Pozole is a dish that has been prepared for generations all across Mexico. In fact, we consider it a celebration food because it’s present at birthdays, winter holidays and independence day. Let me just clarify this; if we crave it, we make it! This dish is the perfect example of our devoted attention to detail when it comes to flavor and presentation. Mexican food not only takes pride on ingredients but also color and texture. This means, before you even taste it, you know it's going to be amazing!

I’m a gringo, but my partner is Latina. you and Rick Bayless have helped me learn so much about authentic Mexican cooking. I remember making your al pastor at the park grill on one of our first dates. What a special memory. This will be my first pozole attempt, no idea what it’s suppose to taste like. I’m sure it won’t be perfect, but I’m excited to begin my journey. Thank you!
In the same boa 1:24 t as you are.
Omg i love pozole. My abuelita made it for me, and now that she has passed, eating it brings back fond memories of her. Definitely going to try!
It would be a nice tribute to your grandma for sure 🙏🏼
Pigs feet for your collagen intake, bone broth Mexican style❤
The pigs feet definitely add a lot to the pozole!
You’re so sweet and are such a pleasure to watch. I love your videos. Thank you for sharing your excellent recipes! Take care❤
Thank you so much! You take care as well 😊
Looks delightful. ❤ Thank you 😊
My pleasure 😊
I love love love your recipes. I’ve made several and all were super delicious! Keep them coming!❤️
Glad you like them!
Looks so good! Can't wait to make this fall/winter!
It is so good! Definitely a recipe to keep around, specially now that it is getting cold again.
The finished product looked freaking delicious!!!
We were so excited to taste!
Oh my word. I didn’t know all this was in pozole! A few minutes ago I saw a video about Pioneer Woman’s attempt. I knew it couldn’t be right. I definitely gotta make this.
Looks delicious, you cooking makes me wish i had grown up in a mexican family. Will you adopt me 😅
😅 never too late to try the recipes.
Nelson, I like this shooting and editing style versus what I have seen in the others. Using more of the kitchen gives you more possibilities.
Rossana, watching several of these videos, I can see how your confidence has grown and your personality come out as you have become more comfortable doing these videos.
Thank you both for the effort of documenting these recipes and for helping gringos like myself learn authentic Mexican cooking.
Glad you enjoy our videos. Thank you so much for the support!
That looks awesome !!!
It absolutely does! And taste amazing as well!
Delicious, comfort food on cold winter day, 😂😂😂😂😂
You know it will come in handy!
Rossana,
That pozole looks AMAZING!!!
Let me tell you. It sooooo goood!! You’ll love it!
Yum. Reminds me of my grandma's posole.
I have been waiting for 2+ years!!!!
There you have it! So many recipes I am so eager to make, so little time 😅
@VillaCocina my MIL is a phenomenal cook. And she's been cooking since she was 4 so long before she could read or write, so everything is by texture, taste, eyeballing, etc so it's very difficult to duplicate or come close with ratios and measurements to preserve los sabores de la familia. Which would be such a pity for them to disappear. So recipes like your help give a baseline so that I can reverse engineer hers through observation and noting some differences and nuances.
Ok I’m going to try for Christmas Eve …. Thanks u are my go to cooking channel
Oh thank you for the trust! Have fun! ☺️
Can wait to try this your amazing at cooking hun great job love your magic in your hands ❤✨️✨️🙌😍😍🌻🌻🌻☺️🤩😆😄😄

My pleasure 😊 glad you like it!
"Gimma that!"😂 I love watching your videos for the recipes, but now watch mostly for the laughs with you two!❤❤
Nelson’s taste is unique at times 😅
Delicious and yummmy 😋👍
Agreed!
I love the idea of using broth to rehydrate the chiles! Also, to help remove the can flavor from the hominy you can roast on a sheet pan for a few minutes.
I made it & it was so much better than mine . My adult daugters picky & says no ones pozole has flavor . But wen she tasted yours she said wow finely a pozole with flavor . your an amazing cook thank you so much 🥰
I've never had it but I'm willing to try it.
