- Thirdstory's talented trio of Elliott Skinner, Ben Lusher, and Richard Saunders perform:
Grows Old, Searching For A Feeling and G Train.
When asked to describe what kind of music they make, the three members of Thirdstory-Elliott Skinner, Ben Lusher, and Richard Saunders-all respond with a nervous laugh. Known for their sublime vocal harmonies and uncanny knack for reconfiguring the language of pop songs, the music that the trio creates together is fantastically genre defying. “That’s the million dollar question, isn’t it?” laughs Lusher, “We usually say it’s pop songwriting mixed with soulful vocals, live instrumentation and elements of folk guitar and electric guitar, with a very hip hop influence on the production. So basically it’s everything.”
A collaborative effort in the truest sense of the word, Thirdstory’s forthcoming full-length debut reflects the group’s wide range of influences and diverse backgrounds.

They are SO talented! And this is literally the beginning of their journey. I can't wait to watch them grow!

I actually like this way better. It's like a classical concert where one can actually enjoy the music without someone screaming in your ear. Appreciation for music where the audience can actually hear the artist
I felt embarrassed for the crowd. They need to get their act together and show these amazing musicians some love!!! I'd kill to be in their seats!
Guys, the audience is SUPPOSED to be dead. It's TED Talk. People go there and give seminars about different topics and the audience is quiet out of respect and only clap when they have to.
Sheilaism clearly not in this context when the artists are practically begging for audience participation.
Nah during the music they can participate after it's cool to be silent and listen what they have to share.

I have a lot of things to say: 1. I'm feeling this like fuck! 2. The guy with the long hair has a beauuuutiiiffuuuulllll smile and attitude and I'm in love. 3. I'm really confused about the audience like I felt their voices all through my body and I'd be out of control if I was there... how do they just sit and barely bob their heads. Also they killed it, they're perfect, I'm in love, play at my wedding please. Marry me also.

What makes them great is their dynamics of their music, how they build at first then it make it whole gradually. Thats rare nowadays

i just went to their tour in philly a few weeks ago and its funny that they have the same routine every performance pretty much. im like how does he remember the g train story? even when they stop the song and ask everyone to sing louder you feel an obligation to sing louder even if youre shy lol i loved them!!

So enjoyed this performance. Remember Ben and Richard in high school years as vocalists with the Monterey Jazz Festival's Next Generation Jazz Orchestra. Incredible talent! With Elliott in the mix...this group is awesome!

Sariah Ratford basically it's what happens when you turn the volume too loud and everything sounds like it's coming out of a broken speaker. Sometimes it sounds good though like in distorted guitars, but here it sounds like an accident and hurts my ears
