Hello ASL Heroes!!!
Hey, I could really use your help.
If you’ve enjoyed having access to an expert in ASL you can help me continue my work for you.
A small monthly donation from you would instantly make a big difference here at the studio because teachers don’t earn much and I could use some help paying for server and domain hosting for Lifeprint.com.
Right now you can help out a humble (not to mention kind, caring, generous, compassionate, helpful, friendly, fair, and hard-working) ASL teacher -- just go here and a few clicks later you too will be a true “ASL Hero!”

Thanks!

p.s. Want to have your very own USB drive with four semesters worth of ASL instruction (that’s the equivalent of two years of colleges classes) for just $79.95? See "SuperUSB" in the ASLUniversity bookstore at:

Take care and love to you all.

Thanks for these. Makes me see how much more practice I need 😏🤓
Seems you are not alone. I'll probably keep making these and make longer ones.
😂😂 same!

I'm a beginner so these are too fast for me. I tried a slower setting but the hand shapes were blurred. Do you have the equivalent in a slower speed.
Maybe try: asl.ms/mobile/
and set it to a speed at which you are comfortable.
On a desktop browser (not mobile) try this page:
www.lifeprint.com/asl101/fingerspelling/index.htm
Then try this quiz:

Thanks for the practice!
Is Hugo supposed to be Hugh?
Great catch! I spelled "Hugh" and my assistant typed "hugo." Hmmm... now I need to figure out the best way to edit that!?
Okay, I tried an interesting edit feature that applies a blur and tracks the object -- thus supposedly allowing me to blur out the "hugo" and track it until it is off screen. (UA-cam will process it and upload the change -- sometimes it takes an hour or two to load the edited version but this a relatively short video).
I think later when my assistant is around I'll just redo the whole video.
The blur worked :) Maybe adding "Hugh" as text (like as a side note) on the video could work too.
Hmmm.. I'm not quite sure how to add text as a "side note" on a video. There are options to do a "card" or something like that. Ha. Always more to do, fix, and solve.
Speaking of "Hugh" (and fingerspelling), you might find the following video amusing:
ua-cam.com/video/I2n43W_3g0I/v-deo.html
thank you
I am sure its because you are an expert but for example when you spell gale the letter e is not formed the way you teach in beginner videos. That makes it hard.
And now you know the truth about the myth of the ABC's of ASL. What you see in fingerspelling charts and on the hands of ASL 1 teachers is just "one" version. Sort of like "motherese."
There are literally 10 or more versions of the letter "E" in common use in ASL on the hands of native-level signers.
Yes, it is "hard."
The good news is: It is only hard until you know it and have gotten used to it.
That will take some time, effort, and patience.
Best wishes to you in your journey.
@sign-language thank you. I figured it was a little like writing, you develop a style the better you are instead of struggling. Thanks for all your work.