It won’t disappoint!
I’ve never had pozole, but this looks amazing!!! Btw you and Nelson are just too cute 😊
Thank you so much 😊 let us know if you give it a try
That's just the recipe I was looking for! Thank you.
And tell Nelson that I too always eat with my pets and they do get to sample most of the dishes.
Thanks! Zk
Awesome! Glad you’ve found what you were looking for. Nelson read the comment and says hi 😊
I made it!! Turned out amazingly delicious 🤤 ❤ whole family loved it!! i also added some pork neck bones that i found at walmart, the broth came out so creamy and rich.
Nice! Congratulations! Happy to know you and the family enjoyed! ☺️
This looks amazing!
God bless all here.
Thank you! You too!
My youngest son, and I love Pozole. But I’ve never made it. I didn’t know it was this simple, thank you. I will be making it with him soon.
That’s just beautiful! Enjoy your time with your son 😊
My favourite......
🙌🏼 you have great taste!
Hello, your recipe looks great and I'd like to make it. What size stock pot did you use? 12qt, 16qt? Bigger?
Really nice cooking videos.
Glad you like them!
Hmm que bua comida
Looks very good. Fyi I did the Pollo Loco recipe you did OMG.. 😊 took me like 2 3 times to make it good but it very good 😊
Great job! Persistence rewarded then! ☺️
What's the escape hole for in the blender? I've never seen that done before.
I know nothing beats fresh but is this a soup that you could freeze or would the hominy get soft.
thanks
Looks delicious I love pig feet.
Do you happen to have a video of red chicken pozole? I love your recipes by the way 😋
Looks good. Ok, I'm subscribed. Lol
Awesome! Thank you! Welcome aboard!
Your Posole looks delicious
It’s a delicacy ☺️
I’m with Nelson oregano on scrambled eggs is great
He couldn’t agree more 😅
Delicious 😋 from Barbara 😊
Thank you Barbara ☺️
I will definitely make your Red Pozole soon Rossana!😋 In fact I have a bag of dried white corn hominy from Rancho Gordo that I'm just itching to make.
Would you consider making an updated YT vlog of your delicious Apple Cake this fall, and uploading the written recipe to your website? Pretty Pleeeeeese!🙏🙏🙏🍎🥮🍏
Haven’t done pastries in a while for the Chanel!
@@VillaCocina Rossana, if you don't have time to make a new vlog for your wonderful Apple Cake this fall would you consider uploading the recipe to your website? I can't seem to find the full written recipe on your Villa Cocina website. It would be great if we could all print it out for some fall baking.😃🥮🥰
More YUM
I love pazole! But is there something that can be used instead of pig's feet or can they just be left out altogether?
You can leave them out if you prefer.
what can you substitute the hominy with?
Substituting the hominy would take the “pozole” away from the dish. I do have other soup recipes you can try if you prefer
like the new hair style
Thank you!
Is Nelson the luckiest guy
Or what
He sure is! 😄
For your salsa Macha can you use avocado oil instead of grape seed oil, we stay away from all seed oils.
Of course! avocado oil works well.
WOW, never had it but it sure looks like a very yummy dish. Rossana, could you email me the leftovers???
That would be convenient wouldn’t it 😅
@@VillaCocina Yes 🤣😂😅
Pot size in quarts???
How many servings will this realistically make? 6 pounds of pork and 2 patas seems like much more than 10 servings especially with the hominy?
Rachel Ray SENT ME 😏
Nelson you better marry that girl, if you don't I am going to !!
Pigs feet are just for flavor or did you eat them too? Couldn’t I make it without the feet?
They add body to the broth and flavor, we do eat them. You can skip them if that’s what you prefer.
Can I be friends with you and your husband? Please 😁 I'm a nice guy to be around 😁
Food sure brings people together doesn’t it 😄
@@VillaCocina it sure does hun. Id really love to hang out with you and your husband hun. Your husband will like me. I'm a very comical guy lol
Not authetic. It's missing Aztecs secret ingredient
Auténtico no es de lata😂
thank you again.blessing.✌🙏🫀.
