I can't name another channel who deserves this sponsorship more than you. You've really come a long way, and I hope your hard work continues to pay off!
And dare I say, the most impeccable taste in music. Did not expect to hear Aphex Twin on a Starfield video but Stone In Focus was such a great choice for Alex's letter.
I was quite literally thinking about you the other day, I swear your videos show up just exactly when they're needed to brighten up my day / week / life. Thank you.
From watching you 10 years ago covering Call of Duty Zombies Easter eggs, it's a great feeling seeing you at the top of my timeline every time you upload. Hope you're well, Guru!
This video was really well done. No annoying commentary, side by side comparisons when appropriate, everything contextualized for those that may not understand the reference. Well done my friend.
@@FunWithGuru Of course bro! I have massive respect and support towards quality Starfield content creators. I hold you and UncleMumble in high regards.
As for voice actors, the collector Petrov from main quest is voiced by the guy who voiced Nick Valentine in fallout 4, Mercer Frey and other minor characters in Skyrim, and Garret in the first Thief game.
"The Cake Flavored Chunks" cube is a double Easter Egg. 1) it is the same exact colors and layering, minus the whipped topping, as the 'Perfectly Preserved Pie" from Fallout 4 and Fallout 76. 2) the item description is a reference to portal.
@@FunWithGuru yeah, me and some homes have been Easter Egg hunting in our discord. So far I have found a few, but nothing concrete. One of them in this video here I found. Also the Va'Runn pistol with the long barrel looks like one of the "Laspistols" from Warhammer 40k and there are many references to 40k, but they are very subtle because... you know GW. Also the fact that the Va'Runn weapons are "particle weapons" which is a combination type weapon of energy and either EM or physical damage. Which is technically if you follow some lore materials and lore channels like "Leuten" they explain it as such.
In regards to the Alex Hay note, the scariest thing in the world to me is knowing that one day, Bethesda will announce a new game and I won’t live long enough to play it.
The keep on keeping on one doesn't necessarily refer to death stranding as it is a somewhat common saying, I thought the easter egg was the beginning "Working at the distribution center can be tiring..." "I work with my mother, to sell fruits and vegetables. It's fun most days, but hard work."
Great video. I almost fell over laughing at Adoring Fan when you shot him in the leg. That dramatic tuck and roll! Lmao and then he says "I'm glad it was you" lmao
Amazing. This is one of the only videos I've ever seen that recognizes, just because a movie came out a while ago doesn't mean it shouldn't get a spoiler warning. What a champ. 👍
i noticed both a male and female skyrim guard voice. the male one was on a cruise ship, he looked like a stereotypical swedish man and i cant remember where the female one was, maybe the key. also sheogoraths voice actor is in the red mile.
I’m so happy you’re finally sponsored by Bethesda , my favorite UA-camr and game company , thank you for making my childhood and plenty of my friends. You really deserve the best.
Fixed: While heavily morbid, there is a Heaven’s Gate* easter egg with a ship whose passengers and pilot all drank poisoned juice as part of a cult. Corrected thanks to timwrobe5603.
@@AggressiveSpaghetti It is a random encounter you can have. But I do recall something about comet and how they believed they’d become one with it by dying while their ship was in its tail.
It's a Heaven's Gate cult reference, not Jonestown. It happened in 1997. They committed suicide because they believed there was an alien spaceship hiding in comet Hale-Bopp's tail that would take their souls to their homeworld.
Great vid! There's an easy to overlook black mirror reference, the egg shaped personal assistant you find on desks is similar to that of the "cookies" from the black mirror episode, White Christmas.
Another Skyrim Easter egg can be found when doing the Kryxs legacy missions. When you go to the frozen planet and search for his cell, if you go through all the prisoner logs Delvin Mallory shows up.
I found another that isn't in this video. In one of the prison computers in the lock there's a list of all the prisoners, one of them is Delvin Mallory who's a memeber of the thieves guild in skyrim.
This was originally in the video, but I ended up removing it. On the Starfield subreddit, there's like 1000 posts about this reference. I think I just got bored of seeing it.
Glad to see a Bethesda sponsored vid! Last time I commented was about hoping that the game companies would start sponsoring your vids. Glad to see companies take notice of really good work.
Guru, been watching you for over 10yrs & I still look forward to every video you upload. I'm really happy that you were able to get sponsored by Bethesda! Keep up the amazing content!! :D
Ya know as creatively bankrupt as this game is gameplay and story wise its always nice to see Guru vids no matter the game. Looking forward to the next easter egg vid.
Enjoyed the video (as always, even tho I haven't played much Bethesda games) and was pleasantly surprised to see your sponsor at the end of the video! Good job Guru! Very well deserved :)
3:20 We should all give a moment of silence to those that lost their lives before Starfield came out. Just fellow gamers that used to ride the school bus with the rest of us back in the day, taken too soon. I still visit the tribute to BostonBearJew in rainbow six siege on the arcade machine in Theme Park. We should make a mod that makes the note for Alex more special and unique, he deserves it.
Imagine being sponsored by one of the most famous game developers of all time, I Love that you included the azuras star remix at the end! What a nice touch.
I ran into one recently where and automated ship approached in space and told me it had been trying to reach me regarding my Ship’s limited warrenty. It took everything I had to just let it finish in respect to the voice actor and writer that weote all that dialog for a humorous jab at scammers.
You know, the funny thing about Cydonia's "hours without incident" counter is that I once went into Cydonia and noticed that the counter had switched to 0 without me having done anything. I thought that was funny at the time.
Top tier stuff as always man, congrats on the sponsor! You gotta check out the Dishonoured series, the games are filled to the brim with details. Keep on keeping on!
When I first met the doc on neon he asked „please state the nature of your medical emergency“ and I still think that was meant as a Star Trek reference/Easter egg
There is also the Universal Greeting from the original 80s Transformers movie that you can say to Kaiser the robot as the "password" during the vangaurd questline. "Bah-weep-Graaaaagnah wheep ni ni bong" Fucking amazing.

For Anyone wondering, the song that starts at around 3:14 is called Aphex Twin - Stone in Focus
I was rewatching this bit for like 15 minutes trying to remember the name of the song.
Thank you! I can't believe I forgot it's Aphex Twin...
Also a fun fact about the song it was used as the main menu theme for the directors cut of half life mod afraid of monsters
