- When we discovered that Grand Seiko's Shinshu watch studio in Shiojiri, Japan also houses what it calls the Micro Artist Studio, consisting of a small team of world-class craftsmen and women creating even more luxurious timepieces than you'd typically expect from the brand, we were immediately intrigued. The Credor Eichi II was born from this studio.

I've been salivating over that Credor for quite some time now.The porcelain dial is like looking at something projecting an inner light. Combined with the hand-painted indices and the blued hands, this is a watch that gives both wearer and viewer an almost Zen-like feeling of serenity. This is definitely the epitome of watch-making craftsmanship and excellence. This is definitely a watch you're not likely to see on the wrist of anyone else in the room!
You are absolutely right. It doesn't have any loud elements but a peaceful vibe.
I heard that the members of SEIKO Micro Artist Studio learned from Philippe Dufour, the watchmaker who created "Simplicity". Best Japanese watch!

Brandon's the best thing about Hodinkee these days. Great video. But it doesn't make up for that Cooper Zelnick Talking Watches insult to vintage watches. You're gonna have to do a one hour John Mayer part 3 with piece uniques only to make up for that one.

I really enjoy your reviews man, very light, kind of fun, and we get the information of the watch. Sometimes I wear a dress watch at home, with a t shirt, shorts and bare foot. As a watch enthusiast, I open the watchbox and grab the watch I want to wear, why not? Credor has amazing watches, there are really beautiful ones and the price is ok in the used market. Great video!

Since long ago Credor was making Holy trinity level watches but people were too snobby to believe.
Seiko SPB319 for anyone who wants a procelin dial watch but doesn't want to pay for a Credor.
Brandon did a great job, but a part of me wishes Jack was still here to bring us such a beautiful piece of Japanese artistry. This feels like it'd be right up his alley.

Great review and video, but I have always been underwhelmed with the Eichii. The hand painted straight line hour markers that are so perfected they look like they were done by machine perfectly sums up the watch.

The A. Lange & Sohne Datograph and the Philippe Dufour Simplicity are mesmerizing, masterpieces of engineering and utilitarian sculpture but... they are not painting. Enter the Credor Eichi ll. If I could have just one watch in the world it would be the Credor Eichi II with Ruri blue dial. It is the most beautiful watch in the world. The porcelain dial is lovingly glazed in blue enamel as deep as the midnight sky. Each number is represented by minimalist strokes and the Credor logo is exactingly painted with an impossibly thin brush. The Credor Eichi ll breathes and pulses. It is a painted masterpiece. Take a Rothko, reduce it to the size of a watch, and the Credor Eichi II would be the result. A silent hum on your wrist.
