Why isn't this as big as the UFC or boxing? This may be the most badass thing I've seen in a long, long time. Only thing I'd change is have the referees and ring girls wear medieval costumes as well. Yes, we all love scantily clad ring girls, but given the context, it would fit more with the sport if they wore medieval maiden dresses, instead of crop tops and booty shorts.
It's a relatively new sport, so it's not had that much of a following or exposure yet. Give it time and I think it could catch on. Ring girls dressed as maidens and wenches ... I'd go with that! 😉
HEMA? LOL! Actually that's the name of a department store brand in the Netherlands. So this is how they get their customers to leave the building after buying something. :)
@@NinhLyUK I'm sorry, but it's hard to call that a good decision. Ninh, the music credit is inaccurate. Justin Seven is NOT the creator of the song, nor is it called “The Best 3” or any variation of such. The actual composers are Jose Cancela and Amy Beauchamp and the song is simply titled “24/7 Boxing Theme”.
I've never understood why in the melee fights, people use axes, swords and anything not optimized for blunt force trauma; like a mace or hammer. You're not allowed to pierce or target weakspots, so why use a weapon that's effective for such a role?
Very good point! I suppose some people like the traditional knight weapons, though those large battle axes I reckon could do some serious damage. Check out the dude getting smashed at the 3:45 mark. That's gotta hurt.
They do. This is just merely for the WMA. Maces and hammer would kill your opponents in WMA which is avoided. Historically, many knights carried pikes, hammers, and maces to kill other knights since they are knight specific weapons. Longsword was good as well since they could use halfswording techniques or use their pommel to smash their opponents
