    Always a pleasure to watch your content and implementing those techniques into my training. Currently working on easy runs MAF 80/20 throughout the week. Easy is easy trying to not engage in any grey zone running. Green 80% MAF and 20 % Amber 🤙🏽

      Spot on maf is hard to stick to but is amazing for development

    hi Lee I ran my first marathon last Sunday. I didn't really train for it .I snapped the end of my right leg off at the start of the year so by the end of February. I had only run about 15 miles, I managed to get to 50 miles 2 weeks before the race and then decided to taper. when I finally got a second X ray a few weeks ago. the bone still was not fully healed so I got a pair of Saucony pro 4's for the race more for the cushioning and the width than the carbon plate. I did no speed sessions. 1 decent long run and 1 marathon pace session at 4.11 per km
    I'm now 47 so my body is not getting any stronger but my mind is. Conditions on the day were dreadful with strong winds bouts of heavy rain and flooded roads. I know because of the condition a lot of people who really deserved to get a sub 3 marathon didn't. I also know I definitely didn't. I wanted 2.59 I got 2.58 I'm not posting this to boast only. I'm posting because I think I know why. 1 My sleeping and diet have been great for the last 4 months. 2 mindset I never gave a fuck about the race in the hole training cycle even the night before the race I was not excited. It just wastes energy and fucks, for me if your gonna be giving a fuck about it all the way through out the training cycle. When you need it the most Come race day when it starts hurting. You will have no more fuck to give,

      There's a lot to say about that mentality. For me personally I have to be invested in the pace I the marathon otherwise its too easy to let it slip later in the race, as I did imagine 35k when I run 3.01. Huge kudos for your marathon after all the trials and tribulations you faced. You clearly showed grit and determination

    I have a different view on training MP. You will run some 2 3/4 hrs close to MP. I think you need to be comfortable with this pace and you feel comfortable, if you trained it. Should it be the only pace you train? No. Should it be the fastest pace you train? No. Will you benefit from training MP? I think so.

      Everybody has an opinion how what works best for them. Of course in this 10 min video i can't explain all the nuances of marathon training. Your spot on in that I feel ypu should be comfortable running at marathon pace. Yes, you should. I never said it should be the only pace you train. If you look at my training I don't just run at marathon pace there is plenty of evidence to suggest that training above and below marathon pace has its benefits. I also didn't mention threshold training which can be used to increase that marathon pace. As always I cannot cover every depth of training in one video. The point of this video was to state that in my opinion if you're only running your runs at MP then there is better ways of attacking it 💪

      Fully agreed. Running MP only is a bad idea.
      I hope you reach sub 3 again soon.

      @rennleitung_7 exactly buddy marathon training can be complex. Il be sub 2.50 by next year 💪

      It's not about banking time, as you know in a marathon. Not even the best can bank time. It's more of a mental tick off. The message is that running at marathon pace only restricted your bodys capabilities to that pace and by training that 4 seconds faster it allowed me to know that I had enough to bank a sub 3.
