Andy Timmons at Throughbred Music's Guitar Expo in Clearwater, Fl. 1993 (?). The last song of Andy's amazing set that day. Purchase "ear X-tacy" CD to own the studio version.
I remember seeing him at a clinic in Memphis when he was with Danger Danger. I think they were opening up for Kiss of something. Man he was so good. You could tell he was light years ahead of the rest of the band then.
how have only 21,087 people viewed this?!?! its flawless, he's just one of those guitarists you could listen to all day, sure he has the "flashy" runs but it ALWAYS sounds so so good, just like EJ, groove central!
Ken Harris, THANK YOU! How fortunate we are that you captured all these songs. Amazing, especially when you look at the"tail of the tape" or seemingly lack there of. Here you got a guy playing in the corner of some music store, god knows where, in front of a couple hand fulls of people to some backing tracks and he absolutely plays his fucking heart and soul out on every tune!! Im so glad these are the first Andy Timmons performances that I came [sometime last year] across. THX brother Ken!!
You said it, there are so many ignorant people who just like to post hate remark's. I think Andy is far better then Guthrie Govan, I am not saying he is a bad player, but like you said they all have there own style's. Thank you for putting the record straight.
@travelerchase19 It is a kind of a medley based in different songs that have something to do with Stevie Ray Vaughan. I know there's Scuttle Butting and Stevie's Blues (from tommy emmanuel) over there. =)
fuck! can someone tab those licks there at 1:48 - 2:25 i don't normally ask or look for tabs. but holy shit man those licks are holy grail A++ rock jazzy licks
@guitarfan1979 Hey Man, no need to hate, GG is awesome and I love his music, but Andy is pretty awesome too man, just in his own way, like every other great guitar player. They all have their own touch. Have a good day :-)
No real need for tabs.. if you know your pentatonics, find some really cool sounding chromatic licks and there you go. He loves throwing in those bebop-ish runs.
lol yeah probably, but you make it sounds way easier than it actually is. I mean, that part is harder than any gilbert/satch/vai's licks and just as fast, I dare to bet any day. I did try but can't get nearly up to his speed yet. In fact you can see a lot of people already covered most of guitar heroes tunes almost note for note, but I haven't seen any one able to play Timmons monster licks or even any close to what he does. I rate the level of difficulty second only to govan.
HOLY SHIT! I was there!!! We got John Petrucci to jam with Andy, SOOOO awesome!!!
Jesus, this was what a feel and performance. Love the impro too!

holy cow, this is the best version of I remember Stevie i have ever heard, it is just sick, those licks in the first verse are just killer
I'm impressed that when he was so young he used to play just like he plays now, even better!
Great video
Timmons ruless!
Gifted..
if only he played "its getting better" this set would have been righteous!
brilliant

Great musician, ANDY!
Tremendo!
so cool
wow
(any slim notion I ever had that I was on my way to being a player was soundly put in proper perspective)
This is fucking awesome
He plays with his Ibanez AT LACS, very rare guitar.
There are some few around the world, but they are very expensive.
andy timmons is a beast like his style any other guitarist with similar style?
Love your post...
This guy is WAY better than the G3 line up which explains why he hasnt been invited for an extended tour. Simply smokes.....

Did U get it finally from someone? 🙃
I have a hard time understanding why people prefer house or overly heavy metal over this.

Already saw Andy and Vai live ... Vai is God but Andy is better ...
Andy is the guy who learned God how to play Guitar.

This guys guitar playing does nothing for me
So You have to grow up a little to understand phrasing and feel of Andy's playing mate ;-)
