I’m an American who’s aware of British subculture during those times it was a real treat to see lesser known bands, such as The Questions (who came off very XTC) and Dolly Mixture deliver a brilliant live performance but most of all, ‘Funeral Pyre” was even more incendiary live than on vinyl. This puts me smack dab in the middle of it all!
I appreciate the thoughtful considerations of emerging youth of the times and was impressed to hear the perspectives from both sides of the economic field. Overall, this is an incredible journal of early 1980s Britain and wow, how young for everyone to be so wise! Hats off to whoever put this together.

These 2 " Blistering Performances " From The Jam Are A " Stark Reminder " As 2 Just How Essential And Relevant The Band Were At That Particular Time !!! From Adrian Browne 1965

That is fantastic! On behalf of my 11 yr old self, my middle aged self would like to thank Paul Weller for introducing me to the reality of politics, power, and most of all, issues around class. As said by another already, everything is just the same, nothing really has changed, especially structurally. Publishing is still controlled by the toffs, it is classist, very ableist and does not tolerate neuro-diversity at all. The only change I see is in "young adult" books. Market forces eh?

Thanks for this, used to watch "Something Else" from '79( BBC2 )until it finished in 83 or so.. I remember it had the Sid Vicous music intro to begin with, later this electro-pop version, rare to see the whole show an not just the music stuff

I'm really glad and even happy to see the rar early work from Anne Clark now on youtube, because I've always read about this in magazin, her book and other sources. I love her music and poems really much, she influenced my life by her words and arrangements. Thanx very much. ;-) to all of you.

Wouldn't it be a better world if the youth of today took so much pride in understanding how the world works and actually did something proactive. Or at least took an interest in history and politics.
