). I completely agree with everything you say here. It's a lifetime bike. It's just "right" without lacking anything or being too much of anything. I sincerely enjoy the bike.

    I prefer the 1050 speed to the 1200. I believe they made the new version to track focused. The 1050 is the better option as a road bike.

      Many thanks for the kind comment. Like many of your subscribers who comment I appreciate the no-nonsense reviews you do which are minus the hyperbole that many reviewers seem to think is what the audience want (maybe they do, but I don't).I also enjoy the fact you are quite happy to review 125cc bikes etc. Add in the fact I regularly travel to Bournemouth/Poole/Brock and your reviews generally leave me feeling quite 'at home'.

    I bought my RS in 2021 after watching your first review of the bike and I've loved every minute of owning it. I've got the yellow one and even though I don't get out on it as much as I'd like due to weather and other commitments I can sit for ages just ogling it in my garage - it's a thing of beauty. I agree with all you've said in both your reviews. My previous bike was a 1999 Trident 900 which I bought new and had for 22 years and I was sad to part with it and never thought I would bond so much with the RS but I have done. When I first got it after 22 years ont he big lump of the Trident it felt like riding a mini bike with an awesome amount of power but that's more or less worn off though t does feel small. light and powerful. I'm 5 11 and about 90kg and for me the bike feels a lttle uncomfortable compared to the Trident but for a few hours hooning around it's fine. Thanks for your reviews mate.

    So Triumph had a perfectly clear and easy to read rev counter on their dashboard screen in 2018 but then somehow contrived to make a right mess of it with the current-generation Street Triple 765 RS in 2023. Go figure!

    I agree with most of what you said, I've recently gotten rid of my 2019 S3 1050 RS, my only gripe was dealer support, that hard azz seat (butt numb) after riding one hour, the keyless start and the electronics, I couldn't edit or change modes and the bike only had 7000miles on it so I believe that once the electronics start to go, the bike will be a money pit.

    Hi Mark,
    Hope you've had a nice Christmas.
    Congratulations on 16 million views.
    My Christmas present haul this year was disappointing so your video more than makes up for it.
    This could be my bike, snap. Even with its' red clutch cable mount. However I have black anodised brake and clutch master cylinders and the front fly screen on mine, R&G headlight protectors and engine casing sliders.
    Last summer '23, I got the Ohlins suspension set up for my weight at BG Motorsport in Northamptonshire, which has made my bike handle and ride even better. It's now really sweet, turns and drops into corners so easily. The ride is more compliant as I had a slightly softer rear spring fitted as the std one I felt was a little too firm for the roads. It is really rated for quite heavy fat riders which like you, I am not.
    I would highly recommend getting the Ohlins suspensionset up to suit the rider. It's not expensive. Only cost me £80 for the slightly softer spring and fitting. £60 setting up the suspension for me. It rides even more nicely now. Money well spent.
    The engine and it's sound track is fantastic. The brakes are awesome.
    Thanks for doing another review of this bike as iirc you already did one some years ago?
    I agree with pretty much all you say. Although they can have gearbox issues which mine did, which was a nightmare to get fixed, took pretty much one year, but all good now.
    Thanks again.
    Have a HNY.

      @@markpulling12 Thanks for your reply. Yes mine too, although down on power compared to it's rivals and it's newer 1200 younger brother, for me it gives the best all round road riding package in terms of enjoyment, engine, comfort, easy to live with, switch gear and dash, build quality. The 1050RS has more than enough power and torque for road riding. You can still go mental on it if that's your riding style, but I value my life and license.
      I really wanted a BMW S1000R but I found the vibes through the bars, tank and foot pegs far too intrusive for me. I had to stop and get off after 15 minutes into the test ride which was such a shame as I really like the looks of this bike. The 1290 SDR Beast was excellent but just far too much for the roads imho. I couldn't trust myself self to either have not lost my license or life after the first day of riding. The 1200 Speed Triple RS was just too manic for me. Didn't seem to have the low down shove of it's older 1050RS brother, although it did feel lighter and seemed to drop into corners more easily. However it did feel more tiring to ride maybe because of the firm track orientated suspension. Plus I didn't like the new dash. What were Triumph thinking? Awful dash compared to the 1050RS imho. Anyway I am still liking my 1050RS although when the gearbox broke soon after I got it I was not loving it one bit, but all is good now. Hopefully I shall get the chance to ride it this coming year if other things don't get in the way.
      Are you renewing any bikes in your stable in 2024? Still got your Duke and MT09 Tracer GT?

    I got the 2016 version beautiful bike very capable of commuting on all year round very comfortable when you want some fun you twist that wrist and she flies and when you want to relax you can just cruise in comfort, such a great naked that also ticks all the commuter boxes, the reliability is slightly questionable though I have had mine for 3 years put down 27k miles, the radiator blew, and I have had some electrical problems indicator and horn failures.
    I had the 1200 new model for a week when mine was getting serviced and OMG IT IS A ROCKET! But maybe slightly less comfortable as it is much lighter you do feel the bumps a bit more and the riding position is more aggressive on the wrist but nothing too crazy

    What a fantastic bike. I've even come around to liking what it looks like. I love engines which produce so much low/mid-range torque. As you say, better for real-world riding. The roll-on in top is what matters. I really like triples. My 'car', a Can-am F3-S 1330 is a triple.

    Hi… I have this exact bike, same colour/year. Has any other owners experienced their bike stuttering when snapping the throttle open in 5th & 6th gear, almost feels/sounds like hitting the rev limiter but not ?? I’m wondering if it’s just me snapping the throttle open instead of dropping a gear or two then snapping it ?? My previous bikes were fireblades so I’m thinking I’m asking a bit too much from the rs triple ??
    Great video and review !!!

    • @MegaRusty64
      @MegaRusty64 Рік тому

      Update to my own comment…. Rough idle at low rpm’s and stuttering on quick acceleration… I just had the spark plugs and stick coils out, and on cylinder 3 (left side pot as you sit on the bike) the top of the spark plug was corroded where it meets the coil, coil tip was also corroded, water egress ???, cleaned all 3 coils tips, 3 new spark plugs, new air filter… no more issues and the bike rides flawlessly now😊 bike has 11000 miles and what looks like the original plugs from new, previous owners want slapping 😂👍

    I find it quite difficult to find out where Triumph and some other companies actually get their motorcycles made and l don't mean assembled.
    I mean, who makes the engines, and all the other parts, the new cheap looking TFT digital clocks etc.
    Marketing today fails to answer these questions.
    It would be very interesting Mark if you could do a video on who makes what.

    • @Nickbaldeagle02
      @Nickbaldeagle02 Рік тому

      Parts are mostly made in Thailand, shipped to Blighty and assembled here. Well, sometimes. Fact is business is business and if Thai or Chinese workers cost less to employ, Triumph will assemble wherever they can.

      Had to get a tank sent from China in the pandemic. Took 6 months. Agree with the TFT comment. Thou some old school riders prefer the analogue sweep tachometer. Personally apart from the speed, and occasionally changing modes and checking fuel levels, i don't really need other features. I'm busy concentrating on the road and enjoying my ride.
